- ( www.TFLtruck.com ) The Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Concept is the Ultimate off-road worthy Colorado that we hope Chevy will build. Positioned between a Ford F150 SRT Raptor and an upcoming Chevrolet Colorado diesel, the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Concept is fitted with a 181 horsepower, 2.8-liter Duramax turbo-diesel, it cranks out 369 lbs-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission is the only transmission available. At 4:10 that exhaust placement and tip looks bad ass. This will definitely sell if went into production. I will buy one for sure. Im in the market for a new truck and am waiting if this actually hits the market! ~Awesome.

Great concept and this is what experienced truck buyers are looking for. Two friendly suggestions: 1. Chevrolet should look at the Dodge 3.0 eco diesel and review videos on the oil blow by modifications that have been shown on TH-cam which have been engineered to improve the stock design of potential issues with oil. 2. Try and create a drop frame that would allow for the spare to be mounted under the box with a hatch on the floor of the box so that the spare can be protected from the elements. Winter roads in Canada rust up the spares when they are mounted under the box. Otherwise it should be built and sold on (at minimum) the north american continent. Thanks for sharing this video.

Already have a diesel jeep wrangler with a lift and 4x4 so nope nope nope
except the fact that there is 2 diesels for jeep. a 2.8 crd in the euro/Asian spec wrangler and the 3.0 ecodiesel....oh which makes 240hp and 420ftlbs
strongjeff1 expect the fact that I did a engine swap, a V6 isn't enough to power 40s, hence I did a isf 3.8l cummins swap
so what your saying is 420 ftlbs isn't enough to turn a 40" tire? and the V6 I mentioned is a diesel and makes said torque way down low. is more compact then your 3.8 and can be mounted much better
Where did this 420 ft pounds of torque come from? I was talking about the V6 originally came in the jeep, the 3.8 isn't even that big and is mounted just fine
I normally wouldn't even entertain the idea of buying a Colorado, however this concept completely changed my mind. I would pre order one today if it were possible.
BTW great show FLT keep it up, I live in the Lakewood golden area and love your high altitude tests.
Got to love those mid axle rear shock mounts reaching way down asking for a rock to rip off. To be fair, it's not like anyone buying a Government Motors Colorado is going to take it off road, but it's still funny that they keep putting them there like that.
Shouldn't be an issue if you're careful.
B T you also dont put taller, differential hitting objects, between the wheels. off roading is driver ability just as much as the vehicle itself

Diesel, 4wd, lifted with front and rear locking diffs that's going to be blast to use off road, hopefully they decide to build it.

I've never been a chevy guy but I would buy this truck.
That truck looks awesome. I hope they come out more dependable than the old ones because it sucks to pay so much for a truck for it to be breaking down in its first year. That's why I ended up getting a Taco and I haven't had any problems in 4 years.
Reminds me of the old Sonoma and S10 ZR2 Highrider's. I'd buy this truck immediately especially in crew cab.
Such an awesome idea and forces the Frontier and Tacoma to step up their game big time! I hope they go through with this!
I would buy one of these in a heartbeat. Nothing currently on the market interests me... stuck driving an old lifted ranger and worried about what I'll replace it with when it dies.

I saw a yellow one of these ZR2s parked next to a ZR1 at the dealership where I got my suburban from. Definitely looks more for off-road use. Great looking truck nonetheless.

was planning on getting the 2015 Colorado V6, but after seeing the 2016 ZR2 (HOLY SMOKE!!!!), I'm going to wait for this production. Or maybe I'll get the V6 for my wife and then I'll get the ZR2...MAN I SMART!!!!
Not that smart, there's a high chance this won't make it to production. Might as well buy your V6 colorado!

I like the 2.8 litre Duramax turbo diesel engine. I'm glad it's finally available. I'd like to see more trucks with the engine. Whatever the market does, I believe that a small displacement turbo diesel engine should be offered for those who want one.

General Motors, I sure hope you put this awesome looking truck into production. Just some suggestions, please replace timing belt with a timing chain and I sure would like the option of putting the spare tire underneath the bed instead of in it so I can maximize the use of the bed when I need more space.

Saw one in display at our local stock show fair and it instantly caught my eye. I have the Toyota Tacoma and it very nice too, but damm that Colorado truck is going to give Toyota a run for their money!

The up travel on those rear shocks is freakin miniscule... that won't help much when you constantly bottoming out offroad

I think they nailed it with the engine. Fuel economy of a 4 cylinder and enough torque to hit the dirt roads and over 7000 lbs towing capacity. Front AND rear locking differentials. If you're a Chevy guy that likes to go off-road I'm not sure what else you could possibly want. Price tag is gonna be steep tho :/ I really hope they make this truck just so I can see Nathan and Roman test drive the crap out of it. Wow, the truck comes with an integrated wench. That'll save me time at the bar trying to find my own. Too bad there's no winch, that would've been a pretty useful feature.

Not really a big fan of the new Colorado's but this thing is pretty slick. Would love to have a small diesel engine like that as long as you can rip all that emissions crap off of it. The only thing I would really change is maybe move what looks like a reservoir for the shocks somewhere less visible
I've been looking at Tacomas because I'd like to downsize from my 5.9 Ram 2500... Not since I saw this ZR2. I'm holding my breath, and my pink slip. If this is made, I'm getting one. I hope they make a Desert Tan version that doesn't have the rear tire in the toolbox spot. Adding to the wish list.. a rear window that rolls down..

GM, please build this and and for the love of god price it right. I crapped a brick when I saw the sticker on a Z71, so I'm honestly expecting to be disappointed...but I really want this truck. And please relocate the shock reservoirs on the front. Those things are screaming "squish me now".
I'll take it if they offer this package in the canyon. I LOVE the new canyon design as it's a mini sierra; the colorado not so much

I'm getting my Colorado this weekend but GM could have really killed it with these trucks! They always hold back! Raptor fighter...please!! 5.3 or TT 3.6 like the Caddy and way better suspension...then we would have something here!

How sexy one of the nicest production trucks imo and it looks sooooooooooooooooo much better than the regular Colorado i like cars more but if this thing exist and i have the money i would love to buy one and you are right Nathan they should definitely put it to production
