These things are garbage they cost half what a Tacoma costs but the wheel bearing for them is $500 and it is unique because the rotor is on the inside of the hub so I’d you need to change the brake rotor you have to destroy a $500 bearing.
They also have cam timing issues and those will come quick if you do t change the oil every 4000 miles. And because they built these trucks so cheap you have to take the engine out (or worst) to charge the timing chain. Also the computer is so crappy that gm could not install a software patch. These trucks are comfy but they are garbage and there are lots of them going to the junkyard because of the p0017? Code.
Tacomas are east to fix and they don’t need a $5000 engine job at 120000 miles.
But really id you live anywhere there is rust you will not get the bearings out without destroying them and you have to remove the bearings for rotor jobs WOW!

Scotty! I have that same truck! I bought mine new 4 yrs ago 4 cyl and 6 speed manual I bought off the lot. It had the optional WT trim.Electric mirrors, and aluminum wheels, etc. The upgrades came to 3k, but It was sold to me at base price, like the one in this vid. I get 15 mpg town and mpg 30 highway. It sat on lot for almost 1 yr . No one wanted it because it had a manual transmission, but that is what I was looking for. I was going to buy a Toyota, but Toyota cab is cramped for me ,I am 6'6" tall. The only problem was I got the truck with 12 miles on it , and would not shift to reverse in driveway so I went out and rowed the gearbox for 40 miles and the transmission broke in and never happened again.

I recall that the firestones were not actually defective but instead they were run low on pressure, overheated and then had a blow out. Americans don't like to have to be responsible for anything like actually checking tire pressure. Hence, big brother made manufacturers install tire pressure monitoring systems which worked out great since vehicles were all computer controlled by then.

I wanna get a 2021-2023 Ridgeline early next year. Dealers are piling up on inventory, car market is crashing and with a looming recession, they are going to be desperate to sell. Ridgelines are still quite expensive compared to others in its class, like 47k msrp plus like 2-5k mark up at the dealers. But with a 700+ credit score, a pre-qualified car loan from a credit union with a lower APR and 20% down payment, and knowledge of legitimate and bogus fees, oh boy I’m bending them over their own desk 😂

I have had a lot of good luck with Chevy trucks, in that the ones I got cost me very little, and I drove the hell out of them without issue for years. Eventually, it wears out, so what, toss it and get another. I'm on my 4th used Chevy truck now in 13 years, and so far I must have spent a total of $7000 on all of them combined to date. Fair enough, I am a mechanic, and I know how to maintain them so long as they aren't wrecked when I get them, but I just cannot complain about anything really.

I'm not sold on Chevy's anymore. I had 2 S-10 trucks in the past, and they ran ok, but it needed stupid things, like door hinge pins, inside door handles, third door latches, window motor, digital speedometer repair and leaking injectors under the intake manifold.
Now, I drive a 2009 Titan and it's a great truck with no problems at all. Scotty dissed Titans. My neighbor has one too, and loves his.

Leased an '85 Ford F100 as a landscape maintenance vehicle. No sir, 3 on the tree, light in the tail. I could climb right in next to the motor. Stupid to lease it though, ended up cheaper to buy off than turn in. Wasn't fancy, wasn't a truck people wanted to borrow either, without power anything, she'd give you a work out to drive. My holdback vehicle now is an '94 Ranger 5 speed. Still cute & dependable.

I have had 2 Tacoma's and they were both trouble free for 10 years each. I traded my 2010 Tacoma for a new 2019 Colorado and loved it for the first 9000 miles. That's when the "Colorado shimmy" started. A well known problem going back to 2015 that Chevy couldn't fix. The V6 paired with the 8 speed transmission is the problem and it's also an issue across all other GM models. My truck was in the dealer shop for 50 days in the first 6 months I owned it and they couldn't fix it. I lemon lawed the truck, GM reimbursed me with no problem and I bought a new 2019 Ram and love it. All you have to do is search online and you will see many complaints about the "Colorado shimmy".

My dad passed on New Year's. I'm a car only guy, but he left me his 08 Tacoma. The truck only has 60K miles on it and it's 15 years old and honestly doesn't have any issues other than the paint is starting to rust on the roof. But nothing mechanical, problem is my my mother and I don't know what to do with the truck as we don't really need it. He was also in the middle of restoring a 68 Camaro and we don't know what to do with that either. Everything is done (besides the paint job), it just needs to be put back together.
