I didn’t know that Icelandic Jasmine from the 90s also died that’s really sad but glad that the Icelandic voice of Ariel and Pocahontas did the performance again and now doing Jasmine this time for taking the lead.

She would’ve been excellent as Ariel. Jodi is absolute perfection for me but Lea is a very close second. She knows the soft intimacy/sadness mix you need in this song delivery. Halle’s version sounds too powerful and bold. That’s not where Ariel is at the point of this song.

I love Jodie Benson. She will always be the iconic Ariel voice. However, I also love Lea Salonga and her renditions of many Disney songs are totally worth listening to as well! Lea has the distinction of being the only person to be the singing voice for 2 Disney princesses: Jasmine and Mulan. Over the years she has sung many Disney songs besides the ones she recorded. In her latest tour she has been singing "How Far I'll Go" from "Moana" and it's gorgeous.
