@Thomas Jones Ajax hadn't won the Eredivisie for five years until ETH took over. He completely rebuilt that Ajax squad and won the league three times in four years. Arteta is a small piece of success at Man City. Putting glory on Arteta is a disservice to the brilliance of Guardiola.

I think a testament to how well Arsenal are playing is how the conversation has switched from Arsenal not making top 4 to now them not winning the league.
I think if ur going off premier league careers as managers, you have to give it to arteta. But overall Ten Hag has done some spectacular things for realistically a smaller club.

as a liverpool fan i have to admit they both fantasic mangers and i admit with arteta he has certainly proved me wrong and i have massive respect for arsenal and arteta the way he has transformed arsenal and with ten hag i dont want to see man utd to succeed at all but i think ten hag will be a success at united he also done some amazing things with ajax semi-finalist yeah you say he had a good side but he coached them aswell and developed them and i think he can do that at united may take some time but i'd say next season you'll see how good he is its too early to say who will better in the end but right now based on what he has done at ajax id say ten hag but its much closer than people think

Ten Haag had generational talents like De Jong and De Ligt in that CL semi final side. Once they were sold, Ajax failed to qualify for knockouts in CL, dropped to Europa and crashed out in Europa to much weaker opponents in back to back seasons.
Even without Ten Haag, Ajax are still doing well in the Eredivisie, and would probably had run away with the title if they didnt sell Martinez and Antony.
Ten Haag is a good coach no doubt, but way too overhyped. Jardim took a generational Monaco team to CL semifinals too, but look where he is now.
And the actual credit for Ajax's resurgence under Ten Haag goes to Overmars and Van der Saar.

Given current circumstances Arteta is leading this Arsenal to new heights the club hasn't seen for years since Leicester won the league title. Based on this season, Mikel definitely edges this head to head so far.
However, if we look at the bigger journey past 5 years, you'll give that edge by a mile to Ten Haag. His Ajax team was something wonderful, shame we never got to see the Season 2 with all of the players getting poached.

It’s actually embarrassing that goldbrige is ignored and maligned by united ex players and isn’t given much of a platform on other shows like Steven howson or Adam mckola are. These people have ripped united fans off, mocked foreign fans and non Manchester fans and then leaked information about marks real name and his family’s names. True Geordie having Adam turn his back on him after he chose him to be on the show and not have goldbridge anymore must have him regretting that a bit now.

Maybe they’re right with Saka having a better mentality than Rashford for the penalty miss situation saying he still had a good season next season and rashford dropped off. However, I would argue that Saka had a stable manager that season who nurtured and backed him and rashford had only just got over a surgery that made him start back late in the season was in Manchester United where the manager was sacked before Christmas and a interim manager was brought in that didn’t work. I do think these are important factors to take into account not knocking Saka he’s a great talent. Rashford for his whole career has faced instability in his club he’s now on his 5th manager all with radically different styles of play and he’s only 25. Saka has had a much better start of things for me will be interesting to compare them in a couple of years once ten hag has had more time to influence rashford and hopefully improve his game.
but a great player would be able to adapt and even if they weren’t at there best still be good in a different system. I bet if that were any great player they would still be great, and i think rashford with the perfect environment would be on the same tier as saka(very high just not the top yet)

Arteta doing a fantastic job at Arsenal, no doubt. Lifting that team's ceiling measurably over the past two years. Ten Hag made Ajax genuinely competitive against Europe's elites. Both Top managers and the PL is lucky to have them imo !

The thing with Man City is that they win the comp more often right now because they have the most resources available to handle the sheer amount of games. It is the same reason that money has allowed Newcastle to become good. The champions league is a different beast because it isn't an exhaustive number of games and mainly comes down to who coaches and plays better in big spots.
Yet City won the league last year with one of the smallest squads 17 players. Kinda goes against your argument

With Gabriel Jesus getting injured, I just can't see Arsenal maintaining their position ahead of City. He may not have been scoring a lot of goals, but he has been creating space for those that have.

I think fact ESR Zinchenko Tommy Tierney and Partey are all injury prone may be more impactful on Arsenal's chances than Jesus injury. Combined I think squad is quite a bit short but 3 signings in January could make the difference.
Ten Hag CV is way ahead of Arteta but in future we will see. Hag has resources and experience so Arteta has a lot to prove yet.

Ten hag will have Utd challenging for the title next season and he has turned them into one of the best sides in the country in 6 months, although arteta won the fa cup in his first season they finished 8th, and they finished 8th in artetas second season also, I’d take champions league football over the fa cup any day. People were calling for arteta to be sacked last season when they finished below Tottenham. Arsenal are doing great and playing amazing football but let’s not pretend that arteta is some genius, Liverpool Chelsea and even city have been pretty poor this season leaving arsenal an open goal to win the league

Answer will be biased toward Artetas best and current season. If we rated them on the 18/19 season where Ajax were in a Champions League semi final then results would have been different again. Both are good managers.

but please also compare the spendings by then. Eth just spend over 200m on top of Varane, Fernandes, Rashford, technically Sancho etc, whereas arteta spend 350m overall in 5 transfer windows on something like 15 players

Only thing Ten Hag has on him is good UCL performances but you’re right there’s no point in comparing a man who’s had 4 or 5 years to rebuild to someone who’s come into a toxic club and hasn’t even had half a season.
