Not to mention that he achieved most of those prestigious titles mostly with senior players that were not in their prime. That's what a football manager is.
Agree, mourinho squeezes potential out of his team but pep when given his perfect players creates magic but what I want to see is pep not having power to buy his players and transforming his tactics to his players
@gr3saeyend agree. But who else? He went to clubs who buys players when they want to. Super rich clubs but when they stop funding his transfers he also transfers. He knows when to pick his fights though i give it to him

Chelsea spent billions and he won, Inter a big spending team that won 3 straight serie a before he came, Madrid biggest spenders in history and he didn’t stop anything. Saying he is better than Pep means you like pragmatic defensive style of football. Those who love the beautiful game will pick Pep over Jose.

Mourinho parked the bus successfully and thats ligit but in terms of tactics xabi outplayed mourinho yesterday and its incedible how he made every player better.
But you are right. He will need another season to prove it. I might be yet alone with this opinion but i think he can take leverkusen up to be bayern contender if the club manages to keep some of the players for one season. Time will tell but i predict he will manage a team he played in like Real, Liverpool or Bayern one day.
@@chrismullero8244and here we are 8months later and you're absolutely right.
@@nelsonoghenekaroomoyibo270 👊
Did he not also play under Ancelotti? Who should be counted in there as best managers as well i think
He played under Benitez as well.
I love the images of Carragher pretending to comprehend Pep or Jose's sophisticated tactics.
Looking forward to Roma VS Leverkusen
7 years later, Pep has made John Stones one of the best ever English CBs
It was quite evident even when he was Everton, if you have a football education, that he would be a world class player. Pep helped him to achieve it; but he had all the tools.
@@mattvanemden7573 nah he struggled for the first 2 years and was out of the team for long periods. Even this year he was out for long periods after playing most of last season. Now in the past few months with Stones moving into midfield the transformation into one of the best is complete
@@butterbean86 nah he was quality at Everton and you could see, if you have an idea about football of course, that he would have a huge career ahead of him. He is showing it now. But he was always destined to be world class.
Lol
@@mattvanemden7573 I agree he always had the raw talent but he would be making stupid mistakes when playing out from the back, getting caught over and over. It had seemed Pep lost faith in him and he was out of the team for 2 years... I think most people wrote him off. I have to say I wasn't convinced of him until last year. And this year after seeing him in midfield without missing a beat... that's impressive. I think that is down to Pep's genius. When it comes to all time CB's I would still prefer Ferdinand, Van Dijk, Kompany but those guys never moved in and out of midfield seamlessly.
i am arsenal fan, i adore xavi alonso, stevie G, dirt kuyt.i started watching football from xavi alonso, henry era's
Watching this and thinking how he lead an invincible Bayer to their first league in 120 years, makes absolute sense
What a professional his career in player and coach!
Next lfc manager hopefully 🙏
Genius 💯💯
One of my Favorites Player is Xabi Alonso❤️❤️❤️
I don't understand why they don't include the dates of these original videos in the description
Alonso, Xavi, Iniesta playing for la Roja together ....what a midfield
The dream come true. Congratulations Xabi!
Xabi Alonso doing wonders with Leverkusen, good coach
Having experience as coach,I would confidently say it's not about the formation, but the quality of players that makes the formation works...no coach can have secret /Taktiks of another coach..
My experience is for more than 15years coaching Teenagers and Youths.
years ago, alonso speaking & thinking like a future manager
Xabi Alonso played a lot under Benitez, Mourinho, Ancelotti & Guardiola. Now a rising manager at Bayer Leverkusen. Potential future Real Madrid Manager.
He also played under Luis Aragones and Vicente Del Bosque. Two legendary managers.
@@nascimentoarantes That's right.
@@nascimentoarantesracist managers
Hey Xabi, do not use the word special if you are not going to complete it with "one" which of course means Mourinho 😎😎
This video aged like fine wine
Turned from a world class player to manager it looks like let’s hope it continues for him and we get to see him in the premier league with Liverpool
Both high maintenance and need tons of money for success. Though Jose like his Porto days doing his best at Roma on tight budget
Wow, brilliant manager coming from golden era of football. Once has won everything and I’m convinced he will win again but as a manager.
two stellar teammates.
Watching it after Xabi lifting treble with Leverkusen 😊🎉❤
We will all be so mindblown by all the titles this man will win.
He won everything as a player and he will win even more as a manager.
Good job he's coming to liverpool next season as klopps replacement, perfect timing 👌
@@Taharqo.saved.the.Hebrew hahahaha 😂
@@Taharqo.saved.the.Hebrew hahahahahaha. integrity > money. prepare for mediocrity, liverpool fans xD klopp is irreplacable.
Xabi.. incredible manger and well deserving of the Bundesliga with Leverkusen. I am hopeful Cesc follows similar steps to this man. After all, both are students of Pep and Jose. We will see!
Not all good players because couch in modern day football but U hv proved that you hv a amazing n Brilliant mind n go long distance in couching
Xabi: Pep is similar to Jose, but Jose is similar to Pep😂
Here to see our next manager 💯YNWA
he’ll finish building his Leverkusen dynasty in the Bundes and then take over when Ancilotti retires in Madrid
@@thlee3 We’ll see 😉
Jamie's accent is iconic😂😂
Everyone has their own point of view. But to me Mourinho is better than Guardiola after all he's done with Porto (UCL), Chelsea (first EPL in 5 decades), Inter (1st ever Italian Treble), Madrid (breaking Barcelona's domination in La Liga), MU (Shield, Eufa and Carling) and Roma now.
@@dual_5928bro pep made ake and akanji world clasd
@gr3saeyend agree. But who else? He went to clubs who buys players when they want to. Super rich clubs but when they stop funding his transfers he also transfers. He knows when to pick his fights though i give it to him
@@dual_5928 nice
Mourinho is a great manager but Porto on Portuguese level is a big spender. The season they won the UCL no historic team made it to the semis. Chelsea spent billions and he won, Inter a big spending team that won 3 straight serie a before he came, Madrid biggest spenders in history and he didn’t stop anything. Saying he is better than Pep means you like pragmatic defensive style of football. Those who love the beautiful game will pick Pep over Jose.
please put the original date in the title or description. hate not having that context.
Joseeeeeeeee ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
He should think about being manager some day.
Pep take more risk to kill the game earlier, Jose take less risk but looks out for opportunity to strike.
Along with his amazing technical prowess and charisma, Xabi Alonso is also an extremely handsome man. What an unfair world we live in
watcihng this after the man won the league title⚡🔥🔥
4:55 jamie didnt want to hear that Xabi knew Jose was top class
The way he speaks of the mamagers show clearly that he learnt a lot from them including Carlo Anceloti. No wonder he's about to win the Bundesliga with Leverkusen.
😂 Jamie trying so hard to make Xabi prefer Pep to the TRUE GOAT Jose!
GOAT?? ... lol, then why has he only won 1 league title in 10 years?
@@jimmywalker8354 And is still regarded as a GOAT with that "one league title in 10 years" because he has the streets. Even greats like Thiery Henry wanted to experience what it would be like to have played for that man. He got Stevie G to really think about leaving Liverpool. And Fabregas changed his tune about him as soon as he played for him. John Terry would die on field for him. Zlatan respects him and that says a lot...that is a GOAT manager right there.
Mourinho is 10x the manager pep ever could be.
Pep is already better then Mou ever was and will blow him out of sight once he’s done coaching.
@@vincentvries9854 I stopped reading after "has the streets"😂. Imagine that being the metric of who's more successful instead of actual trophies😂
Xabi is great to listen to has a great football brain.
Who's watching this after Xabi won the Bundesliga with Leverkusen? Xabi Alonso is the next Pep and Mourinho this decade.
🎉
imagine to play at Liverpool , Real Madrid , Bayern Munich , Juventus in your career 🔥🔥 what a career that would be!
And now Xabi is transforming Leverkusen to a Top Top Club
Discussing tactics with Cara must be his hardest career challenge
Him and stevie are 2 different types of midfielders but both top 5 all time in those positions.
Xabi was a maestro like pirlo.
Stevie was the engine.
Please come to Anfield
I don't want to see Klopp go, but this one here is the only one who can take the job now.
I am not surprised should Gerrard named Alonso as his best ever midfield partner.
Welcome back Xabi
Remember when Benitez wanted to replace this man with Gareth Barry 😂
CRAZY!! Started to dislike Benitez from that point
@@davidonyenwuba4236 same here mate. I also remember a game against Fulham where it was 1-1...we were desperate for a goal and he took Torres off and put a defender on. Ended up losing 3-1. I dont think he lasted much longer after that.
