You know you are a noob when you see another FM video that talks about spring maintenance and you immediately think about your coilover Springs.😂 thank you for all the great videos!
this is literally exactly what I thought too... I was like, "is there something I need to do with my coilovers..?", I mean, I know their threads are going to be caked in salt and shit from driving in the snow, but I thought there was going to be something further.. hahahah
Great video. I'll be checking all of the rubber components I can find. I have a 2001 SE and it has only 30,000 miles. Should I be concerned with changing the timing belt after 22 years or is it only affected by mileage. Thanks!
All rubber parts degrade over time and will get hard and brittle with age. We recommend to visually check the timing belt for cracks, breaks and signs of wear. Even with the low mileage, it's not a bad idea to replace those if you see any issues.
Haha! there is no "Getting ready" when my winter car decided it didn't like its rod bearings. The NA will now fight through the snow for a little while longer.
I preferred the winter tires because of the snow & ice we get in Northern Illinois. So I'm counting the days until I switch over to the Michelin Super Sport summer performance tires. Always a time where colder weather ( or snow ) can still be thru April. Got Race ramps to drive on then get the hydraulic jack underneath to put it on 4 jacks stands to do the rotation / change over. The tire compounds for All Season tires are getting so much better.
Hi and thanks for this video. What is the benefit of having 12 deg instead of recommended 10deg for advanced ignition timing? I live in Belgium and petrol quality is excellent as far as I know. I can set to 12deg to try but what should I feel different? I've got an NA 1992 Thanks for your response.
Advancing the timing can help make the engine run more efficient and give a very slight boost in responsiveness and power. The factory settings are very mild to keep things safe and reliable and protect your car from hot weather and bad fuel, which can cause detonation. There are a lot of guides and information on Miata.net and reddit that might be worth checking out.
Hi, are you guys working on a tune for the electronic power steering in the ND to improve steering feel? When will it be ready and how much will it improve feel?
This video was filmed live as one of our weekly video segments. Unfortunately, it would be impossible to show and demonstrate everything on this list in person on a live video. We try our best to show and explain as clearly as possible, but sometimes need to just talk through suggestions to help inspire owners to do their own research and work on their car.
We appreciate ya'll making these but it would be really nice to have chapters to click through on long format vids.

I have been waiting for him to talk about spring, but it never happened
There’s springs in the thumbnail so that’s probably how you thought that
@@leungyikwai It was a bad pun.
Thanks, Mike!!!
Thank you Michael

Oh wow, sorry to hear that!
@@FlyinMiataVideo On the one hand, im concerned with rust, on the other, a Miata in snow makes for 10/10 automotive mischief
DRAIN HOLES!!! Be sure they are clean and open.
I don't like parking near ANY tress even in winter. In summer I have a Covercraft sun shade I use that is really great for the ND.
Great suggestion! Sorry if we missed this in the video!
Good advice
All seasons all year here in Seattle because of how often it rains. 😢
Rain or shine, Miata is always the answer!
There’s some pretty decent all-seasons out there!

We may look into this, but we have no plans or ETA at this time.
thank u sir
You're welcome!
For a video, it would be more helpful if you demonstrate and show, rather than solely talking.
