I have to say something. This game has one of the best ambient sounds. Like you can hear screams, bombs, planes falling, people being burned, tanks etc. I cannot express the feelings, you feel like you're in the real WW2.

Even as a kid the bombs and screams didn't scare my but the sound of a tank tracks... It scared me. Even watching this video the sounds of those tracks brought back so many memories of me screaming, running away, pausing and asking my dad to help me.

This is the first Sniper game I’ve ever played without this game I wouldn’t be a good sniper in games like Warzone or Battlefield this game taught me to be stealth and to take it slow and enjoy. Even though I shit my pants in the first level as a kid cuz it was creepy but overall awesome game
Honestly I got into this game back when I was also a kid because I saw my dad pick it up play and have fun. I played less of a sniper and more of an infantry soldier but I changed my play style as soon as I heard those tank tracks. That audio made me shit my pants back then.
Man hearing the sounds of tanks always made a chill run down my spine whenever I played this game. Also I watched a history documentary and got to know about what the Soviet soldiers did to women they came across all the way to Berlin so those screams on the first level really got to me.

Knowing they did those horrible and disturbing stuff under the mindset of "punishing them for invading their territory". The common citizen is accountable for certain actions of their country like for example electing a bad leader into power but never the one who should be punished in place of their leaders for the actions of said leaders. On top of that the common citizen is just making ends meet. They honestly don't have any incentive to affect the international stage, let alone their own nation when all they worry about is whether or not they can build a stable happy life for themselves and their family. All anyone wants is a peaceful life its the leaders who make up reasons and manipulate the common people on how they can achieve it.

They even made female Soviet soldiers watch and made it like a trial of manhood for fresh Soviet recruits. Like their loyalty to the Soviet regime was based on whether or not they raped the German women.
I remember playing this in the PS2, since the game mentioned that the we are disguised as a German Sniper and me being a 9 year old walked up to a German patrol the moment I saw one and got gunned down. Anyways the part where there is a T-34 scares the shit out of me when I was young, spent an hour trying back and forth to throw grenades at it. This is a fun game back then, the graphics sure looked better back then too
You haven't played sniper elite 4 on the hardest difficulty then, those guys can spot you from 18 miles away and only carry one or two rounds of ammo on them at a time lmfao
I love how they made tanks in this game. They are Loud, Strong, large and heavy. Well yeah...thats what a tank is. I get chills when they drive past me in the first mission...also if you run straight into them while they are driving, you can get onto the tank (friendly tank only) it will cost a lot of health tho. Sniper elite 3 also did a great job with the Tanks.

If there were no artificial intelligence problems and a level design that was more suitable for stealth play, this game would be one of the best examples of its genre. It has an incredible WW2 - Berlin atmosphere and a very gripping, well-written story. I wish there was a remake true to the original.
This game might look basic but you can play this in total stealth by camouflaging your sniper rifle shots when you can hear explosions or fire in the background for example. Also the camouflage indicator works like in Splinter cell where shadows hide your character. Playing this on easy (cadet) is boring but for the video sake is cool to check out.

To enjoy this game, you need to know there are stealth missions what it means, not using any gun, maybe the pistol with silencer until you complete most of your objectives.

Having Played all others beside this one. This one feels a bit more Gritty and feels almost like a Sniper Wolf. Just basically a Counter Sniper, who hunts down PIGS and completes objectives with full Authority. I read the book on this one called Sniper Elite: Spear of Destiny by Jasper Bark. NOW THAT WAS GRITTY JUST LIKE THIS GAME. I love it and I wanna play this game so badly now.
Same. This game had so many more gameplay elements, every objective could have been taken in at leat 2 or more different way. The background also was more interesting and made more sense - a half german american soldier being set in berlin for his language skills and local knowledge. They also had different stealth levels, like how well you're camouflaged. You also had proper traps, could uitilize tnt in multiple ways and so on, and the pistol was not a one shot bullshit thing. This game was more set on stealth, the other one is more set on kill cams. Also I personally dislike how you can mark enemies and see their position at all times... Proper modern gameplay BS. I remember playing this game in Coop and we would memorise the enemy patrols and would do everything we could to be as stealthy as possible. The modern games are nothingl ike that unfortunately, but they have nicer graphics :S

You are supposed to be an American OSS agent infiltrated in Berlin during the end of WW2. The character wears a German sniper uniform and I don't know why, as it's not really useful, he's getting shot by any npc of the game lol.

Sniper Elite V2 is a remake of Sniper Elite 1
Having Played all others beside this one. This one feels a bit more Gritty and feels almost like a Sniper Wolf. Just basically a Counter Sniper, who hunts down PIGS and completes objectives with full Authority. I read the book on this one called Sniper Elite: Spear of Destiny by Jasper Bark. NOW THAT WAS GRITTY JUST LIKE THIS GAME. I love it and I wanna play this game so badly now.

This was the best game in this series by far. I don’t know why the devs went in the direction they did after this game.
Same. This game had so many more gameplay elements, every objective could have been taken in at leat 2 or more different way. The background also was more interesting and made more sense - a half german american soldier being set in berlin for his language skills and local knowledge.
They also had different stealth levels, like how well you're camouflaged. You also had proper traps, could uitilize tnt in multiple ways and so on, and the pistol was not a one shot bullshit thing.
This game was more set on stealth, the other one is more set on kill cams. Also I personally dislike how you can mark enemies and see their position at all times... Proper modern gameplay BS.
I remember playing this game in Coop and we would memorise the enemy patrols and would do everything we could to be as stealthy as possible. The modern games are nothingl ike that unfortunately, but they have nicer graphics :S

@@SecondKira17 Coop was the least amazing compared to the rest of the gameplayy features I mentioned. Shame they don't make good games any more these days.

I didn't even remember that I had played the first version of SNIPER ELITE. It was only when I saw some of this gameplay that I remembered.
This game need a remake tô next gen. The best of serie.
I hope they do a remake of this game , my favorite game his better than 2 & 3 in term of missions.
This level used to put me on edge, still does, there's something about this exact level that makes me feel scared.

I just played this game on my ps2. I'm on mission 2(assassinate boring man lol) and just searching for walkthroughs. Btw love the graphics on pc so smooth and clean

A really nice game for die hard fans of the series and for those who like playing hard games. Also cause it is not graphically demanding, you can play this game without a graphics card. Wish there was a remastered version.

Hehe I wasn't being sarcastic. He really shot him from a very small opening and the bullet did go through it.. which means that the game realised that there's a tiny gap in there... which is really cool! Most modern games wouldn't be this precise

Same. 25 now and I still remember how good SE1 was. I was a kid and I remember that when I first got the bullet camera hit an enemy's face I got quite scared. Only after I played the 2nd and 3rd game did I really appreciate how good the first one really was. The best game in the series for me.

You are supposed to be an American OSS agent infiltrated in Berlin during the end of WW2. The character wears a German sniper uniform and I don't know why, as it's not really useful, he's getting shot by any npc of the game lol.
