I used to speedrun this game my best time was around 48 mins on pc which is easier than ps1 but Ive always struggled with Nemmy when i actually wanted to face him fair and square and not to be running past him in order to get some extra time i mean hes no joke it requires some time to master him not to mention the first encouter with him 20 years ago when you had no idea what to expect from him you died in a few sec it was a nightmare lol
In the first and second encounter, Jill used 54 bullets using the M92F Custom. In the third one, it was 39 (using the STI Eagle 6.0). In the 4th encounter, one explosive, 5 normal bullets and 36 powered bullets using the M92F Custom (Nemesis was really strong in this path!!!). In the 4th alternative encounter, it was necessary only one explosive barrel + 22 powered bullets using the M92F Custom again (it's easier to knock him off). 34 shots in the 5th encouter using the M92F Custom with powered bullets. At the train, 6th encounter, it was necessary 31 shots using the STI Eagle 6.0 with regular bullets. At the clock tower, 7th encounter, Jills used one explosive and 26 shots using M92F Custom with powered bullets. In the 8th encounter, when Jill is poisoned, it was used 34 powered bullets from M92F Custom. Carlos got 42 shots with handgun in Nemesis in the 9th encounter. Jill returns and knock Nemesis off with 25 powered bullets in their 10th encounter. In the 11th, Jill used 11 freeze rounds with Grenade Launcher. Finally, in the final encouter, it's not necessary to count anymore rsrs...
Correct me if I wrong but in the 4th encounter I counted the explosive + 5 normal bullets + 21 powered bullets (7 to drop him the first time and another 14 to kill him for good) which is consistent with the other encounters (around 28-30 powered bullets)

At the time, and I remember playing it about a year after the release, Nemesis was a big thing in horror games and in a way pioneered the mainstream active pursuit horror genre despite the technical limitations.

Very true, it's the first 2 encounters I die the most after that nemesis seems to get weaker and weaker with every defeat. I didn't even die one time fighting him after the 1st and 2nd encounter
I'm still saddened that the remake of this was way shorter and missing most of the areas. Thankfully the director of Resident Evil 2 Remake is working on Resident Evil 4 2023. I'm so relieved. Anyways though... I wish I knew this stuff years ago... This is some serious skill and awesome tactics lmao
20yrs later & still can’t dodge. I get it once in awhile but I swear it’s by accident. The only corner trick I ever knew was the police office. I only learned it about 10yrs ago when I watched someone else do it on TH-cam. It’s time to crack open the PS1 & finally get all of the goodies Nemmy drops..
Dodge can only be triggered if you press aim+action/shoot at the same time the hit is about to land. One trick to make it easier is to turn your back to the attack as you will have more animation time to trigger it.

Back then as a kid ,the only places i can trap nemesis was the book shelf in the rpd and the fountain area at the clock tower. Its been 23 years since I last played it lol I wish I knew more of these secret walls back then
In the last encounter with Carlos in the main hall you just have to go to the corner where the columns are, you walk there until Nemesis enters a bug, he will automatically move towards the door and the only thing you have to do is keep your distance and shoot
this is interesting maaaaan. I had to watch the full video just to see how are you killing Nemesis from the beginning all the way to the last part of the game. you unlocked more than 22 years of memories.
A most impressive run. My speedruns were always just barely scraping through to get the top rank. I always did struggle a bit with 3's controls even on the PS1.
Important note: to fight nemesis in clock tower without his rocket launcher . When mikhail death cutscene you will forced to choose either jump from cable car window or use emergency brake so choose the brake after that carlos come to aid jill and destroy nemesis launcher that make the battle slightly easy then use you freeze rounds to knock this beast down.

The reasons why I'm not replaying RE3 nemesis as much as RE2 and RE1 is because I'm always having difficult time facing Nemesis on Hard mode but Thanks for making this awesome guide , I'm enjoying replaying RE3 classic now on seamless HD project

One of my Fav games ever! Did you know you can run through the whole game and actually only have to face Nemesis 2 or 3 times. The rest of the time you can run away from him and eventually he stops chasing you.
First of all, I applaud you for finding ways to beat Nemesis using mostly a handgun under hard difficulty, more so even with Carlos. I do have to note that two fights could have been easily won, the first by hiding in the kitchen and thus collecting the item; the second by using the cord to electrocute Nemesis. I take it as you were putting up a challenge as to take on Nemesis fully by yourself and using other things. Thank you for including the Grave digger fight, something I loathe to this very day, and also for taking our Nikolai, which I figured back when I was a kid by using that key to get the Rocket Launcher... Gosh I miss those days where you truly needed to turn every nook and cranny rather than find everything online ... it truly felt like an achievement, especially for a non-native who played the game in English. I also think you could have easily blown the final Nemesis form with the RL, but then again you took on a challenge that is saluted. I rarely watch long videos, especially without speeding up x2 ... this was an exception. So thank you! Looking forward to more videos of other RE titles! 🙌
Fun fact: "Nemesis" is actually the game title, not the tyrant type's name, the real name of this kind of tyrant its "Pursuer" but all fans named Nemesis because of the title of the game and stayed like that, and im not a single bit mad about it.
In RE: Gun Survivor there's a file with a picture of him that refers to him as Nemesis as well. It also says that only 2 of then were made, as the Nemesis parasite destroyed all tyrants it was injected into except for those two. The other Nemesis removed his restraints, killed the Umbrella team and tried to escape, but was hunted down and destroyed. Nemesis project was canceled after that as regular tyrants were good (and stable) enough. The only reason they deployed the remaining Nemesis there to hunt STARS is because they already beaten ghe previous Tyrant and they considered it a calculated risk.
I think in the game there’s a file or note whatever its called that refers to him as “Pursuer” but also there’s another file that refers to him as “Nemesis” however I’m going based on my memory so I could be wrong…
What would've been funny in the remake (despite people gating the game) would be during the chase sequence if your character ran past certain corners and/or doorways Nemesis would stop running and simply walk around the obstacle and then attack. It should be a hidden trophy/achievement to say "sorry Jill no invisible wall this time."
The very first Resident Evil I ever played, that's why I am so in love with this game and it's MY favorite no matter what others say. Jill Valentine here is my crush! So when NEW Jill faces come it always disappoints me.

The first two encounters are the ones that are the toughest due to only having weaker weapons and very limited ammo

Fun fact: "Nemesis" is actually the game title, not the tyrant type's name, the real name of this kind of tyrant its "Pursuer" but all fans named Nemesis because of the title of the game and stayed like that, and im not a single bit mad about it.
One of the game files encountering scattered says one guy finds "nemesis" so refers clearly to the tyrant monster.
In RE: Gun Survivor there's a file with a picture of him that refers to him as Nemesis as well.
It also says that only 2 of then were made, as the Nemesis parasite destroyed all tyrants it was injected into except for those two.
The other Nemesis removed his restraints, killed the Umbrella team and tried to escape, but was hunted down and destroyed. Nemesis project was canceled after that as regular tyrants were good (and stable) enough. The only reason they deployed the remaining Nemesis there to hunt STARS is because they already beaten ghe previous Tyrant and they considered it a calculated risk.
I think in the game there’s a file or note whatever its called that refers to him as “Pursuer” but also there’s another file that refers to him as “Nemesis” however I’m going based on my memory so I could be wrong…
Fun fact: In the cabin before the final gravedigger fight you can find a file that says someone had encountered the "Nemesis" IIRC.
Grew up watching my dad play these games, he would have a had a field day if he new about this.

What would've been funny in the remake (despite people gating the game) would be during the chase sequence if your character ran past certain corners and/or doorways Nemesis would stop running and simply walk around the obstacle and then attack. It should be a hidden trophy/achievement to say "sorry Jill no invisible wall this time."

Man, watching these fights I feel very sad bcs I like so much the remake but how insane it could be if they just don't forgotten the essential of the original... Imagine facing nemesis in police station, a lot of zombies, fear of jumpscare like Mr X destroying the wall when Leon pick up STARS card
