I know why it isn't. Because so much of the game is linked together by quick time event sequences and chases which lead down linear paths with points of no return, there's nowhere to set mercenaries like the original. Think about it, the starting area is nowhere near big enough to accommodate it. It worked in the original because the raccoon city area before taking the cable car was large enough that getting from one end to the other with hordes of monsters in the way is actually quite challenging. In the Resident Evil 2 Remake they brought back the fourth survivor because they had kept most of the map from the original game and it still worked, but in 3's remake they'd changed it too drastically for mercenaries to work. They probably shouldn't have done that, but short of creating an incredibly large bespoke area for it, there wasn't any way to put it in. I suppose they could have still put a Resident Evil 4-style mercenaries mode in, but even then the maps aren't really built for that kind of gameplay.
Sadly true. They introduced him wounded and even then he was dangerous to BOW's. If properly done, you could see a cutscene of him mowing down zombies and being frustrated that he can't help due to his injuries. He even squared up against Nemesis with said wounds and went out with a bang. Mikhail was a warrior who fought till the very end and in my opinion is on par with Barry Burton.
I am really disappointed in the Remake of this game. It's not a bad game by any stretch but it's missing so many things. I also dislike how it's in top gear throughout (Game starts with the bloody Nemesis, some buildup would have been much better). I honestly just wanted this game as it is just as a third-person shooter.
What devastates me is casuals defending it and trying to make resistance sound cool. When they never played the original or even heard of RE outbreak 😑.

I shouldn't have laughed so hard when I heard the "Help me!" but the headshot that followed it honestly made it seem like you just decapitated the person shouting for you.
As a kid i knew where all the people i needed to rescue were located, but i was never good enough to save them all. I only managed a B, saving 3 or 4 dudes. I remember some of them i just couldnt save because i lacked ammo or sometimes time. What a great game this was, wasted hours on this mode.
The most technically proficient and precise play thru i have ever seen for the mercenary missions on RE3. You made it look easy, saved all 6 people and continuously accumulated time up to roughly 18.5 minutes at completion. Bravo that was impeccable work.
Chrono Trigger, Half-Life 2, Mass Effect 2, Final Fantasy VII, Dead Space, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time...I mean, come on. Halo: Combat Evolved. Dark Souls. The list of games that tops RE3 is staggering. But it is a hard game (If you actually fight Nemesis) and a good game.
Yes. 100%. I played re2 begore re2 remake and while re2 was really good the re2 remake was better. Re2 8.5/10 Re2 remake 9.2/10 Then i bought re3remake on a whim for 20$, finished it and then played the original... i just finished it and yeah... i wouldn't even say re3 nemesis is that good. The remake was straight up WAY better. Re3 nemesis 6.5/10 Re3remake 7.5/10.
It's a shame that there is no second half of the game in the mercenaries as a separate selectable map. Imagine running from an yard in front of Clock Tower to the helicopter landing spot, that'd be amazing...

I wish I knew how to mod this game, I got some ideas about extra additions, motly more unlocks from The Mercenaries shop: -Rise the price of the infinite guns to double their cost (AR 4000, Gatling 6000, RL 8000). -Add Assault Rifle (100%) and Rocket Launcher (4 shots) but way cheaper than their infinite versions. -Add the basic weapons as well. -Allow to buy ammo for weapons (up to 3 of each before they "sold out"), including AR magazines. -Replace the Infinite Ammo for all weapons for the consumable dropped from Nemesis 7th kill (also up to 3). -Add Sidepack (comes equiped by default, not needing to reach the first vault) -Add 3-Spray Packs to buy (up to 3) And also add a Randomizer, a Harder than Hard mode where enemies are tougher and deal more damage as well as zombie packs being bigger when they are not replaced by more dangerous enemies. Could also add a Time Trial mode which is the base game but it works the same as The Mercenaries: you get +secs per kill, with bonus for kill streaks but if you run out of time you die. Hmmm... perhaps I should learn to code.
Damn I'm not the only one who was extremely disappointed that they didn't remaster this specific gem onto the remake, i loved the og re3 but Im gonna be honest I spent more time playing mercenaries than I did the story mode.

Now I consider RE0, RE1 (2002) Remake or RE1 (1996) Original, RE2 (1998), RE3: Nemesis (1999), RE: CVX, RE4, RE: Revelations 1, RE5, RE: Revelations 2, RE6 and RE7 to be personal true favorites and established canon lore otherwise. It makes you wonder why the hell did they didn't try to make or include the Extreme Mode from RE2 or RE3 Original's Mercenaries Mode?

I was thinking the same thing. I dont remember the shotgun being able to hit a full screen of zombies. Something's not right. I noticed it's the Japanese version and heard that version is way easier so maybe that has something to do with it.
I think an effective strategy is to look very carefully at where the barrel of your gun is positioned after you aim. Take note of how far from your body the weapon is. Now you have to time it so that zombies are just within that range but simultaneously far enough away that by the time your gun is pulled up the collision boxes of your character and the zombie overlap. That's how I do it because the firing technique isn't effective enough for easy use against zombies (no obvious attack animation).

I think that the items hostage give you are not defined by character but the order he rescues them, so for example he must know that the 4 and 5th hostage gave him first aid sprays (he wont need it because he wont have any damage) or another thing he wont need and the 6th give hil the enhanced shotgun bullets
I'm not great at Mercenaries by any means, but can someone explain these leg shots killing all the zombies one hit? If I shoot them in the legs they just crawl around after. Especially killing both zombies in the Gas Station lobby with one shot, please teach me that trick! (i'm not being sarcastic, i'd just love to learn how to get better at this game) Big fan of your videos, thank you for posting them!! :)
He's shooting down because a blast from any distance will take out zombies' legs and even though they're not dead, knocking out the legs count as a kill in mercenaries and means he can build a huge combo with one shot. As for the shotgun damage, it doesn't have max damage at all distances, but the legs always go if you hit them regardless of distance. If you aimed for the head or the torso it wouldn't work very well unless you were up close.
It is headcanon to me that Mikhail saved Vickers and Branagh. Who you later meet in the storyline, Mikhail still being mobile. But they all die in the end.
I think the remake is really $30 but theyre charging an extra 30 because of resistance, which is an ok game at best. If it had single off line playability, then it would be better.
Marvelous play! And one of the things I missed the most in the original, is you can use Mikhail to save the civilians in MERC. That remake disaster cut soooo much out, it didn't really count for me, the original RE3 is still IT. RE2R was beautiful tho.

I think that the items hostage give you are not defined by character but the order he rescues them, so for example he must know that the 4 and 5th hostage gave him first aid sprays (he wont need it because he wont have any damage) or another thing he wont need and the 6th give hil the enhanced shotgun bullets

I'm not great at Mercenaries by any means, but can someone explain these leg shots killing all the zombies one hit? If I shoot them in the legs they just crawl around after. Especially killing both zombies in the Gas Station lobby with one shot, please teach me that trick! (i'm not being sarcastic, i'd just love to learn how to get better at this game)

I have a question about the shotgun. 1. Can you shoot from a distance like in the beginning in the US version? 2. Why is it that your shooting down?
He's shooting down because a blast from any distance will take out zombies' legs and even though they're not dead, knocking out the legs count as a kill in mercenaries and means he can build a huge combo with one shot. As for the shotgun damage, it doesn't have max damage at all distances, but the legs always go if you hit them regardless of distance. If you aimed for the head or the torso it wouldn't work very well unless you were up close.
Shooting down won't straight kill everything at range but gets brilliant groupage ,this chap most prob plays it on hard allot

It is headcanon to me that Mikhail saved Vickers and Branagh.
Who you later meet in the storyline, Mikhail still being mobile.
But they all die in the end.
Still play to this day and it's one of my favourite games of all time ❤️

I think the remake is really $30 but theyre charging an extra 30 because of resistance, which is an ok game at best. If it had single off line playability, then it would be better.

Marvelous play! And one of the things I missed the most in the original, is you can use Mikhail to save the civilians in MERC. That remake disaster cut soooo much out, it didn't really count for me, the original RE3 is still IT. RE2R was beautiful tho.
