@@hugonewguy4009 he is playing live. There is a tool that is allowed in RE3 speedruns that replaces magnum with grenade launcher. So, if you get magnum later on it gets replaced. Yes, this is legal. It's to reduce the amount of RNG and resets. It's all legit and legal.

In the time of 3:54 min, he picks up MAGNUM. In the time of 6:36 min the slot is already changed to Grenade Laucher! What happened in the meantime???
It's a tool for speedrunners that changes it so that you will always get the grenade launcher from that locker. If you're wondering, this tool is allowed because it's one of the only RNG parts of the game that is a reset if you get the wrong RNG 100% of the time, and it's a part that you are unable to manage. (Unlike safsprin/adravil/aquacure RNG for example, which is at most a time loss)

The new RE3 Remake brought me here.
Re3 remake was slightly disappointing because of all the cut parts. Nemesis wasn't as tension inducing either. It nice tho

I know this is way late, but he uses the PC sourcenext version patched to work on windows 10, there's several tutorials on TH-cam on how to get it running

How did you do to quickly close the doors cinematics ?, that allowed you to win at least 5 minutes
PC versions of the game has what is called by door skip, you can skip door animations pressing the same button used to open the map. But every door in the game has its own exact time to be skipped, it's not instant and you can't mash it out to skip as fast as possible, so speedrunners need to learn the exact time skip from every door in the game to skip their animations as fast as possible.
i dont get it ..... at the scene at : 5:54 you have the magnum. At the scene at 6:51 its a grenade launcher :O ? How ?

The speedrun.com community agreed to accept runs played with the "grenade launcher-tool" (GLT) - so even he picked up the magnum it will be replaced by the grenade launcher

Lady Redfield the replace tool, basically makes it so whatever you pick up is a grenade launcher. It’s allowed in RE3 speedruns.

I feel like that tool should not be allowed. It basically controls the RNG. Might as well have the tool control all the RNG in the game if you're gonna already basically cheat. That would be like a Pokemon speed run, but a tool was used to get 100% crit rates, like what's the point
honestly, I've said it before, I'll say it again, a TRUE speed run should not be TAS or Glitched in any way, i cannot acknowledge someone's skills in this instance as it is not what the game intended you to do. true skills is taking the game for what it is, raw, though a few i game exploits are allowed
