The new Audi A6 has barged it's way into the company car park and is determined to stay, but can it live up to the hype and fend off the competition of its premium German rivals?

All three brand are very good. Don't listen to people this and that. Go out and test drive the cars and see which you like the best. At the end of the day it's your money so buy what the fuck you want and like don't listen to this and that.

I have a new 535i and I like it and have owned a E320..and liked that as well. Plus the new Audi A6 seems fantastic. All are nice cars IMO, but I love the sexy of the 535i..perceived value is in the eye of the beholder.

I live in Northeast Ohio where winters can be really snowy and cold so for me Audi is the way to go. The quattro system is the best awd system I have ever driven. I also love that its fun to drive when it's nice out too. Audi really stepped it up. I do disagree with him saying the BMW was the most fun having driven both the BMW (even in "sport mode" felt like an old heavy cadillac compared to the Audi. I'm not saying the BMW is bad but in this price range BMW needs to step it up and update the power train it is unacceptable.

if i would have a sedan i took the bmw. but audi builds still the most beautifull wagons. audi a4 and a6 avant :) i like it!
@londonas2 not anymore, the 2012 facelifted XF got a new 2.2l 4 cylinder engine that traveled from burmigham to munich with only one full tank, but without any compromises in terms of power

Doing +- 40 000Km / year mostly highway. I'd like to have confort, not having noise such as wind, and good reliability !

100% agreed, if You buy audi, You can buy VW Passat, it`s the same but cheaper. Mercedes is all about feeling in it, I got mine year ago, and I love it more and more every day!!!

@philocamz fair enough, well this 2.0l can do about 800 miles on one tank so they both are quite similar in terms of economy but i would think that the jag would cost more than the audi

@randomdaz the 2.0 TDI is FWD, so is the 3.0 TDI with 204hp....
@Scudeyyy - he said you have to pay for extras to make the BMW drive the most sporty. Also the starting price of the BMW is cheaper but the Audi has lower running costs because it is more efficient and has a better resale value.
I'm glad I drive in the US, since I could never shift with my left hand! I am right handed so I am more precise with it...although I can steer better with my left (which is steadier).

The A6 is nasty, beautiful and smart inside and out, I have driven all 3 and the Audi could be classified as the perfect car
I' am getting the E Class in 2013....not the latest though!
So the game moves on. Nice effort from Audi, but I won't be dropping my merc for either of e'm.
the a6 has a problem where sometimes the bonnet opens when ur going around 100mph on a motorway or whatever

Nope, Audi does not have any 2 Liter Engine paired with quattro. Only 2.8FSI or the small 3.0TDI with 204HP. BMW has a 2 Liter Diesel engine with two turbos and xDrive, the 525xd.

Fair enough, although I am a BMW enthusiast, I will agree that the Audi gets points for all it's standard features but what truly matters is the drive and like this man said, the Bimmer is the most fun to drive.

@kodestan MB and BMW have cars that look similar too. It's normal with all car companies. Audi has at least slightly changed their models from how they looked before, and not just by a bit. It's actually funny how people talk about Audi and how their cars look exactly the same when the fact is, they don't.

in the states all our audis are quattro except for the A3 i think. the Euro audis come standard with FWD, i guess it makes it cheaper there.

@Amidat The BMW is better to drive in its normal setting than all of those cars anyways. With extras, its in a different league. Ive checked with a test drive of both. You need to see it for yourself. And the difference in running costs are minimal. eg the 520d does almost the same mpg, it depends on the driver at the end of the day. And resale values would be almost the same. +the BMW costs more with the same spec. Mine costs a whopping 9k more than the starting price of a 535i.
I think the e class looks really bad next to the other 2(I am a merc. fan).
But I think what is going to to make up the decisions between all these cars is, which is most reliable with after sale price?

@IgniSound Did he not say it otherwise front wheel drive. why not compare it to an x drive bmw and a 4 matic merc. Don't get me wrong i'm not saying the car is not excellent but for the most correct comparison they need equitable contenders.

This seemed like more of a review between the Audi and BMW.
I was torn between buying the new 5-series or the new A6. In the end Audi made me a good deal price wise. I have had the A6 since september and I am loving the car. However every time I see the new 5 series, especially in white I can't help but feel like I should of gone for the 5 series. I think the cars are a very close call. This will be my last Audi however, I have had one before and I think once you have driven one you have driven them all.
@HENZO2111 A4 has a common error when milege goes to around 150k and tt sometimes does it but only with its dsg 7 speed.
All are good and i'd be happy to have any of them, i am an audi fan but i wouldn't cry if i'd have a merc or a bmw lol

as i know, audi has 2.0tdi + awd, and Bmw doesn`t, couse 525xd is not 2 liters engine it is 2.5 i think)

the Audi's headlights are unbelievable, however the rear lights are very plain..
Before you criticise ask yourself this...
1) which car looks the best
2) which car is most VFM
3) which car has the best interior
4) which car makes u feel like you made it
5) which car turns heads
I would have the A5 Sportback

What is this guy talkin bout the BMW & Mercedes keep their value alot better that Audi. A 2010 Audi a6 4.2 is worth 54,000 while the 2010 BMW 550i is worth 62-63,000

@londonas2 actually the price tag is quite similar, but jaguar's advantage is that it already comes with all the options. Germans are famous for taking extra for them...
