Block Paved Driveway Weed Removal & Cleaning Cambridge
So changing it up again on this video. I've gone only slightly sped up, no music, and the only talking is in the intro.
I've adjusted the sound settings as much as I can to try and reduce the background hum from my pressure washer. It's not perfect, but it's the best I could achieve with the editing software I use (iMovie).

Appreciate that you talked about the job condition and then why you chose using a turbo to deal with it. That was turning out very nicely and had extra pretty brick re-appearing. That really was quite a "grime line" difference. Good idea using the board, to get under difficult "overgrown bush" areas. This change is really quite nice...no lichen, no grime, no weeds in cracks and the nice show-off of the designed brickwork. Best wishes to the owner with her new "shiney clean" area and attractive plants. A very attractive final result.

It’s as if you’re painting with the sand! Lovely to watch. Seriously good job, but I think you should have left the flowering ones alone as they were so sweet and decorative. I LOVE THE SANDING PART!!! I am from America and we do not have driveways like this at all anywhere near where I've ever been. We may have them but I've never seen anything like this at all so I'm beyond intrigued and satisfied watching this part of your show. Can you do a "start to finish real time" video on the sanding portion of one of your driveways you do? And get some close up shots???? I would LOVE that if you could.
We do have areas here in the states; mostly the New England area and other's that were settled early. It's available if you can afford it.
They have brick driveways in Pittsburgh as well. In some of the boroughs they also have brick & cobblestone roads.
Really wish a group of them could go there for a week or two and do those roads. It is disastrous during the rain/snow. Slipping and sliding all over the place.

Amazing...what about a sealer , like is used on stained concrete to make it look new longer bringing out the colors ? Either shine , semigloss or matte .

Do you use the customer water or do you fetch your own, if you use the customer’s own from her mains, then god help her water bill on top of the price it would cost to clean up 20 years of grime, but if you divided the total cost by 20 years then it doesn’t sound much.
It's common practice to use the customers water supply, and costs very little in water. A job like this would add maybe £1-2 extra to her water bill 👍
I am quite new to this kind of video, so I didn’t get why the sand. What is the purpose of doing that? Thanks in advance whoever answer my question.
Hi Alexandre, sand is applied to block paving to keep the blocks stabilised and in position. When it's cleaned by pressure washing, a certain amount of that sand is removed, and needs to be replaced.

That’s an 8/10 grime line! Nice and straight, but then it should be with bricks to follow…..there was a small puddle obscuring part of it and the dirty side needed rinsing. Otherwise fantastic!! I have a patio that looks just like the ‘before’!! It’s on my ‘to do’ list 😆

I remember doing my own similar paving (but much bigger area) when it was in that state once- the quantity of moss and mud that came off it was amazing.Well done. Doing the weedkiller after will also help a lot.

From my memories of the UK, a blue sky simply meant it was going to rain or just had rained. If it was raining, you would know about it. Biblical in some cases!

Spent 2 weeks in London and 2 weeks in Paris for our honeymoon London is one of the best spots I have been Paris is like going to Baltimore city with Pilly mixed in if I never go back to Paris I'll be just fine. Loved London tho and definitely no blue sky the entire time I was there.

The weeds were trying to reclaim the land. LOL My favorite part of the videos is when you spread the white stuff on the ground. Is that called sodium hydrochloride (aka sodium hypochloride)? Always a clean job done.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 What happens if it rains soon after you spread the sand. Does it wash away?

You will beat the stand out of that patio ! Cause it to sink in areas! Best to kill the weeds not beat them out! Lazy way! Extra expense to owners in repair. Will start holding water.
Incorrect! The blocks are 2-3 inches thick, the cleaning process removes 1/2 an inch of sand at the most. Which is then replaced at the end - this is clearly shown in the video.
I fail to see how using a pressure washer to remove the weeds, and cleaning the blocks in the process, which is what the customer wants, is “lazy” compared to just killing them. Which was also clearly done and shown in the video 🤷🏻♂️
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning and you can replace the sand but it beats the sand from under the patio blocks. Cause it to sink and then hold water. I know I have one and a power washer! I know what they do to block.
@@cherylwilliams2787 As I said before, the pressure washing only removes 1/2 an inch of sand at the most, the water from the lance and pressure washing does not reach down to the bottom of the blocks, so causes no disturbance to the base layer of sand what so ever. What I am saying is 100% correct, I do this for a living, and have done for 11 years. If your base has been effected by pressure washing the blocks, then it’s highly likely your blocks weren’t laid properly in the first place. A properly laid block paved area will not be effected by pressure washing what so ever.
