  • A little shorter and not as detailed as previous videos, but I fell in love with this design and just had to make the best out of it. Hope you enjoy nevertheless!

    Legends New Republic: "It's better to be safe than sorry."
    Canon New Republic: "I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that."

    The New Republic Nebula and Endurance combo mirrors the Republic Victory and Venator combo so much. I honestly want to see more of the former in action.

    Gotta admit, the Nebula is practically the perfect stardestroyer. Damn sexy too. Well done!

    Sexiest ship in Star Wars by far. Most beautiful kite. The Remake team did a phenomenal job recreating this. To think that the original was one of the ugly things from the Cracken's Threat Dossier.

    The Nebula is a very sleek looking ship, and that helps make her look less massive and intimidating but it also makes her look more modern. She's got the firepower of an ISD on a smaller, faster and better shielded hull thanks to mon-cal shield advancements. A great video about an oft forgotten class, and as always lovely to hear that voice, you've got a very good speaking voice that would be great for audio books etc.

    My favorite ship in Legends. A solid Jack of All Trades that NOT too big because really big things tend to get wrecked by little things in Star Wars(3 A-wings vs. the Executor, R2-D2 vs Eclipse Super Star Destroyer and Galaxy Gun, etc.)

    The blessed algorithm has bestowed upon us a small channel making quality content? What a day! These really remind me of early-day Spacedock analysis videos.
    I, whose editorial experiences don't extend past simple student films, have some thoughts I'd like to share. There's no need to take me seriously.
    =====My nitpicks ======
    Less is More: I find when there's quite a bit going on on screens, simpler transitions, like basic fade/cross dissolve and hard cut when appropriate, are less disruptive. Or even make use of all sorts of wipes that Star Wars is so fond of, tie it back to the franchise. As for other effects, I personally think the highlight border is a bit thiccc, and prefer the "call out" title because it's less prominent.
    Audio: The music choice is great and fitting but can be a bit loud. Your voice is deep and calming, and can definitely stand out, but at times the music volume can be dominating, despite not covering your voice.
    Scripts: Well-written and informative, but I think they all could use a short conclusion like the one in your Imperial I video. This is also where creativity can really shine, perhaps a deeper dive into the actual aesthetics, be it technical design language or your personal thoughts.
    Camera Movement: This might be moot due to the limitation of the (I presume) game controls. But when there are fighters buzzing and turbo laser pewpew-ing, a jittering camera can be distracting. Even in CGI Hollywood slops the more swooping the cameras are, the more video game-like the footage would seem. Practical effects often require fixed or limited camera movement, which contributes to the grounded feeling. ((Also sometimes the cursor was left in frame, such attention to details could really elevate your videos)
    In any case, passion and heart was on display, and that really is the most important part. I wish you every success!

    Some slight missphrasing, it is not in fact the largest ever deployed by the New Republic. The Captured Executor class Lusankya as well as the Viscount-class Star Defender dreadnought are all much larger vessels. I would also note the title car is unnecessary, anyone who knows the Expanded Universe will know this is not a Disney vessel and if you are struggling to find detailed information on these ships I happen to know where you might find some. I think the Comparison with the Venator at the beginning was a slight misstep, while it is a vessel you've covered previous it makes more sense to compare it with other Rebellion ships such as the more common MC80 Liberty type which served the Alliance fleet to contrast how theyve grown with the transformation into the New Republic. The Endurance was good to mention however the red map makes it near impossible to see even on max resolution, avoid the usage of heavily saturated maps if you can for capturing visuals unless you can put a darker colored vessel to be seen in the contrast. Also your ending comment could have been to make note of the fact that this vessel shows the effectiveness and power of the classic Star Destroyer wedge design that even with the fall of the Empire it endures as an Icon of the New Republic fleet.

      @WolfeSaber9933 Well he didn't exactly touch on any of the actual lore inconsistencies created by things like the depiction and older stats in Cracken's Threat Dossier vs Starships of the Galaxy and others. If you simply mean his misunderstanding of other ships within the New Republic fleet I don't hold that against him. He's clearly coming at this from a semi less informed perspective or is picking up these older lore bits as he does research into these things.

    Giving the New Republic a heroic looking counterpart to the Imperial Star Destroyer is a clever and cathartic development in the Legends canon, it's a thematic reversal of the dynamic of corvettes and fighters against Star Destroyers and something the New Republic would logically do, taking lessons from both the old Republic Navy and the Imperial Navy.
    I know this is a dead horse, but the Disney canon reverting to evil Star Destroyers vs goodie stub fighters and a small fleet of little ships was the most boring story choice possible.
