If they were skilled enough to pull of such a masterful scam, they probably wouldn't've gotten into scamming at all. Industries like that tend to take the dregs; a mind that could outplay the Shrimp would likely be hard at work at NASA (the Nigerian Air/Space Academy) or someplace similar.

That is from the movie 'The Prince of Tides' where an abused wife fed her husband dog food and told him it was meatloaf.
Shortly after the movie came out I went into a public toilet and another guy there had a wife who tried the same thing, only with cat food and everyone knew it.

I don't even like canned tuna anymore, unfortunately. I think my tastebuds have gotten more sensitive over time. Not sure why. Thanks for braving this for us and giving us an idea of what it's like, though. I definitely won't be buying this, then. It's a shame, too, cause I was just thinking of what they could possibly use for the vegan equivalent of sushi. I mean, technically, it's entirely possible to make a 100% vegan sushi roll, as avacado rolls do exist, for example, and sushi doesn't mean "raw fish", it just means certain ingredients prepared with a kind of seasoned rice. You can have entirely vegan ingredients and still have it be "real" sushi. I just hate how we're basically driving a lot of fish species extinct. If they can work on the so-called "clean meat" (lab grown and basically cruelty free) version of many traditional sushi ingredients, that would be fantastic.

Ive noticed an interesting debate regarding lab grown meat in the vegan communities. It mainly seems to boil down to the reason for why a person became a vegan in the first place, and many vegans would happily eat lab grown meat for instance. Personally, I love the idea and would definitely try it.

Vegan sushi has become more popular over the last few years! Adding seaweed really helps give things a fishy taste.
If you’re looking to make a vegan tuna salad-type dish, try mashing up chickpeas as a tuna replacement. It’s delicious!

When you said you used some cucumber, I immediately thought "Damn, pickles would have probably been better..." because I know how bland soy products can be. You want to get as much flavor from other ingredients in as possible! Within reason of course. Then you said it yourself. I mean, it was too late for your sandwich, but it will come in handy for any vegan who stumbles upon this! Plus I never knew there was vegan substitute for tuna. The more you know!

@@orok6351 I don't mean vegan or vegetarian sausages, burgers etc. (I'm not a veggie but prefer veggie versions of these often) I mean when they actually try and re-create the taste of a specific type of meat or a tuna in this case. If you try and re-create the flavour & texture of any complex organic compound using substitutes it is only common sense it is going to fail.

Not a vegan. I am waiting for the day that rather than trying to emulate non vegan foods, some vegan chef will develop foods specifically for vegans. Maybe it is the nomenclature that confuses me. Certainly, there are some vegan foods that need to be made to fit in the normal sandwich realm, ergo buns, bread, rolls. I once had a vegan sandwich (in a vegan restaurant) and it was simply called a bean patty. It was dressed with vegan mayo, tomato, lettuce, onion and alfalfa sprouts and a splash of amino (sub for soy sauce). It was delicious. It looked like a hamburger, but is wasn't, and I appreciated it for what it was; a bean patty. Great taste, moist, great texture.

No, if at all - the lies about PETA has given idiots the idea they can whitewash their guilty conscience about meat. If you are one of those "knowing" everything about PETA, i suggest looking up "center for consumer freedom". There is nothing militant about protests against animal abuse, let alone this being a small minority of vegan lifestyle.
