- Hey guys I wanna show you how I fixed my dji phantom 4 battery!! Saved money 195$ for a new one from dji I hope this helps anyone that has the same problem as I did! Your the ONLY one on TH-cam that actually show EXACTLY how to do this and explain it in very good detail and show EVERY step. I really appreciate that brother for real! My battery charged back up but it was shot due to water damage but in your case charge that battery back up and you’re good!

You’re welcome!! Getting the battery back to life was easy but getting it to talk to the drone and power up correctly is another ball game
Thanks for the video. FWIW, your Tenergy charger is for Nickel Metal Hydride and Nickel Cadmium batterys, and will charge Lithium batteries but not in a Smart way, so not safe unless monitored to avoid damage. Regards

I have the same problem pretty much that the battery won't charge, the only difference is I get one light flashing sixteen times, stops then repeat. So I'm wondering if I open it, charge it with my nicad charger will i still have to do a reset. Thanks for sharing this video.
Yeah man that’s the thing it really just depends on how long the battery sat in my case my battery the output prongs that connect to the actual drone and charger wasn’t putting out the voltage it needed to turn on the phantom 4 it got wet. That said if yours is just dead charge that baby up to full 15v. Then after that reset the battery with alligator clips one on negative pad then the other side tap the little tiny reset pad and you should be golden bro ik this was long but refer to the video on how to do that or I can make another in depth video for you just let me know man 😁

Hi bro, I have a problem:
after opening and fully charging the battery pack at 17,38 volts I do the reset manouver but nothing happens. After connecting for a while the negative pole to the RST connecction, it start blinking the first led and no way to exit to this "frozen" mode. Any other advice? Please hep me because my two battery are the same. 🙏🏻
Hey bud sorry I read ur comment this morning but I was getting ready for work to respond but on the battery on the back side at the bottom the board if you look I believe on the ground side there should be a reset pad if I’m not mistaken you have to jump the 2 together ground and reset to actually be able to control the battery I’ll relook at it and let you know if it’s the other way like positive pad to reset. Hope this makes sense.
So yeah I went back and looked and at 7:25 of the video I begin showing how to reset the battery for you to use it just have alligator clip in the main ground of the board and use the other side alligator clip with a fine point screwdriver to hit the reset. Watch the lights on the front to see if it lights up and turns off. Also there’s a test right next to the reset pad you can do too doing the same method to test the lights and what percent it’s sitting at. Let me know if you need anything else buddy I’ll be here
Hey brotha did you just continue to charge at 1a until all the cells took 15.2 v? How long did it take?
Yeah pretty much and took about 1hr 30 to get 15v
@@loganschultz7400 awesome, thanks for the response. So I have watched other videos where they say you have to hook up a fancy balancer to get cell voltage close together. But from what it looks like here is you were able to balance the cells automatically by just chartering them slowly on 1a.
I’m going to try and trickle charge my artery tonight.
Cell 1 has 4v
Cell 2 has 8v
Cell 3 has 11v
And if I hook my multimeter to the ground and and power aka cell 4? It has over 15.5v
Hopefully it will return back to normal after trickle charging jt

Is it safe to use a lead battery charger on a lipo battery?
I believe so works well for me and also my actual race drone betterys I charge using one aswell.

Oh heck yeah glad you found me aslong as you have a charger with alligator clips kinda like mine that you can put on the positive and negative on the board you’ll be good! Mine just didn’t work because mine was water damaged. But you charge yours back up it’ll work

Also did you ever find where to test the 4th cell? All i noticed where cell 1,2,3 contact points on the board.. hmm
Yeah it’s actually hidden kinda with a ground pad looking down at the battery you have 123 and look further like on the very edge of the board you’ll see a ground that’s your 4th cell if u can’t find it lmk I’ll post a video showing for u man

Hey Logan my battery is 0 voltage of charge, i did try to reset but nothing happen, any suggestions, thanks man for your help.
Your welcome anytime and do you have access to a charger like I have to charge up the lipo a bit? I needed to charge mine first to get it to do anything
All your really need is to get the battery voltage above 8-10 volts in order for your actual drone charger to kick in and charge

Okay so bro all I used was prying tools just flathead screw drivers to pry open the shell of the battery. Long story short my battery never came to life because it had water damage and wouldn’t allow battery to power up correctly. But if yours is not done from water then go ahead and pry and open the case at the bottom. You’ll see to black and red wires plus the pads soldered on. Put your charger on ++ and - - and charge it up. If you have a multimeter check it ever so often don’t go past 16 volts
Part 2 to checking each cell there’s little circle pads on the board you’ll need to check with a multimeter again put ground on a ground labeled gnd and then find c1 c2 c3 c4 read those and make sure all are charging about even if not let it be it’ll catch up refer back to my video on reading The cells. You can’t figure it out hit me up here I’ll make another video for you bro!
These batteries are 4 cells btw.
