1965 lawn boy, sat outside many years. will it run and mow again??

- I got this 1965 lawn boy in with a big lot of vintage lawn boy mowers. it sat outside underneath an overflowing rain gutter for atleast ten or fifteen years before I got ahold of it. its in pretty rough shape but it's all there. follow along as I try and breath new life into this old lawn boy. thank you for taking the time to watch and comment on my videos. may God bless you.

I love those classic 1960's Lawn Boy's with the iconic shiny knob spinning intake fan screen. I remember seeing a few models of that era in action growing up in the 70's and 80's.
There really is nothing like the sight sound and cut of an old lawn boy. Glad I was able to bring back some of those memories for you and really appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. May God bless you.
Very, VERY glad that those horrible ten years are behind you. Many of us have walked that terrible road, some longer than others - certainly in my case. The overwhelming sense of relief and freedom - once sobriety sets in - is indescribable. Continued peace to you.

Makes me happy seeing the older lawnboys being revived. I have a few myself, from the omc years up to when toro took over, wouldn't get rid of them for anything.

My dad had one of those and he cut grass with it for 30 years, only had to do the points and recoil one time, he wore through a few sets of tires but man that thing would always start good and run good and the smell and sound was great. I think I need to find one now.

I have one of those I took it apart years ago. Sand blast deck paint it the son put non mix gas in it ruined it. I was driving down the street one day there was a box with a lawnboy engine in it nice cylinder. Is when I re did the mower. Must have been 15 years ago. Wife mows with a 21" 1977 brick top. Those sand color ones I believe around 67 or so. I still have that mower and several other lawnboys. 60s-70s
Mike that's a great story. Ita so cool that youve saved some and even cooler that your wife still mows with a brick top. Sadly I've made my share of mistakes and ruined a few myself. Never ran one on straight gas yet but I did set the governor wrong and blew one up and I've also cracked a flywheel on another. You've definitely got to have patience,common sense,and a little knowledge to work on these. Thank you for sharing and watching. God bless.

Awesome mower! Awesome job getting it purring again! That mower is definitely worth restoring. The hammerhead shroud was 1965 only. On a different note, looks like that garage door could use a dab of paint. 😂🤪🤪 God bless you Greg!
Ron, I have this mower sold to a friend already that will give it a good home and a good going through. As for the garage it is falling in and needs taken down and not safe to work in any longer. Just trying to get the time and money together to take it down. Really appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. God bless.

We all have plenty of projects that need to be done, that seem like we'll never get them, but eventually it all does get done. Very happy to know that mower is going to see more "love". I have been working on lawn equipment for over 65 years- good to see young people getting their hands dirty. good job
I can't say I see myself as young. I'm 40 so middle of the road I guess. I started around 16 and have worked on all sorts of equipment every from weed eaters to huge wheel loaders and mining trucks. I started this channel hoping to inspire the next generations to get interested in mechanics and the trades.it was the older generations probably like yourself who worked on hit and miss engines,model a and model t Ford's, muscle cars and the like that helped to teach me a lot of the old ways. Things that are pretty much lost today. Thank you for helping younger guys like me when we were learning. Thank you for your encouragement. God bless you.
Some say that cleaning the magnet and the coil doesn't change anything, but I have cleaned just those 2 things on a lawnmower that wouldn't start, and then it would run with no problem.
Corrosion always causes high resistance. Current can't flow well or at all if there's a lot. I've seen the same. It definitely helps to optimize the ignition energy. Thank you for watching. God bless.

I'm not sure of the Maker model while I know is its black. It's a small push mower.
It's not self repelled.

You can use a drill to start it. Not a impact you will twist end of crankshaft off

How would you fix a pool cord that came out of a mower?
Hi where's trying to start a mower? I pulled like 3 or 15 × 2 get at the start. Then the Rope.ripped out of the mower. Lol

@gregsmowersandmore5878 I will thank you I found out it's a Murray Mower. I have no idea who makes it. It says brings in scratching on the sticker but I don't know if that's actual the motor for a ust a sticker that they put on.
