Thanks! In the 90s I was loading Cubase to my Atari every day after school, a couple of years later I quit the Australian Institute Of Music Cubase course at 19 years old for knowing more than the certified Cubase instructor. That was 1996. Now 26 years later inside of Logic and Ableton, I am returning to an unrecognisable version of Cubase. This helps a lot. Thank you. Crazy how I’m more of a student at 44. Sigh.
Out of curiosity what was you reason to change
Do you still remember SGI version Cubase?
I had Cubase as well in the late 80s and 90s. Never left. However Logic's virtual instruments are amazing. Wish Cubase would upgrade the virtual instrument quality and selection.
We share a similar trajectory. Hope we pick up the skills quickly.

Thank you so much for this! I was very familiar and comfortable with Ableton Live but I had to switch to Cubase for one of my clases and when I opened it i was super lost and out of my comfort zone, but I found this video and now I´m all set!

Superb , I've got the Cubase elements 11 but I'm certainly going for the upgrade to cubase 12 artist as it's cheaper to do so as a current customer
I've watched well over 100 hours of cb11pro tutorial videos. This is by far the easy to follow, the one I got the most information from and was layed out very concisely. I'm useless with computers so I'm easily put off by over complicated drop down windows and computer terminology that I don't know. You would not believe how helpful this video is! Now do a trouble shooting one just like this, where you cover latency issues, set ups, download management and hardware. 😃thank you very much!

At 4:37 his Synth channel looks different with more options than in the previous shot. What did he do to make these extra things appear? I can see an unlock there, a freeze icon, a note... where/how do you make this occur?

I remember back in the 90's I opened up Cubase and didn't understand diddly squat. So I bought a 4 channel cassette recorder and used that instead 🤣
I have cubase 12 pro. How can I recordind a midi channel (electronic drums) together with the backing track song so that I can then do the final fade in fade out settings on the new audio channel?

I got a Zoom H5 recorder that bundled with a free Cubase LE and I don't know what to do with it... Any suggestions as where should I start? I'm not a musician and know little about instruments and music but I am interested to learn how to make music.
Hi Dom. Can you make a Video for score… it’s so complicated Write music Traditionally
For scoring? If you write with music notation-I would check our Dorico Pro instead.
If you are sticking with Cubase, start by building a template with your strings, brass, winds, percussions and synth-first.
Everything can be played freehand and there are auto-quantize features that can help you along the way.
If you need a visual on how ppl score in Cubase, check out “Daniel James” (HybridTwo) on TH-cam. Hope this helps!

why you dont have multi vocal mastering tutorial?
Does Cubase supports or recognize piano damper/sustain pedals fr VST’s cuz other DAWs like FL Studio and Studio One does not? This is big for pianists. It’s important to hear the damper pedal and just know it sustains the notes.
Hi Dom. Is there a way that if I have say 10 tracks of Kontakt instances, and if I have the first track highlighted in the Inspector with Kontakt open for that track and then click on the second track or arrow down, that the instance of Kontakt changes to the second track Kontack? I'm sure this was normal in previous Cubase, version 8 if I remember.
P.S. You gotta try the OneOdio Monitor 60's Headset for mixing, amazing.
unfortunately its not possible yet, a very old feature request for cubase to add option for insert plugins and instruments to follow track selection (maybe in next cubase paid update ?! )) )

I downloaded the trial a few days and I'm liking it but I'm getting frustrated not being able to use my computer microphone to record with my audio interface in Cubase. Why does it have to be that difficult if it's even possibly to do it in Cubase? Cubase doesn't allow me to use my computer mic separate from my audio interface. It's a very easy set up in every DAW I've used except for Cubase.

I'm just trying to get the loop record working properly. You know.... how it records an audio source on a loop..... for example : guitarist tryna nail a solo and we are trying to loop a section to record like a playlist of recordings / takes, and then i can select it and comp, its easy on PoopTools but I dont know why i cant find a video with it on cubase... i have Cubase 11 AI if that helps

You can CTRL+Click (Windows) or Option+Click (Mac) to create notes in the piano roll.
If the key commands is what you’re stuck on, you can change it to fit your needs!
Cubase can be a bit tricky in the beginning-you can set up your own shortcuts in order to set your workflow!

Not that great, I followed the tutorial but got no sounds. Not sure whether its not getting MIDI from my keyboard or something else. It doesn't cover setting up an output channel which I think might be necesary.
With all due respect this cubase thing is RIDICULOUSLY complicated.
I bought a Barcus Berry Outsider for my classical guitar but, since my LT does not have a mini jack input (only headphones out) I was told I need a USB interface so, I bought a UR 12 (which I upgraded the software to 13). I also have a Blue Yeti (BY) mic.
However, I CANNOT GET ONE F$CKING SOUND out of the Steinburg to show up in my lap top. When I plug the Blue Yeti in the red light does NOT come on and nothing I can do gets that light (the mute light) to come on though if I plug the BY directly into my LT it works fine. Also, with the Barcus Berry plugged into the Steinburg NO SOUND comes out.
If I load Audacity I can see and select the Steinburg devise for input BUT when I try to record I get an error message.
Wtf?
