Welcome back to Epic Flight Academy's Private Pilot Ground School! This video covers the aircraft ignition systems, how fuel flows into the engine, and how the airplane starts its engine before takeoff!
This course is taught by Epic Flight Academy's own Mike Thompson. Mike Thompson is the author of "Telling Is Not Teaching", which promotes the idea that the “new school” of teaching that embraces electronic technology cannot sacrifice the “old school” of human relationships because the human brain stills learns in largely the same way that it has for millennia.

Hi. Amazing video, Very clear. Anyway I've a doubt. During normal operation, in flight, wich magnetos need to activated: Left, Right or Both? I think both, but if yes, I've a second question : in wich case I choose only left or right magneto? Thanks in advance

The mags are not retarded during start , they have a coupling spring which engages and generates a spark to the plugs. I thought that was not clear in the video, so I wanted to comment.
