A screenrant video that I enjoyed from beginning to end. Finally, a good video. Whoever you are narrating, and the one editor who fucks up title cards, make all the videos from now on.
After the two dark phoenix movies they still haven't done the dark phoenix saga IMHO. There was no M'Kraan crystal, no Shiar empire, no Lilandra, and a rather meaningless self sacrifice compared to the comic book version.
that's what happens when you hire shitty directors and have constant studio interference from shareholder assholes who don't understand the x-men or any form of art or storytelling (they're not even that great at making money which is the one thing htey're supposed to be good at)
Just rewatched it. Dark Phoenix was never going to work with that cast and the weight of the prior movies. Without a strong Scott and Jean with chemistry, it has no chance of working. When Fox said no to two movies to tell the story, the director should have gone in a different direction (smaller - something like Arcade and Murderworld).
*Pitch Meeting was the only thing keeping me subscribed to this channel. Now Ryan has his hand in something else on here. Now this channel is starting to shine.*
David Smith it’s mainly just theories now, but a lot of people think Marvel will bring The Fantastic 4 and X-men into Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.
@@SmartDave60 The title of Dr. Strange 2 is "Multiverse of Madness". People theorize (for a good reason) that the X-Men and mutants didn't exist on the MCU's Earth in any point of history, and that they simply reside on another Earth in another universe. Same with the Fantastic Four (that, or they could be trapped somewhere right now, like the quantum realm). The outcome of Dr. Strange 2 might be him (or someone else) causing the merger of the MCU's universe and the X-Men's universe. Mind you, it won't be the Fox version of course. It will be a new cast.
Okay. Yes. More like this PLEASE. Ryan narrating and contributing to the script here made this so much more watchable than an average screen rant video.
The X-Men movies for the most part casted perfectly; they just didn't exactly read any comics after the 1990s. The movies never looked and studied the characters. They killed off characters that played a pivitol role later. The silver samurai was someone completely different. Age of apocalypse should've led into days of Future past. Professor X was supposed to be dead and the sentinals should've introduced Nimrod. Also the beginning of DoFP should've been the movie to introduce Polaris as an adult taking over the role of Magneto. Both Bishop and Cable played key roles in days of Future past. The Phoenix should've been a story arch in a trilogy to introduce the Phoenix force arch. And so much more
Considering how many comments I see on Pitch Meetings saying that Ryan should be the only videos on Screen Rant, I'm confident that you could walk away for as many days as you want and they would probably let you keep your job and give you a raise too
I saw _Dark Phoenix_ in theaters, and while I don't think it was a cinematic masterpiece, I didn't think it was terrible. Sure, it wasn't a great adaptation of the comic book storyline it was trying to imitate - the 90s cartoon did it better - but it was certainly a fun movie to watch. It had a few good action scenes, some decent acting on many of the actors' parts, and was overall a decent film to just shut your brain off and watch. Would I pay to rent it at something like a RedBox? No. Will I get it free from my library in a few years in order to rewatch the whole series? Probably.
I really liked First Class and Days of Future Past, the only thing I hated was how hard they forced Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique being part of the core X-men group

I don't think most fans today read comics (idk if you did/do) but ain't nobody checking for her. She didn't have action figures and wasn't a big charcter. @@ScionStorm1 Yes Logan is called The Wolverines for a reason. Logan physically is the human equivalent of one, short, heavily muscled, compact no neck, and fast. Wolverines are also short tempered and has a tendency to growl.
In comics Feige would be like an editor in chief, making sure there was a sense of continuity (no, you can't do this, that character died in blah, and if you do that, the character should have a mohawk, like in their last appearance) as well as driving events together and towards a goal (in marvel, the thanos event).
X-Men has always been done BADLY outside of comics. The two (3?) cartoons, and everything else. The comics were fine till it became the 'Rogue and Gambit show' (See: Friends Ex: Ross and Rachel). I stopped buying WAY back in the mid 90s. They've reset the timeline TWICE since then. So yeah :/

@@ScionStorm1 the late wrestler Chris Benoit would've been a spot on wolverine....
Dosen't matter lol. This is the age of hate everything
@@ScionStorm1 Yes Logan is called The Wolverines for a reason. Logan physically is the human equivalent of one, short, heavily muscled, compact no neck, and fast. Wolverines are also short tempered and has a tendency to growl.
The first X-Men movie, X-Men First Class, Days of Future Past, The Wolverine, Deadpool and Logan... These were the best
THE MOVIE CALLED XMEN THE LAST STAND THAT WAS 2006
In comics Feige would be like an editor in chief, making sure there was a sense of continuity (no, you can't do this, that character died in blah, and if you do that, the character should have a mohawk, like in their last appearance) as well as driving events together and towards a goal (in marvel, the thanos event).
Thank god that's over 😒
Marvel please do a beter job 🤔👍
X-Men has always been done BADLY outside of comics. The two (3?) cartoons, and everything else. The comics were fine till it became the 'Rogue and Gambit show' (See: Friends Ex: Ross and Rachel). I stopped buying WAY back in the mid 90s. They've reset the timeline TWICE since then. So yeah :/
I forgot how much I love this channels sarcasm.
