    I have this truck,for the price I'm impressed with it,i run it on 3s but turn the power down to around 50%, only problems I've had are broken pins on drive shafts and the short shaft just pops out under stress,so replaced that with metal one never had problem since,also have metal drive shafts the long ones,haven't put them on yet though. got the spot lights on the roof working also,it's one of my favourite trucks,😀👌👌👍👍😎😎

      @DoURC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it's a great little truck, it's a shame it didn't come with the Texan shafts out the box, that would have eliminated the driveshaft issues then. For the money though it's very capable and looks great too imo. :)

      @@rcplaytime Hi - was it easy to fit the extra lights? Do they work off the existing lights or did you power separately ? Do you have a pic of how you did them? Jim

      @@HF-kl5vb i bought a 3 way splitter that connects to existing light connector, that gives me the light bar rear spots and one spare for either rocklights or winch,probably go for the winch,hope that helps👍👍

    Nice vid 👍. I have a Fury 2.0 and a Texan and one upgrade I have done on both is a hobbywing 1080 esc . Transforms them very nicely. Far more low down control. Use the metal short Texan drive shaft ( ftx9863 ) for the top drive .

      Thanks very much 👍
      It's had a few upgrades since this video. I replaced the short shaft with an RC4WD Punisher shaft that has never come off. Fitted ally axles, HW 1080 and then a Fusion Pro.
      Think the only stock thing left now is the steering servo! 🤣👍

    Thanks for doing this, informative. Have a couple of FTX (Kanyon and Outback 2) and find them pretty good overall. Am tempted by the Geo or Fury Pro but not much out there on these at the moment review wise. Was going for TRX4 Sport next but will probably go for one of these instead.

      No problem at all, glad you found it helpful. I'd say the Geo is better out the box than the Hi-Rock, but I prefer the looks on the Hi-Rock. I'll hopefully be doing a review in the new year on the new Paso and possibly the Geo. 👍

      Yeah, if you search for make RGT on places like Banggood you'll find them. The FTX Hi-Rock is the same as RGT EX86110. 👍 The RGT versions quite often come with the option led lights etc too. Hope that helps. 👍

    3s doesn't cook the motor or esc? I'd be interested to see the battery you run on. I'm on 2s Overlander 35c 2200mah and seem to get well over an hour run time, no overheats and no breakage yet?

    • @DoURC
      @DoURC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No 3S is fine for the motor and ESC, it states in the manual it can run on 2s or 3s. Only thing with 3s is it puts more strain on the drive train. So if it gets hung up, it can twist the stock drive shafts off. 👍
      I'd definitely recommend changing stock esc for a Hobbywing 1080 though, so much better control on the 1080 over stock esc. 👍
      Battery I run either an overlander 3s 4000mah or recently I've been using a Goldbat 3s 5000mah 55c. 👍
      Any other questions fire away. 👍😎

    Hi, I'm about to buy it but I would like it with softer tires and softer shock absorbers, so that it doesn't jump like a toy but almost simulates reality, even on small stones, adhering perfectly. Do you have any tips or links to recommend? Thank you and congratulations for the video, I really enjoyed it. Italy

    • @DoURC
      @DoURC  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Excellent, hope you enjoy it. The stock suspension isn't bad tbh, especially if you add a bit of weight to the wheels with some metal beadlock wheels. I went with Proline Hyrax copy tyres which are much better than stock.
      I've got lots of running videos of it on my channel if you check out the Toyota playlist.
      Also if you want more of a long term review and upgrade/issues check out episode 2 of my Whats on the Bench series. Hope that helps. 👍

    • @DoURC
      @DoURC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I believe they do. The Hi-Rock shares a lot if parts with the Fury, so sometimes it's easier to search for Fury parts instead. I've added steel beadlock wheels with wheel weights, ally axles and steel drive shafts and that's made a huge difference. 👍

    Hi do you have any idea how I can fix my driveshafts/drive train coming off?

    • @DoURC

      Which ones are coming off and is it the grub screw coming loose, then the drive shaft slips off the output shaft, or are they twisting apart at the U joint?

      The Fury is cheaper, newer and eliminates the torque twist out the box. Tbh there are better rigs than both for a little more money though. 👍

      @keiranbarrow691 No problem. The FCX10 from FMS is excellent value for money. I haven't tried it, but lots of people rave about the FTX Gladius, its just fugly imo. It really depends on your budget and what you want to use it for. My favourite rig is still my Traxxas TRX4 tbh. 👍

    Quick question - does the ch 4 switch do anything on your controller? Mine appears to be a fake button - doesn’t move at all. Just wondered if it’s just mine or if it’s meant to be like that?

    • @DoURC
