Superb job training this horse. I like how the video doesn't just show the "good" moments, but shows the bucking and kicking as well. People don't realize how dangerous it is to train any horse, let alone one that has never had human contact before. And in only 100 days. Congratulations!
Yes, and there could have been more to be fully realistic, but they are trying to convince people to adopt so I think it was reasonably balanced. This program always amazes me and gives hope that more mustangs will be adopted. The holding pens need to be rethought as well as the whole problem of over population. We don't want them to ruin the land as the feral Brumby horses of Australia have done.
@@janereniers6724 - Clearly the thing to do, but there is an industry too powerful to suggest that, as much as I'd like to see beef disappear from the American diet completely. World wide, the raising of beef cattle is an environmental disaster in numerous ways.
They are hard to gentle if you have alot of experience with horses then i would say to consider adopting one. But if you don't have alot of experience a mustang might not be the best option
I adopted a mustang mare who was the most gentle horse I've known. I slept with her in the stall and she wouldn't have hurt me for anything. Her response to human touch and love was amazing. She is incredibly smart, learns very quickly and enjoys learning. I hope everyone who has the opportunity to adopt a mustang will. They are amazing horses.
You've inspired me to start training my own horse to do more liberty tricks. You've also open my eyes and I realised that the trainers at my stables don't care about the well being of their horses; saw them trying to lunge a 6 yo gelding couldn't manage and whipped the poor horse really hard although the trainer had 30 years of experience. You've inspired me a lot ♥️
Well, before you start making enemies at your stable, I would chalk what your trainer did to ignorance, not necessarily they they don't care about horses...the horse training methods have advanced DRAMATICALLY in the last 20 years...as knowledge has been shared with technology and coming from the like of Tom Dorrance etc. and now there are even lots of other very humane ways of teaching horses etc. that are coming out an evolving etc. etc. So, I think we have to be careful when communicating with people that are not hip to the new ways...because likely they do care about horses unless they are very jaded as some trainers can certainly get...cause then you just get into a divisive thing that is just plain negative. Good luck with your horse. :)

Bits still cause damage. They can slam against the teeth, tear the gums, and tear at the roof of their mouth. It is not comfortable for any horse and even then doesn't allow as much control.
Dragon Legend well, I don’t pull hard it abuse my horses with a bit. The only reason I ride with one is because my horse is stubborn xD and if she bolts I’m done for
Dragon Legend Bits and bit-less bridles are both dangerous. But they can still cause damage to the tissue on the muzzle. Bits aren’t harmful if you use them right. Same things with bit-less bridles.
@@michellyreyes 100% agree bits are required in some shows too just keep your hands light and your cues clear, and yes bitless bridals cause damage to the horses muzzle and can actually break the horses nose if not used correctly and since all these new people dont study before they buy a horse the first thing they do is go bitless, bitless is great for people and horses that are getting the equipment used correctly. Each time a horse is offered for adoption and does not get adopted, they get a strike. After three strikes, BLM can sell them "without conditions", meaning he could have been sold to someone who could have shipped him directly to slaughter
