Thanks for sharing the car cruise/show, seeing Slayer and Big Wave together was awesome! Loved seeing the hike/scenic view at the Mugu Rock area too. 🍻
3 things. First; This is a great channel and lots of fun that I just found. Second: It's cool you both are working together and have skills and when you make a mistake you call yourself on it and find out what went wrong. Three: Shes beautiful.
The Tempest is turning out to be a neat Hot Rod! Linseed oil makes it look way better. The best part of this video for me is the road trip. What a COOL spot where the old road use to be!!
Nice to see you using non-traditional tricks (linseed oil) to replenish the oils in the old paint. A 1971 Skylark owner with original paint here, and some patina, so been down similar roads! Linseed oil does wonders, for sure.
Great to see y’all being able to get out and enjoy the riding after y’all’s hanging with it at the shop! So, so fortunate to be able to just ride down and catch that sunset from the rock. Thanks for sharing with us!!🍻✌️
Now the Tempest looks like a shiny turd instead of just a turd ! Buy a paint gun ! Patina is just a couple of years from a rust bucket ? ✌️💙🎵 From STL MO the home of rust buckets !
Let me tell you how quick I would pop the moldings lights, grill & bumpers & be all over that Pontiac with a 12 inch D/A & some 80 grit! Strip it bare and get 2 coats of Epoxy Primer on it then start your body work. You do know you can go overseas and still buy real Lacquer paint underground, that would be the way to go as that car is straight enough to do a factory paint job on it or go Imron or Galorath base clear. ( no PPG the clear peels)
We used to beat those muscle cars up back in the early 70's. They were cheap to buy used and when we got done with them they were rattle boxes, we did the usual bolt on upgrades, manifold, double pumpers, accel or mallory ignitions, headers, traction bars, B&m and Hurst shift kits, etc. It was fun, rolled a number of them, but I dont miss having one, they are really built cheaply. This is a time when the Sheriff would bust us and make us pour our beer out and drive home if we were hell raising too much and got caught. I preferred the mustangs with 289's or the 390's, the 390's pulled well but were heavy in the steering but we just blasted 1/4 mile drags on friday and Saturday night in Petaluma on Lakevill highway where we marked out the section of road with white paint, or somebody did anyway. It happens to be where they also later filmed The Lucas film American Graffiti drag race scene at the end of the movie. I'm kind of an OG in the cruising era I guess, even though it was going on since the 50's
I had a 67 GTO Midnight Blue and dark blue interior. Ran the same poverty caps and trim rings on my car. I really appreciate that great old school look and you can't beat the price of the wheels. You guys do great work.
Olivia and Danny (hope I remember correctly your names) Thank you for your channel! I really appreciate how respectful you two are as a couple. I stumbled upon your channel because of your van. I’m a huge fan of older cars… love your style. Olivia I’m so happy your tempest is up and running. Pontiac’s are my favorite too. I have an old 1977 ford high top van that is quite rusty. I like the character of it, I’m going to try the linseed oil method to give it some more depth 😊and definitely remember to safely dispose of the rag 😂pro tip.
You're too kind, Jacqueline. ❤ Would love to see your 77 sometime. Thank you very much for watching and always leaving sweet comments. We appreciate you!
The main thing is, you did all the work yourself. Love your channel. We would love to have the Tempest and Slayer at our 17th annual Balboa Bay Club show down here in Newport Beach. It'll be Father's Day. We'd roll out the red carpet for you and get you VIP everything because you two are the coolest! It's sponsor by Barry Meguiar Polish and a couple of exotic car dealers. You get goody bags of Meguiar polishes at the gate. The music has to be kept lower because the ultra-rich neighbors like to call the cops if it gets loud so you could video it all you want.
I have a suggestion for a show. How about doing one just about pounding the dent out of the drivers side quarter? I am starting to really like the Tempest. It's really a pretty Nice, classic old Pontiac! The sheet metal is straight and there is no major cancer at all. I think the parking lot whiskey dent in the quarter is the worst place and that could be fixed easy with a little labor. Hold a wooden block (scrap 2 x 6) on the outside and put another block inside to hit. Don't hit hammer to metal, just hit wooden blocks. I bet in 1 hour it would be waaaaay nicer!! Then drive to the beach for closing. Great Show!!
Pretty cool they look good okay you guys do too! PS - I like it best without the poverty caps those are great looking Wheels with the nuts showing thanks again for the video
What an awesome cruise night! I like the poverty caps on the Big Wave Tempest! It would probably look cool with no caps or beauty rings too, just bare wheels if you ever wanted to change it up. The car looks great with the linseed oil! I remember using Comet on a white 66 Lincoln revival I did. It not only took the oxidation off, but even brought out a little shine. I've used quad zero steel wool on bumpers too, you can use it dry and it works wonders on chrome, no scratching at all! The wheels and tires on the Slayer are the exact same ones on my 68 Impala, except my white letters are turned in! 😁 Great video guys! 👊👌
This was a great episode! I learned a lot of pro-tips from y'all. Y'all are inspiring and what many of us hope to find in a partner. Plus y'all taught us about that trail on PCH. I never knew that was the original road and that you can take that path as a trail to a great view. Much Love to y'all and your journey. May we cross paths one day. Brandon- 1974 El Camino - Named "Grand Daddy"
Big Wave is making some “ Big Waves!” Coming together really nice! You two are living the life! Keep these vids coming, love them all!❤️ Congrats Liv!👍
I live on the east coast . I was surprised at how few the representation of Plymouth is in your Part of the country when I seen the dealer selling classic cars video. In our part of the country It is all about being the Quickest. A Plymouth with a Hemi under the hood has been King until the new SRT Mopars came out. With the new Super charged hemi's and 8 speed automatic. I have owned 70 and 71 Cudas over the years. They have been hard to beat. I loved racing my stick 1970 cuda But when I started to build my last cuda with an 850hp Hemi I took advice from my engine builder and built an automatic. The stick cuda broke a lot of parts at 500hp the car ran high 11's . My last 71hemi cuda with an automatic runs high 9's and hasnt broke anything in the drive train. Stick is fun but no longer quick.
really like your good vibes Liv. And the adventure you went on looked like fun, although I got a little woozy on that hike and the drop off. Sorry , no offense but I'm not big on the poverty caps. Excellent an Liv is beautiful. thanks..jf in Iowa.
What color do you think you paint it ? My brother had a 67 GTO and it was a dark blue with the black vinyl top ... I think it had a 400 in it with a 4:11 posi rear end .. it was a pretty cool car back then .....
Very cool! Have you tried using aluminum foil on your chrome ? I like using it with penetrating oil to get the rust nubs down. Aluminum doesn't scratch because it's softer than chrome. I don't mean to step on any toes. I really think what you are doing is fantastic. Keep up the great work.
I would put it up for sale, the tempest that is. And move on to the next project. Look at how Rawlings does it. I would invest in a vette, or other low production. The tempest was a crush car at the boneyard. They would remove any parts that would interchange with a Goat. The rest went to the furnace in Gary, Indiana.
Didn't know where you were. Kept thinking it sure looks like Oxnard area. When you said Boulevard, wondered if Oxnard Blvd. Then when you said Mugu, my heart skipped. Pt. Mugu is my fave. Love that rock. Camped and hosted at Thornhill Broome. Met a guy who grew up at Sycamore when it was a resort with bars and restaurants. His family lived in the lifeguard house that was washed away in the 2014 big storm. His dad built the house. This was before CA bought the land and turned it into a State Park. He said Thornhill used to be a dump. His first job out of high school was to help bury all the trash. He said if you dug straight down, you'd find the tin cans. Oxnard schoolbus used to pick up him and his brothers from Sycamore. He said original road around rock was closed because so many people were killed driving it. Called Blood Alley or something like that. The rock was blasted to cut the new road through. On last day of school the bus driver would drive them on the old road around the rock for kicks. 50s and early 60s. My rv's bottom got really rusted camping at Thornhill so much. Lived there for a year when I hosted. I'll try the linseed oil. Cars looking great. Thanks for letting me ramble. I'd swing by but live near my daughter in No. Cal. Hang on to your dreams. ❤
Thank you for watching Susan! I love reading comments like yours. It's always interesting to hear about other people's stories from PCH! Mugu Rock is definitely our favorite spot.
Love the paint. Thanks for.the memory. Memories, actually. Short version: I bought a Chevelle to come to her rescue. As she looks out the hotel window... "Which car is it?" Me: "It's 2 tone. Blue and rust."
Love your car. The "Tin Indians" were always a step above the chevys. When they built cars, they got the styling and performance right the first time. Your car is a keeper.
These are the same cars we saw and owned on the road when I was younger. Really takes me back.
That Tempest with some good old fashion Cragars would look so awesome.
Beautiful video. I love ❤️ classic oldies. Wheels .
Man o man she’s sexy. The car is nice as well 😁. Tks for sharing. Love seeing these old cars being used and enjoyed.
Nice! Driving classic cars barefoot is the best
Thanks for sharing the car cruise/show, seeing Slayer and Big Wave together was awesome! Loved seeing the hike/scenic view at the Mugu Rock area too. 🍻
Great content 👍 guys thanks for sharing 😊.
Great video, cars look and sound great !!!!!
She is a beaut !! The car looks good too !!
....us old guys call that tempest a .....sleeper....
Wash the car in CLR you'll be amazed at how bright the color comes out. CLR will remove all rust from the metal. Great video!
i love youtube without it i would not see video's like yours like all the cars
3 things. First; This is a great channel and lots of fun that I just found. Second: It's cool you both are working together and have skills and when you make a mistake you call yourself on it and find out what went wrong. Three: Shes beautiful.
CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR FIRST CRUISE NIGHT!!!! GREAT VIDEO AND THANKS FOR SHARING!!!
Awesome job Guys 💪👏 from Alabama 🇺🇸👍
The car would look some sweet after body work and fresh paint. All heads would turn.
The car already turns more heads than I'd like. I'll definitely get rid of tge bondo and dents where I can but I love the original paint.
Leave the rims as is. They are perfect. No Caps Required.
i agree, no budget caps
I agree 👍
Nice little car show, like both of your cars, Danny's z28 is really sweet, keep them comin.
Perfect beautiful amazing car thanks friend good morning
2 very nice cars for sure, enjoy them : -)
Regards from Denmark, Europe......
The Tempest is turning out to be a neat Hot Rod! Linseed oil makes it look way better. The best part of this video for me is the road trip. What a COOL spot where the old road use to be!!
I have to disagree, the best part, as usual, is Liv's typically perfect sun-lovin', car-washin' attire!
I like that she is a hands on girl !!! I love the camaro!! Get UHF walkie talkies so you can keep in communication in case something goes wrong.
Nice to see you using non-traditional tricks (linseed oil) to replenish the oils in the old paint. A 1971 Skylark owner with original paint here, and some patina, so been down similar roads! Linseed oil does wonders, for sure.
Pretty awesome seeing you two cruise together in your own classic cars! #relationshipgoals
You have some pretty cool Cars 👍🇨🇦
That was a lot of fun to watch. Great pair you two (the humans and the cars)
Good times!!!
Great to see y’all being able to get out and enjoy the riding after y’all’s hanging with it at the shop! So, so fortunate to be able to just ride down and catch that sunset from the rock. Thanks for sharing with us!!🍻✌️
You need Vice Grip Garage shine juice it will make it shine.
Nice video consgratulations i have a body shop in kentucky nice video
Now the Tempest looks like a shiny turd instead of just a turd ! Buy a paint gun ! Patina is just a couple of years from a rust bucket ?
✌️💙🎵 From STL MO the home of rust buckets !
I have the big brother to this car. 65 Tempest, same color, crazy patina, 326, Zero rust. California car. I drive it everywhere!
Awesome 🤩 video guy’s 😎🇺🇸👍❤️
the car is looking mighty sweet Liv.. keep livin' the dream!!
Thank you!

Sweet !!! Cool cruise night !!!
Swwweeettt guys, love the Lemans those years ! Had a chance to buy one30 years ago like an idiot I didn't ! Best wishes !
Yes,you need to throw that rag in a container , cause it will catch on fire..Came out great .

I wish I would have known about the Friday Night Car Cruise; I would have gone.
I had a 67 GTO Midnight Blue and dark blue interior. Ran the same poverty caps and trim rings on my car. I really appreciate that great old school look and you can't beat the price of the wheels. You guys do great work.
❤ THAT WAS A COOL SUNSET 👍 THANKS 4 THE HIKE 🏁🦇🕶️
Thanks for the ride along. Always a good time !! And sunset at the fishin hole 😉
Great video. Really liked the touch of it. Some guys have it, some guys don´t.
Glad you are letting the Tempest.. STAY a Tempest and not making another GTO clone.. Nice and subtle
I also like the 57 Fladbed .. Very Cool

Car sounds good 👍
I had one in highschool mine was a 1965 dark blue with sky interior. 6 banger though. Got good gas though miles.
Awesome video!! Love following the story of your build!! Keep it up!! 👍
It has been a while that i have gone to that car show. Thanks for sharing. I do remember it was hard to find parking. but worth the walk.
Love the caps, love the patina. Keep it up. CHEERS!
Great job girls! From Michigan you rock!
As a kid growing up i remember riding in folks car on that roadway around mugu rock..love your channel!!
Interesting video. The car show and sunset over the ocean ! ❤️💯👍👊

0:27 the car wash detailer's helper, AJAX!!
WHAT A FUN TIME. LOTS OF COOL CARS
Navel jelly is also excellent after the Comet for removing rust on paint, especially near the front of the car.
Pretty cool they look good okay you guys do too! PS - I like it best without the poverty caps those are great looking Wheels with the nuts showing thanks again for the video
Awesome Ranchero
I broke out in a cold sweat...I've had a couple of ElCaminos over the years, but never a Ranchero...bucket list car/truck for sure...
What an awesome cruise night! I like the poverty caps on the Big Wave Tempest! It would probably look cool with no caps or beauty rings too, just bare wheels if you ever wanted to change it up. Thanks for taking us along with you guys, felt like I was on an adventure. You are doing great work , keep it up.
Thank you for watching! I'm so happy you enjoyed it.
I can listen to the Pacific crashing over the rocks for hours... and used to.
Very cool! hope to cruise with you soon!
Big Wave is making some “ Big Waves!” Coming together really nice!
You two are living the life! Keep these vids coming, love them all!❤️
Congrats Liv!👍
Thank you very much for watching! Appreciate the kind words
you guys are awesome, thanks for the ride along on cruise night
Glad you enjoyed it!
Missed you guys. Black Satin. Nice
It looks just right you go girl !!!
Poverty caps look great on the Tempest!
The caps and rings look really good !!!
Nice start but imho body work and a paint job would be the next step. Patina... you mean rust? Nope, never did get the whole 'drive a wreck' thing.
That Pontiac needs to be turned into a GTO. If you can find a 389 V8 engine with 6 barrel setup you are so golden. It's also begging for a 4 speed.
I loved watching the video it was so awesome

Gives the car a meaner look without the poverty caps on! Otherwise loving the car 🤘🏼❤ I own the 98 lincoln mark viii and have been fixing her up! 💯
Und wieder ein tolles Video!

Looks great! Keep the poverty caps but loose the trim rings and paint wheels all black as designed for proper poverty:)
ohc6! way cool little temper.
Pekerjaan bagus semoga nyaman dan tetap semangat
Here’s a thought why don’t you just get it painted if you love the car that much. Looks like a bad ass car.
That is a nice car...
Like the rims and the caps...all very cool. Had a '78 Pontiac...still sad that GM shut them down.
Shine Juice is what Vice Grip Derick calls it. Add wd40 as well. Love how you guys have teamed up your content's cool.
Love the paint. Thanks for.the memory.
Memories, actually.
Short version:
I bought a Chevelle to come to her rescue.
As she looks out the hotel window...
"Which car is it?"
Me: "It's 2 tone. Blue and rust."
Mop and Glo will do the same for the rustic sealed finish and vinyl as well!
That Ford Falcon wagon looked nice.
Love your car. The "Tin Indians" were always a step above the chevys. When they built cars, they got the styling and performance right the first time. Your car is a keeper.
The GTO came first yet the SS 396 always had the most muscular engine spelled L78. Not to mention the 1970 LS6.
