OMG, you have just started something good for those of us starting out in our new bag making business ❤❤❤. I can’t afford the company over in China. This I can afford and I can use some of my jewels with my tag. You are wonderful, and I love the different colors you used.
I’m finally doing it! It does have a learning curve so your first few may not be perfect. And applying the resin is another learning curve to have the tags level and not touching anything when you apply the resin. I finally used a styrofoam piece that the tags were not touching that foam when I applied…stick prongs into styrofoam. I only messed up two and feel really good that the rest turned out well,

I was on the point of trying to choose between a Cricut and a Scan & Cut Machine but horrified at the prices thinking that I would need them to make my labels and then I found this. Hi! I think that’s a great experiment to try - something that may be even better are clear file folder labels from Avery and then using Avery.com to design the file. They have more font options and pictures you can’t get with a label maker. Let me know if it works out!
I’m glad it was helpful! If you’re looking for a nearly transparent effect you may use tissue paper. Just tape it to a standard piece of paper and run it through!
Drats! It looks like that one isn’t offered any longer - or the other brand I bought. But you should be able to find a highly rated option on Amazon - just be sure it’s UV resin.
I’ve had bad burns from UV resin when I wasn’t wearing gloves and got some on my hands in the past. There is no way I ever use it now without wearing gloves! I’ve learnt my lesson! I use waterslide decals on to thin baked polymer clay (about 1mm thick cut into the label size I require) (less expensive than buying the metal tags IMO!) Once the printed decals are placed on to the water moistened baked polymer clay, I bake the decals on to the clay (it takes about 10 minutes at 130 degrees Centigrade (use the temperature recommended for your brand of Polymer clay)) Don’t touch the decal when it comes out of the oven as it will be slightly sticky. Once less sticky, I apply the UV gel and place in the UV lamp for 6 mins (I add more than one layer of UV Gel if required) and then I stick the finished polymer clay labels to my bags with E6000 glue (this glue doesn’t react over time with the polymer clay (you could also use super glue, which is also safe to use with polymer clay. If the labels are bowed after applying UV gel, just before gluing I will apply a heat gun to the back of the label to slightly warm the polymer clay (this flattens it out). I use white polymer clay as I currently only have transparent decals, I’ve yet to try the white decals on coloured polymer clay. This method can also be used with your own artwork printed on to the decals and applied to the baked polymer clay. Thanks for the great video! Greetings from England.
Thanks for asking! You use the clear spray paint to seal the waterslide paper after printing. The colored spray paint is just to change the base color of the tag. The resin is optional but does provide the doming/glass effect. If you don’t want to use resin you can bake the waterslides on using the instructions on the packaging.
I ordered all this stuff and I have not received the actual metal labels yet but excited to try it soon. Now to try to find the washer video, what did you call it?

Thank you! Been thinking of adding bags to my almost non-existent business (have not sold anything yet, but want to try again) and realized I would need to have labels. I am not happy with what I am finding in the professionally done labels, but what you have shown is perfect for what I am thinking of doing. This can also be good to personalize gifts and I can also think of other things this can be applied to as well. It is not what I am wanting to do, but the rainbow one looks really interesting. Was it already looking like when you bought it or did you do some kind of finish to it?

Love your video! If using the methods shown here for the tags with holes, do you attach the rivets AFTER the resin is applied and cured? Just wondering if the pressure of attaching the rivets will cause the resin to crack/chip. I'll be using my Kamsnap table press and rivets. Thanks!
That’s a great question! I think so long as you keep the opening clear of resin (allow a clear margin around the hole) you should be good. I don’t know that I’ll have time to test it this weekend but if I can I will report back!
I know this video is a year old but your video popped up when I did a search for metal bag tags. I've been looking for a way to do this for forever! I'm wondering if clear UV nail polish would work instead of resin? I might just give that a try. Anyway, thanks for the video, you've helped to kickstart some ideas for me!

It would almost certainly stick to it, but resin will often pop off (or break away from) flexible surfaces. I’d imagine you may need to affix the tag to your project and then carefully apply the resin. Or - apply the tag to something like a metal tag or piece of chipboard and then applying resin (with holes so you can attach it to the project). This would give it the rigidity you need.

Do you have to have an inkjet printer
Hi! Yes, I did these on an inkjet using water slide paper for inkjet printers. But I think you can do them on lasers with laser water slide paper
