    Love the video, but I agree needs some benchmarks to show so we can see the performance!

      Yep, seems like that's going to be the next build video! Thanks for the feedback and hope to see you on the next one!

    Great review mate.
    I recently built an am4 pc using a Gigabyte B550M DS3H AC mbo. It's soo much nicer. It has wifi, bluetooth, two slots for nvme ssds etc. And it was only 30 dollars more than those barebones motherboards.

      Thanks a lot! Yeah, I recently ran across an msi motherboard also a B550M that I picked up for just under $100 also has wifi, bluetooth, etc etc. It's actually on sale right now for $90!

    Keep up the great videos. I enjoy watching others develop systems and comment on the pros and cons of the hardware. Thank you!

    I just upgraded from an i5-8400 to an i5-12400f, this UPGRADE cost me almost HALF of what I paid for the 8400! I paid (from memory) $280AUD for the i5, 5-1/2 years ago! Got the 12400f for $165AUD, B760M Mobo was $144AUD (Germany Amazon, cheaper then here!)
    About to also upgrade from GTX 1660Ti ($440AUD when new) for a RTX 3060 ($440AUD!).

    • @Lead-a-Horse-PC-Hardware
      @Lead-a-Horse-PC-Hardware  10 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      That's a good jump, congrats! I think the 12600K was just on sale, but it was short-lived and ran out of stock quickly (Best Buy, I think). Also, you may want to consider the 3060 Ti or even the 3070 which both perform better than the 3060 and cost about the same as that price point (new or used for 3060 Ti and used for the 3070)

    I pretty much did this build last weekend. Only difference is 750w psu on sale and snagged an arc a750 for half off retail at my pc recycler as well as a fractal pop mini air for $40 at the same place

    • @Lead-a-Horse-PC-Hardware
      @Lead-a-Horse-PC-Hardware  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Wow, some great deals! Is the pc recycler a local business or a private party that you know?

    • @tommynobaka
      @tommynobaka 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @@Lead-a-Horse-PC-Hardware Local business here in seattle. They take people recycled PC's and peripherals for free and resell them. It's an e-waste gem

    Great video! My PC has an MSI Z370-A PRO Motherboard, i7 8700k, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and a GTX 1060 6GB. I'll upgrade the entire platform at some point.

    As with all hardware it's usually horses for courses. If you were doing a higher end bill and using a modular PS then the case is fine, same with not using ARGB fans in a build then you don't need a 3 pin header. New subscriber here

    • @Lead-a-Horse-PC-Hardware
      @Lead-a-Horse-PC-Hardware  7 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      Thanks for the sub!! Yeah, I think I might give that case one more go but with either a semi-modular or fully modular psu (probably semi to keep costs down).
      As to the fans, you are correct sir! That being said, like it or not, RGB helps to sell pcs (when you are building them to sell that is ;) ). That being the case (no pun intended), sometimes you just have to deal with such thing :)

    Great prices for the parts you are using, only thing I'd argue is in todays world I'd say use a one terabyte ssd as a bare minimum. On storage options it can be done for around 50 to 60 bucks and is needed in todays world as things take so much space now days you will regret anything less.

    • @Lead-a-Horse-PC-Hardware
      @Lead-a-Horse-PC-Hardware  9 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      Great point you made and if my budget had been about $500+ that would be the route I'd definitely be taking!
      I had debated that before figuring out the final parts, but wanted to stick to a certain budget. That's why I went with a 1tb mechanical drive to make up for that.
      When it comes to storage, the primary use case for an ssd is a fast OS and fast file transfers, so if a person is primarily using the pc for gaming and not productivity, i.e. video editing, etc. then a mechanical drive really works just as well for game saves and other storage needs. :)

    I for one do not give a rats about RGB!

    • @Lead-a-Horse-PC-Hardware
      @Lead-a-Horse-PC-Hardware  10 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      Yep, I know a lot of people that feel the same! Personally, I don't mind it, so my main rig has it, but I rarely turn it on, but it's always nice to know it's there if I ever want to turn it on :)

    Just get 12v fans they actually do make them

    • @Lead-a-Horse-PC-Hardware
      @Lead-a-Horse-PC-Hardware  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      Good idea, but I had already gotten the case which came with the 5v fans as well, so it would have ended up costing more to get 12v fans than the converter/adapter :)

    Ppl don’t buy HHD because they cost the as a M.2 much at that point going with the faster drive.

    • @Lead-a-Horse-PC-Hardware
      @Lead-a-Horse-PC-Hardware  6 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      Completely get that thought process!!
      For a new hdd with sata connectors you can get a 1tb for about $30, whereas a new ssd 2.5" is about $47, so more than 50% more. And if you are only using that drive for pure storage, i.e. music, saved games, etc. the speed doesn't really come into play, so your cost per gb of storage goes up when someone is on a strict budget.
      Used is even better where the 1 tb hdd you saw in the video was $5 in new condition and had next to no time on it on crystal disk mark. Used market is fairly easy to save money. I bought a BUNCH of other stuff the other day, part of it had 7 different nearly new hdd's that I picked up for $25 total (I'll be doing a video about that stuff in the future!).
      You can get similar deals on ebay for 1 tb hdd's for about $5 to $10 each, whereas a 2.5" ssd on ebay is going for about $25 and up to $40. Which isn't to say you can't find great prices on used ssd's, just using the most common prices :)

    Do you know much about the “ASRock B450M PRO4-CB” I know it’s similar to your board but that last little CB I can’t quite figure out what it means other than “Chinese Brand” but that seems a little to easy and convenient. I’m debating between a B450 and B550 (maxsun and SOYO) the b550 are bigger and look cooler except they only have 2 Ram slots (isn’t the end of the world but upgrading 2 extra 8x2 Ram sticks be better than buying new 16x2) maybe you’d know maybe you wouldn’t, the idea is whoever I sell it to when there ready to upgrade they can buy a 5800x3d and whatever gpu of there choice at that point. And be set for a while, that’s what I wanted to do except when I built I went with intel and the LGA1200 just doesn’t have an upgrade path that would be worth going from an i5-10600k the value from AMD right now is just unmatched (complete opposite in 2021) so for me im saving until I can afford a 7500f build to be able to upgrade to a X3D am5 cpu at SOME point after that.
    Definitely should benchmark some basic free games like warzone, Fortnite, apex, Valvorant, etc. ZTT TH-cam showed a website that installs all the launchers for those games I don’t remember the process but I do remember seeing and thinking about how much time that saved. Hell even having the games pre installed ready for the customer who buys would definitely enjoy that, all they’d have to do is sign into there account if they have one.

      Not sure if you are talking about an argb controller or hub as opposed to what I was referring to in the video which is a converter/adapter. which is the thing you use when your connectors for your argb components don't match the connectors on the headers for the motherboard, i.e. your fans have 3 pin 5v connectors but the only headers on the motherboard are 4 pin 12v. :)
