I have the 3 Qt Instant Pot and had not used it since buying it over a year and a half ago, and also have accessories which I purchased over 6 months ago and just took them out and cleaned them all up and boiled some eggs and they was cooked perfectly. Your video was very educational and new users will appreciate the information you gave us.
Thanks Olga- lm doing research into the instant pot versus a crock pots before purchase. Your info has been really helpful- especially liked the extra seal tips. 🌟
Very nice presentation this video should help the new owners of the instant pot. The instant pot is not like your grandma's pressure cooker it's very safe and convenient.
Well done! One thing that I think is worth mentioning is that you should not manually release the pressure when you are cooking things like beans, noodles, rice, etc. The contents will come splattering out with the steam. In those cases, let the pressure gradually go down on its own.
Hi Olga. Just found your channel and subscribed. I bought the 6 qt. Instant Pot last winter, but chose to get serious with warmer weather. We are rural/farming folks. I tend to use my kitchen wood stove and gas stove to cook and heat up the kitchen on cold days. That said, I like the concept of the electric pressure cooker, so I am giving it try and appreciate your channel and tips. Please keep them coming! Thank you. Diane- Hersey Farm-East Andover, New Hampshire.
Thanks for the easy to understand instructions, Olga! Do you speak Russian? If so, could you please make an Instant Pot for Beginner in the Russian language? I have not been able to find the instruction manual in Russian. Thank you!
Could someone please clear this up for me -- so for the eggs you put in on 5 minutes, or do you have to add time for it to seal, so it's actually more? Also, do you ave to adjust the heat level, or should it be n the highest? Thanks!
Information is very clear. Thanks for the info. One problem - the link to the sealing rings doesn't work. What was the name brand of sealing rings you purchased on Amazon?
Making hard boiled eggs is the best-many years ago I was making stuffed eggs for work and the shells wouldn’t come off, I had to get more eggs. Love this feature ❤ I’d buy it just for hard boiled eggs!
This video was great. I love how you went into details with how to use the buttons and how to properly vent. What some other videos are missing. Also.. when I tried cooking with mine it kept saying BURN. What does that mean, please?
@@OlgasFlavorFactory LOL. That was definitely a thought. I ended up cooking oxtails for like 3 hours instead of 1. Ugh.... I'm making a whole chicken in there tonight. Thank you so much for your response. Am a subbie now. 😁
Put in water first, then oats ,don't add sugar or raisins as they stick to the bottom of the bowl. Turn it off if it says burn, vent it and open and wait.
Can I safely add a teaspoon of extract to the 1 cup of water for the bottom of the pot when baking a cake or might the alcohol in the extract cause problems? Will it add flavor to the cake? What if I used a real alcohol, like rum. Would it add flavor to the cake?. I am enjoying your video and your cheery disposition. Many thanks! for your sharing your education with us!
Excellent presentation - clear and concise explanations!!! Thank you very much. Recently we started using Instant Pot and find it amazingly useful. It's time to feed a new hungry subscriber:-) Stay connected...
I just received my 6-quart instapot. There is not a manual button on mine. The button says delay start where you have a manual button. I wish I had the manual. Of course they had to change it up. Delay start is not the same as manual so how can I do the manual operation? Thank you.
Hi Shannon. My Instant Pot is an older version. The Manual option is used as an all purpose option. Newer models have a "Pressure Level" option that you can use for the same function.
Good tutorial for beginners. My instant pot looks just like the one in this video but there is no manual setting. Is the pressure button the same as using manual?
I put my boiled eggs in fridge still in shell covered with water . So easy to pell and fridge life should be 3 + longer. Peel as you are ready to have one.
Thank you Olya! I've just purchased IP Instant Pot 60 DUO Plus (2017 made). However, I noticed that there is a newer version - Duo Nova (2019), that has an instant sealing lid and extra sealing ring. I am so new to it and was wondering if it make sense to exchange the purchased one for an updated version? What would you say? Amazon is really good at exchanging now. Thank you.
@@OlgasFlavorFactory yes...me too...and I learned a tip...when putting the IP away...don't close the lid...turn it upside down so that the sealing ring is exposed to the air while it is waiting to be used again. This was a great help in reducing the ring odour.
Dishwashing soap and a sponge. If there are some tough things to clean - I use the scouring pads that I talked about in this post on my website. www.olgasflavorfactory.com/recipes/miscellaneous/a-few-of-my-favorite-things-giveaway/
Hi Olga, thank you for the great video. I bought Express Pot 14-in-1 Multi-Cooker Electric Pressure Cooker. Is it actually an instant pot? All these names are so confusing! haha
I personally don’t usually don’t start cooking meat while it’s still frozen, unless I’m making broth. In my opinion, it’s a lot more flavorful if it’s thawed, and also seared first.
You cannot pressure cook with a silicon lid. Pressure only happens with the locking lid and internal sealing ring in place. You can cook many things with a right sized IP glass lid ( no pressure) or any correctly sized lid from another pot. Glass is nice, because you can see what is happening, and you can remove lid at ant time to stir or add additional ingredients.
@@MOMKAT1WV thank you so much for responding so quickly I do need to clarify. I know that you need to use the pressure cook lid but here's the dilemma. I want to cook a cheesecake but i don't want it to develope moisture inside the pan. I was worried that the silicone lid would explode off the cake pan when pressure cooking
@@elaynedavis3212 sorry I am slow. You can cover the cheese cake in whatever pan you use - spring form or lose bottom - with aluminum foil to prevent condensation from dripping into the cheese cake. That is a common covering when baking in the IP.
What happens when you don’t hear the music when opening the lid, is it closing properly or am I not secure with a close lid? I have not use, still trying to understand!!!
Great video and suggestion with spare sealing rings. (I've been cleaning mine with a touch of white vinegar but will by some.) Like an idiot, me, an experienced cook, poured the liquids TWICE into the inner container not the stainless steel container!

Secure lid. Set release valve to 'Sealing'. Select MANUAL. Adjust time to 24 minutes. Ensure it says HIGH pressure. After cooking finishes, let pressure drop off naturally. When pressure indicator pin drops down, open lid. Enjoy!

Just a heads up. To keep your sealing ring odor free just soak it in some baking soda & warm water for about 30 minutes.
