    Nice work. Never blackened the wood with stain. Always used paint. I will give this a try. The sign looks awesome.

    Just got my Longmill 48x30 in and anxious to make a few items to pay for it!!
    Killer video...I looked at your gear and I can see that the quality throughout your production equipment makes a difference!!

    Finally stumbled across the right video. This is what I needed to see.
    Ordered a Onefinity and trying to learn what I can before it gets here. I want to make a variation of these flags for my co-workers - (the blue variation).
    Now to find a good starter bit kit and spoil board tie downs.
    Thx!

    Very nicely done video! Very descriptive and informative. I loved the flag! Recently, I saw a content creator who clearly cared more about selling his wares than helping other creators. In fact, he was obvious about hiding certain procedures to protect his "secrets". This video is the standard for the creator community. No weird music, clear and concise information, and an awesome product. Thanks.

      Hey John, amazing comment and compliments. I appreciate that. In all fairness I see both sides of the coin, so to each their own on how much info they care to share. At the end of the day, I have 20 years experience running all sorts of CNC machinery and have invested quite a bit of time and education to learn what I know :) - however with that being said, I have been kicking the idea of doing a Pateron or Membership account here on TH-cam where members would get access to premium content and have access to files with tool paths already created that they can make and start selling right away. Of course that's for the people who seriously want to learn how to make a high quality flag and run a business, I will always be making and sharing tons of great content, actually getting ready to launch a ton of new videos here soon!

    I'm a retired LEO and I've been killing free time with woodworking projects. Suggestion on how what to use or templets for stars an/or where to find law enforcement badge stencils? I see your T has Riverside County Sheriffs. Are you in Riverside California?

    I love the flags you alway makes, I would like to talk to you about the program you use for your CNC machine. My wife got me a new Millright Mega XL CNC machine for my birthday and I will like to make a flag for me. Any advice or I can have a one on one with you. Do not worry, I am not a competitor, i am just a retired Coast Guard man who love the doing wood hobby.

      That was very nice of her. She must have a project in mind :) Thanks for the compliment I appreciate it. Been at this game for quite some time! I am actually shifting gears and have been working on some courses. I will soon be launching a MEMBERSHIP channel or a Patreon for users like yourself. I will offer monthly project files with toolpaths and sample files and go in depth on how to make signs you can sell!

    Whats the difference between the CNC machine and a laser engraver/cutter. I am looking at the 100 W C02 laser engraver/cutter machine, but wondering if I should look into CNC machines instead?

    • @RISENGRINDWORKSHOP
      @RISENGRINDWORKSHOP  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      2 completely different machines. One uses a rotary engraving spindle/router while the other is using a Laser Beam. You decide on a CNC Router or Laser based on the products you are looking to make. I can't decide which machine is the correct unit for you without any additional details. CNC router is way more complex to use, CNC laser is pretty much plug and play with a short learning curve. CNC router not even close. You will be in over your head and hate it.

    • @RISENGRINDWORKSHOP
      @RISENGRINDWORKSHOP  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the heat jacks everything up :) you want to torch lightly and take multiple passes to get the desired color and make sure you torch the back. IF you have damp wood, you'll need to put some supports on the backside!

    Looks like you get it dialed in every time. It takes me 12-15 tries before I finally get it dialed in on a new design for a flag and mine are the small tabletop flags

      We all started some where. I bought and sold old manual lathes and milling machines. Found an older HAAS VF1 and the seller made me a price I couldn't refuse. Planned to flip it, however I had always wanted to learn how to use a CNC machine. So began the journey. Just takes time and practice like anything. I miss having an automatic tool changer because I change tools often to get my designs to look good! Thanks for sharing, always here to help.

    notice the movement in your work piece. 3:57. great for wood working, not for machining
    up your game with better work holding or add a vacuum table.
    Great looking signs though.
