I have made over 150 wooden flags, and I think I am addicted. I like how you taper the edges of the strips and how you hand carve the stars. Great job on the video-2 Dumb Ass Approved!
Though there may be 100s (if not 1000s) of these videos, each one has a subtle and unique look to them. From one flag builder to another, your flags look amazing!
@@TrueAmericanCraftsman if you have glue squeezing out on the flag side how do you keep the jig from sticking to the top side? I didn’t see plastic on that side. Thanks. And can’t wait for the Jig. Nice Job! 🤝
Great flag may have to try the routered look on one. One suggestion get the dremel dust blower attachment for the stars it’s amazing and will blow the dust off perfectly when doing the stars it’s $3 at Home Depot.
Love to see that you carve the stars by hand. I make the 37” long flags and use the same dremel set up as you. It’s time consuming but my flags are completely hand made, looks better and more rustic than the ones people make using the computer engravers, those aren’t hand made and lack character. Nice video
Did you say your union was 5x7? And would you mind sharing the measurements of the union and total length on the other flags as well? Thank you. Awesome job on the flag by the way.
How much would you sell yours for? I followed this video and made one myself… thank you by the way. My dremmel skills were NOWHERE near as good as yours 🤣 love this project …. Appreciate you sharing so much info ❤️
Looks great! Am going to try one of these once I decide on a table saw. The frame gives it a nice finished look. Did you use wider pieces for it so that the flag appears “set back” a little?
Just came across your channel, I like the way you make the flags but I didn't see how you dealt with glue squeeze out, and when you applied the wax did the stain smear?
Hi! Thanks! Usually, for glue-squeeze out, i just use the tip of a lead pencil (no led) or something pointy and a paper towel to hit the main spots. It doesn’t affect the final outcome, which is nice. As for the wax, as long as the stain is dried fully and there isn’t any excess it works great!
Hello. My son is making this flag for a 4H project. His flag is only 8 inches from top to bottom. He used the 5/8” cut as the top of the flag. Was he supposed to have used the 3/4” We only noticed this when we went to cut the union. 5” was too far down
@@TrueAmericanCraftsman so if I make the flag exactly as you stated in the video the 5x7 union should be exact correct? I don’t wanna mess that part up… because you have the strips cut to 5/8” wide 13 of them and the length is 18” is this correct? Please let me know…
@@TrueAmericanCraftsman if your cutting at 5/8 that math doesn’t add up its like little over 8” 5/8 x13 strips, your back piece is stated only 8” so the whole flag width from what I see is 8”
Thank you for the tutorial! Made my first one today, turned out fantastic. Gonna make a bunch more for Christmas gifts.

How much did you charge for a flag this size
As a complete newbie to woodworking, your video was exactly what I needed. Great job!

Exelent work
I would like to see the flag jig build thanks. Awesome build too!
Thanks! I have a whole video on my channel that shows how I made it. Check it out! If ya have any question let me know!
I just re-watched your video. After you cut the union out, how did you get the ends of the red to be stained?
Great job! Just the size that I was looking for. Thanks
Thank you! The size for both the flag and the border should be in the description. The flag itself comes out to 18”x9”
Very nice I love the routed stripes. I haven't seen any one implement those before on builds.
Awesome.. I would love to see how you built that flag jig ..!! Thanks.

What do you charge for that size flag

Wow, great job! I salute you. Such a good job on the flag and making of the video.
Awesome video man. I definitely learned a couple things.. and I have watched the thousand other videos you mentioned. Great job!
I do my union start to finish on its own. Stain and paint the stars before putting it Into the flag.
I recently started switching to this method. Much More Efficient !
How much would you sell yours for? I followed this video and made one myself… thank you by the way. My dremmel skills were NOWHERE near as good as yours 🤣 love this project …. Appreciate you sharing so much info ❤️
I've made a bunch. I buy stars from Amazon now and glue them on with clear gorilla glue. Much faster than dremel
It def is faster! Haha i have a CNC now and use that for most of the stars
Love the video. Once you cut the small side of the Union I guess you have to chamfer that and stain the ends correct?
very nice, great teaching skills
It’s a awesome flag what do go for would appreciate the info thanks
Excellent! Thanks.
great video and yes a flag jig video would be awesome
Great job fella.
👍🇺🇸👍
Nice job!
Great Job!! Thanks for sharing
Exelent work, how much?
How did you make the flag jig?
What size Chamfer Bit do you use? The link is dead. Thanks. I like that look!

My wife did!

5/8" is definitely too small. I made the same mistake as your son.
3/4" stripes works out to be 8.94"
That will give you a 18"x 8.94" flag.
Love this flag build!!❤️🇺🇸❤️Where did you get your logo stamp made?
Awesome thank you!!
Asking please in how you made your flag jig…..😎
Great video! More Minwax colours not available in Canada (lol). 🤷♀️
Great job bro. I like that frame.
Did you use pine wood? Thank you in advance.
How much do you sell the small wooden flags?

What do you charge for the flag?
Love your makers mark. I’ve been trying to find something similar where and how did you get yours? Thanks
@@TrueAmericanCraftsman ohh ok. Yea I don’t Instagram. Is there another way to get ahold of him? Thanks.
I see a bunch of people asked you how much you sell these small flags for but see no answer. Curious as to how much you charge for one?
I’m fairly new at woodworking, so I’m wondering. How did you keep the glue from squeezing out the front?
Whats ur cost for a small flag?
Love to make a few, but where can I get the union for this?
@@TrueAmericanCraftsman ya I don’t see it, I can find on on Amazon thank you!!!! Amazing video by the way seen a lot but this is really really good…
Is it a true 5x7” ? Just want to make sure to get the dimensions correct in union.

Another question what’s the exact size of this flag, just the flag
If I am correct the flag you made is 8 1/8” wide X 18 length
How much you sell these for?

Hey Michael, are you planning on making a video on how you made your flag jig?
I’ve got my notification bell locked & loaded!!

Buy a CNC machine like I did and go to the moon. Well worth it

Love this style. Do you sell for 25.00?
Yep, really want to see how you did your jig.
Woodglut is nice for that.
You should try woodglut instrucions. You can get your money back if you don't like it
