HOW TO CUT A FLATTOP WITH FENDERS

The flattop haircut has always been a very popular haircut back in the fifties but kind of faded into oblivion during the unisex hair movement in the late 1960' and 70' it kinda made a comb-back in the eighties and early nineties before dropping off again. Thanks to the new interest in old-school and traditional barbering the Flattop is back stronger then ever. It has always been one of the most masculine haircuts sported by different musical subcultures such as rockabillies and psychobillies but has also been very popular amongst athletes, military men and blue collar workers... This variation, "The Flattop With Fenders" a.k.a. Flattop Boogie a.k.a. The Mac Curtis (Who made it even more popular as it was his signature haircut was a hit in the 50' The Flattop with Fenders has always been a bit of a bad boy haircut worn by musicians, villains and vagabonds who wanted to look bad ass...

The flattop with fenders (flattop DA, Flattop Boogie, Flattop Philly, Flattop Detroit....) is a classic and one of my most favorite looks. I had one for 10 years in the 1990s when flattops again were very popular in the US. I love to give these cuts and love wearing one. I'm glad they're coming back into fashion. I like all flattops and the fenders are awesome!

Nice cut but a flat with fenders looks better with the top shorter than that. There should be a contrast between the short flat top and the long slicked sides.
