- "A BIG thank you to my Dad for letting me put my cartoon (Psychopups) dog character stickers on his Hot Rod as part of my Senior Graduation High School class project. You are the GREATEST Dad in the World!"
Senior project details:
Graduation Project Topic: Branding, production, marketing and promotion of my cartoon characters.
Issue: Are cartoon characters able to evoke serious emotions or are they just for humor?
Meadowsa car sculpted from foam. Not a Kit Car. Check out Psychopups video to see car run.
i love when people diy their own stuff. it shows how versatile human ingenuity really is
My goodness...what an outstanding project! Your car comes with that classic 80s-supercar-look that I prefer until present day. Kepp it up - it´s time to build the next one ;)
Nice work dude. Its really neat and the finish, fits and gaps looks very accurate.
Woaah the paint makes it look like 50x better =O Fantastic work
God this is incredibly great! I have a twin fiero.
I now have a '03 z24 and i want to create my own body kit. I am going to reference this video every step of the way when i make mine! Phenomenal!
Well done thats the best one i've seen, extremely detailed
I 'm an artist that can visualize my creations before they are started. I really enjoy 3D work so sculpting comes easy for me. I have been tweaking cars and customizing them for more than 35 years so experience plays a big part in it. I'm glad to hear from you and hope you enjoy it! MAD Matt
The craftsmanship is beyond professional. I wonder what you could do with an MR2!
@tomrideshortbus I used urethane foam to sculpt the body shape, covered it with fiberglass mat, cloth and resin. I then dug out / removed the foam and sanded the fiberglass, pulled a skim coat of body filler over the entire surface. I then sanded and sanded and sanded ....well you get the idea. Next it was primed several times and sanded some more. After 16 (10) hour days of sanding and blocking it finally received a base coat/clear coat paint. Presto chango....a one off custom body.
this is great work, looks beautiful dude!, im planning to do a similar work with my car but i have never tried this before so wish me luck x)
Thanks for all the kudos! I wasn't sure about the wing either...but I went for it any way as I wanted the car more race than street. I guess one could say wings are for race cars and spoilers are for street cars. Different strokes for different folks!
I found the foam at an industrial insulation company many years ago. They had it in huge blocks and cut it on a giant table/band saw. I had them cut it in 4x8 sheets 2" thick. FYI
pretty good job man ! this is awesome .
Thanks for the kudos! A lot of hard work went into this project and I appreciate your positive comments.
Amazing... I dont like the flames, but is not that bad as to kill the car IMO, nice job!!! Very very well done!! Can I ask you what did you use to hold the foam to the car while shaping it? Thanks and once more, great work!!
respect to the work you've done, you have there a great looking car...
Woah! What an artist! So, you sculpted on top of your car first, right? Then, you fibreglass and resin on the foam...while the foam is still on the car, right? And then it harden up? What do you mean dig out/remove? Do you mean you dig it out between the actual car and the figbreglass structure? Or do you just pop out the fibreglass structure? And, finally ... how did you make it all look like that? Did you just pull out the old body and placed it with this one?
nice work, greetings from Croatia!!!
Awesome work!
Great work! Where can you purchase the sheeted urethane foam you're using? Thanks!
wow. looks great.
I built my own car also. It is called the JZ Cobra. I used clay to get the shape instead of foam. This allowed me to get a more sophisticated shape. Have a look at my videos. I give step by step instruction on how to do it for those who want to give it a go!
Awesome Job!!!
That's actually kinda bad ass good job!! Mite have to try it out on a fuckus! Mite make it look a little better :-D!!
i say well done ,, you did an awesome job... just not sure about the big wing on the back tho,, but its down to diffrent tastes :)
you think you could make a mold directly from the foam mock up?
looks like the car from back to the future lol
Are you an expert sculptor? Because i would have no idea how to scuplt the body.
how did you do the fiberglass. thats what i really want to learn how to do. so i can do my own bodykits on my cars. it would save me alot of money
You are talented. I may dislike your design and outcome but the quality of work is there. Take some style cues from people like Chip Foose. Try not to make the car look more busy then it needs to be.
ever thinking of making body kit molds ?
you are a extremely skilled craftsman, its some really solid smooth work, but when it comes down to taste, i think this car looks absolutely terrible, i like the front but the scoop and wing and whole rear looks really bad, but thats just my opinion, the actual work is amazing!
cool
houston we have a problem...lol
It looks nice untill you put that wing! But thats just my opinion.
the decals or vinyls were a little to much he should've left it clean
nice work, but the little kiddie stickers is kinda lame
