An SSX Tricky video? IN 2024??? Nothing short of awesome. I recently remembered this game out of the blue and decided to emulate it. It took me a while to find the right file for it, but I got it running eventually. Playing it flooded me with nostalgia, remembering how as a very young kid this was one of my favorite NGC games to play. And now, seeing speedruns, TAS showcases, even this video published in 2024... It brings me an inexplicable joy and warmth in my heart. The fact that there's still a community that plays this game that's 2 years older than ME puts a smile on my face. I know this may sound awkward, but thank you and the rest of the SSX Tricky community for putting in all this time. Also you shredded this course, keep it up! ♥
@idontexist7294 thank you for the support! i started back in '04 on the NGC as a suuuper young kid, and nostalgia is pretty much what brought me back to play these games again around 2014. the community is still going strong on Discord! if you want to join, here's a link from the Speedrun page: discordapp.com/invite/0udWvVf033tJS5kz
What an excellent run. Would I be accurate in saying that the timing to land an uber trick seems much more lenient in the gamecube version vs the ps2 version? I grew up only playing the ps2 version for a super long time and it seems like the GC version is waaay tighter when it comes to uber tricks being able to be successfully landed right when the animation ends
I have no idea, that was forever ago if it was actually posted anywhere. His scores were at a time where there was basically no attention whatsoever on Tricky showoff as a whole. there's a tiny bit of a scene nowadays, but still not much. plus, there's such dubious history and recordkeeping around tricky showoff records that this score would be the record, even if that xcon video were republished.
"So, how'd you get enough airtime to pull of that trick?"
"I bounced off the crowd."
"...What?"
"I bounced off the crowd."

Congrats on the world record! Awesome job on this run!
The return of the king
The realistic thing about this game is when you mess up, restarting as fast as you absolutely can 😂

@@kelecat7094 honestly his runs shouldn't have been unlisted/privated in the first place for seemingly no reason.
What emulator are you using
Dolphin Emulator, one of the relatively recent "experimental" builds (most likely was 5.0-20347)
Awesome run, but sorry to break it to you, I have actually crossed the 3.2 barrier. That was last year. Sorry
And got 3.146 million in 2021
OH MY GOODNESS
