  • So, you're after a small car to get you from A to B, but it can't cost the earth to buy or to run? Well, the Suzuki Celerio could be right up your street, check this video to find out why.
    At a price starting from £7,999 it's one of the cheapest new cars you can buy in the UK at the moment and the base models gives you the basics such as front electric windows, six airbags, DAB radio, CD player and central locking.
    The model tested here is the mid-range model, which is priced from £9,649 and adds 14" alloy wheels, Bluetooth, air conditioning and remote central locking.
    Underneath the bonnet you'll find a naturally aspirated three-cylinder 1.0 litre petrol engine which offers 67bhp and 90Nm of torque. This power is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, although an automatic is available if you go for the range-topping model.
    A Dualjet engine is also available - for the mid-range model - which is essentially the same engine but it has twin fuel injectors. giving it a bit more torque and better economy.

    Hello everyone, thank you for dropping in on my review of the Suzuki Celerio. As always, if you have any questions about the car, or indeed about the channel, please comment and I will get back to you as quickly as I can. Thanks for watching!

      I just have a bit of housekeeping to attend to with this video, I've mentioned that the Celerio's boot is the biggest in class, but in fact the Picanto offers 1 litre more (255 litres) therefore that is the biggest in class. Regardless of this, the Celerio still offers a very competitive boot size in its class.

    This is a reasonable and compelling review. You have a clear narration and your videos have the simplicity of showing the essentials. A very professional job. Recently I replaced my 2010 VW polo with a 2017 Celerio and understanding that they are vehicles that correspond to two different categories I dont feel disappointed. The Celerio is a simple and functional vehicle, but very fun to drive. It bothers me how other authors insist on making fun of Celerio making forced comparisons and criticizing him for the lack of leather seats or turbo charger.

    Hi Aaron, what a refreshing review of a not so fancy car. Very honest and down to earth. I have owned an unpretentious Celerio SZ2 for 2.5 years now and I cannot really complain. Very peppy, easy to park and economical. I have been averaging 60 - 63.4 mpg and have covered almost 20k miles so far, driving to work, going shopping etc, on the motorways and in Europe with no faults at all. Servicing is very affordable, although the Celerio falls into group 7 insurance - all Suzukis are classified well behind the Citigo or i10 basic spec. I have seen car prices go up and up and at the moment £8k for the base trim seems quite excessive considering what you do not get as standard. Other manufacturers have really upped their game these days regarding the safety features etc. What I am pleased about is that Suzuki have expanded its dealership network enormously since last year, so the brand does want to get a larger piece of the UK car market, but what I definitely admire about any Suzuki car is their reliability - a key factor over some other cars that would require fixing it again tomorrow.

    Nice balanced review. For me, the way the lightness shines through the ride quality is a joy to behold. I've owned a number of BMWs and Audis and I genuinely prefer driving the Celerio. Heavy cars feel dull and artificial by comparison.
    Build and engineering quality of the Celerio are excellent. It is assembled with precision, and all controls feel smooth and well judged. The gearshift has the best action and feel of any car I have driven, and the drivetrain gives you the sense it could take serious miles and never miss a beat.
    While many "Premium" cars major on superficial materials, they do not feel as well engineered as the Celerio. It has quality where it counts.

    I think this is a cracking little car - owners reviews seem as delighted with their cars as motoring journalists are unimpressed - not least because it has proven very reliable and the quality is good where you can't see it - in the engineering. Nice review, Aaron.

    • @CarObsession
      @CarObsession  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The thing is, is that you need to have the right expectations of this car. Yes, it's cheap and plasticy, but it's a car that in standard form, costs less than £8,000. Like anything in life, you get what you pay for. If this car was £5,000 more, then of course you could complain about its shortcomings. Thanks for watching Nodge X!

    • @Ambienfinity
      @Ambienfinity 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I would have this over any other City car, to be honest. It will do over 60 mpg, is proving very reliable and that boxy shape makes it roomier than nearly all its rivals.

    • @bartjanflikkema
      @bartjanflikkema 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Indeed Nodge X, It is good in its engineering. I have one, everything just works, I get 27km/l average, and it tops out at the autobahn at 179km/h gps measured. And at that speed, it is still stable, and doing 14km/l(maximum). At a 1150km trip, of which 400km mostly unrestricted autobahn, the rest max 130km/h, I managed to get 21km/l. The car just does more than you expect, and that is a very good thing.

      Car Obsession Well, the C2 would obviously be cheaper than the Suzuki as it’s only available used, and the Celerio only scored 3 stars in the Euro NCAP crash tests, whereas the C2 managed 4 stars in adult occupant protection.
