- This is actually a redo of the very first cover request I received from a fan! This was all the way back in 2006. They wanted me to play "The Sunlit Garden" from Revolutionary Girl Utena. You can still find this video on TH-cam, but of course back then it was the 'early days' of TH-cam and instrumental covers, so I did not even know how to record digital audio yet (I figured it out a few months later right before this channel was born). It's nice to revisit it, and with higher quality audio and visual.

For just a little bit... I felt like Kyle, You, Me and other people commenting, were all connected in some way; somehow.
Utena has always been such a special anime. I discovered it in college; I graduated some ten years ago. And whenever I heard this, I got such a deep sense of pure, regal, complete joy. You perfectly capture that here in your own version--a sweetness that is both proud and humble, if that makes any sense. I've been a fan of yours since 2009 and all I can say really is thank you for gifting us all with the texture and color that only your music can weave and capture all of us in. Towards the end, I was imaging Anthy and Utena in the garden and getting teary-eyed, it felt, not only sounded so gentle. Doumo, Kyle-san.
15 years later this song still makes me my eyes water.
it just hits so different hearing the raw piano without the other instruments. like its much more emotional somehow. this is so perfect.
This anime makes my heart hurt. I feel like I never got the true satisfaction. Ambiguity is good at times but this time the ambiguity left me crying

you should watch the movie! it's a "retelling", but it's actually a sequel. in the anime, utena saved anthy. in the movie, anthy goes back and saves utena

The first where I had any idea what anime was would be Neon Genesis evangelion.
But in hindsight I'd seen dubbed versions of Dragonball Z, and Sailor moon well before that
And of then there's the really strange early adaptation of Samurai Pizza Cats, which has little in common with it's japanese source material...
And in the category of technicalities, there is 'mysterious cities of gold'.
Which is a co-production between french and japanese television, and was animated by a japanese studio...
Yeah, anime in the 80's and 90's was a bit confusing. XD
This song has lived rent-free in my head for the last 7 years, and I wouldn't imagine ever kicking it out! BEAUTIFUL rendition of one of my favorite anime songs!!

This must be one of the best days of my life to find such a great, emotional, and expressive pianist. On a road trip, you’re always looking for some good music, but coming up on something like this is unbelievable. I’m sure your music will comfort me for many days to come, as it’s resonance and feeling pierced my ears with delight. Thank you Kyle. One request I have is something from hollow knight, possibly even a medley. It would really make my day, and I’m sure you can do it. Hopefully I can learn from you too and improve on my own piano skills. I feel like I can really conclude this as one of the best days of my life, as the greatest days will treat me for a lifetime.

KuraIthys I found Yurikuma much harder to follow, personally. You can see a lot of the influence Utena’s director had on Shoujo Kageki Revue Starlight’s director in that anime, both being theater-oriented and highly symbolic. It would be awesome if Kyle covered a song from Revue Starlight! It has such good music.
