NieR: Automata - A Beautiful Song (Opera Boss Theme) [Advanced Piano Cover]

This is the next installment of my NieR Automata series! Used the piano collections version to work on my arrangement, but quickly realized that nearly all of the harmony was incorrect, and the melody and feel of the original piece was not present. I tried my best to follow the actual track for my arrangement. I hope you enjoy!

That's how I made my arrangement, pretty much crossing out the entire piano collections score and fixing the chords and highlighting the melody XD

There are quite a few aspects I like a lot more than Animenz’s improvisation too. Overall I’d prefer this one

Both are good covers, but I also enjoy this one significantly more just because it really carries the same if not more energy as the original. Better yet, I love the constant changes in speed and rhythm he introduces throughout the song.

Beautiful. This cover really brings out the almost admonishing, harsh tones of the song, while keeping the more melodic parts solemn and nearly mournful. I couldn’t forget that inner voice’s chromaticism at 1:21, truly added a nice touch! It fit perfectly.

Really nice cover :) Definitely has a completely different feeling than the piano collection, more "true" to the soundtrack.
Though, I really like the piano collection version too. Great spicy reharmonization and that change to a somewhat jazzy sounding elegy really resonated with me.
But I think you're right, if you're trying to do a more "true to ost" cover, copying off of the piano collections version is a pretty bad idea ^^
Since you started all the NieR stuff, I've been watching people talking about its psychology and just recently started playing it again and cleaning up some trophies.
