Just got two units of the p20ix after watching yours and others reviews. Awesome light. Still need a bit of a compact thrower so this P23i or even the way bigger P35i should do the trick. I’m a night worker and do everything at night so my lights have become my best friends from late night shopping, walking to the work building with no lights outside or throwing the trash at 4 AM, using my nitecores to make sure I don’t run into orb weaver spider webs lol. Great video review as always & thank you NITECORE for making quality products!
There are many good options for compact throwers. If you’re partial to nitecore they have the mh25v2! Acebeam has a series L16 through L19 and olight has the warrior x series.. Fenix has the TK20 there’s a bunch of larger ones too from all brands.
Bought it! The MH12SE came yesterday and the P23i will be here two days after Christmas. I now own at least 24 fullsize Nitecore flashlights along with multiple tubes, batteries, etc. Nitecore fan!
Cannot stress enough how good your reviews are on pointing and explaining those "little" details that make night and day difference in real situations. Features, put in real life context, that the rest of the flashlight reviewers simply overlook, focusing on nuances like threads, knurlings, lanyards, etc. Those people need to understand that the momentary Turbo/Strobe ready features are of social importance. Just like the antilock brakes (ABS). The flashlight is the undisputed best self defense tool, according to the experts: the most effective, legal, safe, non damaging and multitasking of them all. Thing is, none of those is valid of you don't have the right one in your hands - that's where your great reviews step in. Well done! 👍👍
I love the option to go to turbo and then back to the previous setting so quickly, real game changer. I could see this replacing my olight warrior on my night walks, hunting and my security job.
I live in a country where carrying a firearm for self defense is completely out of the question, so my flashlight is my best defense as a tool, and Nitecore is my light of choice. I carry the MH11 at all times with a spare battery. An upgrade would be awesome. Great tools.
I work security in a high crime area and have to do hourly checks around a dark warehouse this light would definitely make me feel more safe as this light has everything I need I'm using a fenix at the moment
@leeedwards3421 I use them for security also Nitecore Brand is good quality The only thing you need to know It's not really a Con but just to keep In mind Is that they get real warm real quick *Especially on Turbo* even with only a few seconds of scanning Due to their compact size and lack of Heat Sink Besides that everything else Functionality Reliability and Performance Is 100%👍👍
I like the shotgun and rifle comparison. Great way of describing the difference between the 2 lights. Guess my p20ix is getting a new brother. Excellent video as usual my friend 👍
This torch would be ideal for me as my last torch was stolen at work and I’m now torchless, your channel has been great for researching my next torch and this one looks perfect thank you for the information you give
I work as a consultant in the legal industry (documentation/evidence). Lots of late nights in cities across the country. Leaving a remote office for my hotel at 2am requires vigilance especially in downtown metro areas. Started carrying a tactical flashlight as part of my safety kit. Currently using a MT2A (based on your video on how it use it in a self defense posture - very helpful!). Loving the MT2A, but now intrigued by beefier options.
Loved the video and the production behind it. The information you gave in the video helped me confirm my decision to purchase this light for my upcoming camping trip. Keep up the great work!
With your professional review got myself a p20ix for my work recently. Its flight safety related and a good flashlight is essential. With a new thrower i will be able to reach high up from ground level partically to the aircraft tail section. Been a nitecore fan and owned P25, MH12, MH1C and BP25 with numerous accessories just to name a few.
Great review. I gave you a sub. Just got my 23i this evening. Wow, that thing is bright! I really like the features and the feel of the buttons. The feel does make a difference to me. I've had some lights that I didn't like the feel of how the buttons worked. I even like the holster. I will likely carry it in tactical mode and will seemingly never need it over their "low" mode of 250 lumens because of its nice concentrated beam. So glad I decided on this light. I'm truly impressed with it.
I am not in law enforcement or the military. We live in a rural area where there are virtually no city lights. We live next to my father in law who is dependent on us to help him. There are many times that he calls us at night to come down and help him. With no lights in the area and his house being a ways away we need to use flashlights to find our way. Currently, we just use some energizer flashlights which have 350 lumens. It doesn't light up as much as I would like to feel safe. This flashlight would allow us to see anything (mainly animals) that may be in our path and scare them off. This would help my wife feel safer as well. Thanks Nitecore!
Such a great update to my mh12s. More Lumen output, better throw and the strobe ready switch make me feel way more secure in my job as train driver. I'm very often at german train stations during duty and the crime rate there is pretty high. Also a good throw is important for me, because you often have to see over long distances in the night. Great Video!
I live in the Northern Territory, Australia where target acquisition at distance is paramount. I’m currently running a focusable 1000 lumen competitor flashlight and instantly can see the benefit of the N23. Unfortunately for others, a 3000 lumen strobe will more than likely be handy as well 🤨 Keep up the great work guys 🇸🇬 🇦🇺
I picked up my p23i a few hours ago to replace my mh12v2 i bought just a couple months ago as edc in my jacket. I love my mh12v2,but i wanted even longer range and better ability to break car Windows during car accidents (i can happen at any time). Really impressed by the rugged build quality, still haven't tried it outside,so i am really looking forward to testing it more. The mh12v2 impressed me alot,so i know my new p23i is going to blow my mind hehehe. I started with 2dollar led lights, this is my 3 Nitecore flashlight i have bought within a year or 2,and i can already feel the need for many more,i guess i am hooked on your flashlights hehehe. Thanks for making awesome products and for being so active on social media with great videos. :)
Been using the P20I for work in SCDF. Been a great main light for rescue and search light. Battery lasts a long time and the compact size makes it easy to throw in the pocket. With more incidents occurring in the dark the further throw and brighter beam would be a great secondary light for my work.
I work as a neighborhood security, watches approximately 400-500m2 area, consist of residential units, school complex with wide field and stores. currently in my disposal I use Nitecore TIP SE, it works wonderfully as a near inspection light but not so in longer distance, I think Nitecore P23i will be the best for my TIP SE companion. Great review, keep it up.
I work as a security guard and part time firefighter. Have been using an Olight M2R but that’s much more of a flood beam and doesn’t serve as well for doing searches. Especially in less than desirable conditions. This light would be a great Xmas gift :)
What an awesome light! We have an AR 15 for home defense we got recently but no light yet. This would be perfect for us. Unfortunately my only shot is to win one having 4 kids and 1 income. I was going to look on Amazon for something cheap if I get any Christmas money. When we leave to go camping, hiking or such and can't take the rifle I could easily take it off and carry it in the holster. Right now I have a olight i3t so this would be a huge improvement all the way around for us. Great video btw! I would def buy all that for $229 if it were possible, great deal. It all looks top shelf!
Excellent flashlight presentation, i already own 2 nitecore lights and several chargers, this light will work really well as universal all around tool around the house, work, camping,... Good job Nitecore !
Great light and presentation! This would work damn well in the checkpoint environment. Search of vehicles with this light will be so much better with the brighter lumens! The 3000 lumens would be a useful penetration to search longer vehicles.
I recently got the 23i and took a risk not getting the Olight W3S but now I see I made the right decision. The 23i just rocks! The rear buttons work fantastic. I love the tactical mode since I have turbo always there if needed and can adjust so quickly to lower lumen power when I want.
I bought one of these after watching your video. Very impressed with it, however the NTH20 holster that you can buy separately is not worth buying. The flashlight continually pops out of it even when you're not moving or walking so in rapid movement or if attached to a bag etc there is the risk of losing it! The flashlight though, is well worth the money.
It will help me find my drone in case of emergency. I do a lot of drone work as a photographer and a crash is always posible. I am also a proud owner of 3 dogs and this flashlight will help me locate them in the dark. Thank you for the giveaway!
Ill add it to my nitecore collection. Right now im using the TM9K. Im a night auditor and the only security for a 200 room hotel. My TM9K has saved my butt when i get aggressive homeless walking up towards me. This P23i would be awesome for spotting things on the the other side of the property!
I would love that light I work as a gardener in Germany and in the winter it's always dark till 8:30am and I also go to South Africa every year on safari but I still need a good flashlight for the night time safari drives. Love your videos!
Great light as always, as a person working night shift. this light will help me every bit of time, i am currently using a sofirn SP10S and this light will be a great upgraden for my EDC
As prison officer in malaysia, this will truly help me in my daily routine in patroling not only inside perimeter but also outside perimeter that includes the flat or resident area. Lighting like nitercore p231 produce in output will maximise the effectiveness each time the patrolling occur
I like so much of nitecore products. Since my first p20 I have EC21, NU 21 and many others and no stop yet. This new p23 looks very effective for my line of work. Much more light increase my vision and I used to work in the field ops. So see first and see better is way to sucess. And I want that p23.👊👊👊
Awesome light. Working outside every day of the year a flashlight is a part of my daily arsenal. This would be a huge upgrade from my current old light.
I dig for utilities underground during the day. i need a super bright light to be able to see in the hole regardless of the sunshine. tthis light seems great
having P10i for a year now. very handy indeed, small and compact, using it for insect trapping, forest patrolling and using it on disaster relief as well. the only draw back is the beam distance still not enough for searching mission and for some reason the lens tend to fog up after submerged. well the massive one it's unable to tail standing, quite hard for me because using it for hour just for collecting insects. hopefully this P23i bring more runtime and able to stand for hours. great video anyway!
Love your review on this light. I have used my tip se for small inspection for electrical equipment. I love it but i thinks it is the time for upgrade to a better light.
The P23i looks like an really good option for my duty. I use an Wowtac A1S while I am working. It's pretty good but the user interface isn't that much superior. The P23i would be a really awesome replacement for the Wowtac A1S.
I can say by use with the 23i the user interface is even much better than I thought. I've learned to just keep it in tactical mode since it gives me the defensive mode I want always there and since I can adjust the lumen setting lower sooooo quickly, it's the dream light for me.
I work in damaged commercial buildings performing assessments through all areas (basement garges, stairwells etc.) with only hand held and head mounted lighting (when allowed). Something like this would be a huge upgrade over my current set up.
Having this light and needing it for doing inspections in all lighting conditions, the 23i rocks! I keep it in tactical mode since it is so fast to adjust the lumens to where I want them. Fantastic light!
With the new P23i it definitely will help me during my travelling to countries with really low lighting. Prior to this I have been using the MH series like MH10V2. With the new 21700 battery that can give me 2hr 30mins runtime and with 3000 lumens compared to my MH10V2 which gives out 1200 lumens, it's definitely an upgrade for me. Hopefully I do win the giveaway so I can get an upgrade :) Really educational and good quality video explaining the lights so keep up the good work 👍
I used to travel the world but mainly in Asia. I always had a light with me to see, be seen, and for defensive purposes. If I was still doing that, I'd get the 23i for sure. For my work now and life doing things in all the light conditions, the 23i has been great for me.
Wich would be better in a self defence situation in a building or on the street. The P20iX with the flood strobe or the p23i. Also would the P20iX be suitsble for camping and using it for general tasks like getting fire wood or a quick walk to grab something?
OK. OK. O.K. You have totally convinced me to slide out my credit card and drain my bank account a little and buy one of these very powerful and useful flashlights. Keep up your excellent presentations…you are one of the best online sales representatives out there (by the way, ask your boss for a much deserved raise will you - tell him I sent you) 😂😂😂)...👍👍👍👏👏👏😊😊😊
I use p20i for most of my work as policeman.. i really need an upgrade brightness since my working environtment getting wider.. p20ix brighter but its more of flood light.. i think this new p23i will do the justice.. i also like the tailcap which will be usefull when we get blackout and in small room..i always use p20i to light up the room by shooting the beam at ceiling but sometimes its hard coz u need to hold it..
Been using the Nitecore MH27 (I bought her for her magnificent throw) for years and years now, and while I love it and it still works pretty well, I do think it's starting to go. It sometimes it doesn't want to switch from low to moonlight of from low to med. Kind of have to tap it. I've dropped this thing hundreds of times and after all these years I'm surprised she's even still kickin. This flashlight would serve me well as a replacement. It's bright, has a great throw, and is probably a bit smaller than the MH27 which would make it easier to carry along with the rest of my kit. Looove those super long throw, tight beams.
All I can say is after looking at many lights, I took the chance on the 23i. As they say, "You pays yo money and you take ya chances." With the 23i, it was WELL worth the money and chance. Love this light.
i was thinking of getting P20ix in the future...so with P23i launched, i assume there should be a P23ix coming...just a guess...i will wait and see next year
This is definitely the best light for user like me to use it in daily activities and also some specific works such as searching or mending things. And hope that I am lucky to win one for myself
Well I got the P20i last year as a gift, but starting as a police officer next month, I might need a thrower too! I think I can fit two lights on my belt!
This will be great for use when we go campervan as power is limited and best reserve for the fridge. So powerful, probably can check far when animals come to our campsite.
I am using the tini 2 and tip SE for inspecting aircraft at night, both inside the cabin/cockpit and externally during walk arounds. There are times that the aircraft is far away, which made me realize that I need a more powerful flashlight that has a higher throw.
I believe the P23i would be a great alterative light especially for home use. I currently use the Olight SR Baton II but it is no where near the lumen count of the P23i especially when walking my dogs at night right next to a woody area were deer and other animals rome.
I carried the Olight Warrior Mini 2 for several months. Great light even with its few flaws. Since I got the 23i, I canNOT go back to the Mini 2. The 23i puts the Mini 2 to shame. Of course, the 23i is larger and heavier but I find it is WELL worth it.
@julius rowe That's what I am doing now. I have been buying nitecore lights to replace my other lights. I was big into streamlight and Fenix but to be honest they just aren't cutting it. They are good lights don't get me wrong but Nitecore just does it better in a lot of ways. I have a couple Olights also but they usually just stay in the closet and collect dust. Heck I don't even think they are charged up lol.
Need a nice throw light to do signalling for vehicles, the momentary tail switch sounds great for this purpose. Also do lots of nature walks and this could help point out the animals
Hi ! Is it normal for the tail cap (or the tube itself) to be hard to screw in and need some force or pressure to screw it back and feel something is grinding between the battery and the tail cap ... or is it the threads?
Being a paramedic, I use my flashlight for a wide variety of things, but all essential parts of my job. For example locate victims, search for house numbers or street names when trying to get to the caller's location, search a house's interior or trash bin for valuable information (like hidden medication packaging), provide my collegue with light to treat our patiënt, and sadly sometimes to defend ourselves when things are about to get out of hand. I currenty use a Heider 18650-flashlight, which is "okay", but not very use-friendly in terms of it's controls, plus it's having a bad connection somewhere, causing it to keep changing modes automatically. Long story short, I think the new P23i is the perfect for my job because it's compact, easy to control, has a nice mixed beam, and offers some self-defense options (strobe + bezel) in case of an emergency (obviously we as paramedics don't have any other tools to defend ourselves). Thank you for the fun and informative reviews, you got me hooked on Nitecore!
As I work in a club, this seems to be effective as the compact beam would ensure that I can target the group or person that I need it to, rather than stunning everyone, but the spill seems enough for me to use it as a searchlight. Added plus is the durability which ensures that I would be prepared for what may come in a dark and rowdy club. Currently using a a p20i, and am thinking of upgrading coz I would benefit from more power.
The 23i is blinding. I mean intense! It still offers practical lumen ranges too for everyday life uses. I'm very happy with mine and think it will meet your needs too.
I just ordered the P10ix & P20ix after watching your videos. The P23i would be great for when I run early in the morning with my dogs. There are coyotes & bears in the state forest where we run. This would help me identify what animal it is and the instant strobe feature could help deter them.
I currently use 1800 lumens with the mh12se, so 3000 lumens is just a massive flex with this torch. I'd love to win this giveaway to have a dedicated torch in my fire kit.
I am still student and working on a farm. I have really long way to school, so this flashlight would be really useful in situations when something unexpected happen or during traveling. Also on the farm when some Animal run Away and you need to fond them 😃 I am actually using armytek prime C2 pro
The p23i steps down from 3k lumens to 1800lumens after approx 30seconds.The nice thing is that it stays on 1800lumens until the battery runs out, around 2h30min on 1800lumens,good performance.
MJ, how long can P23i sustain turbo mode at 3000 Lumens before it auto dims down? The runtime at Turbo mode is stated as 30mins, I am surprise a 5000mAh battery can only last 30mins. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance for your enlightening answer.

Stay safe brother
Same working nights always need a good light I would run through the Amazon Cheapos finally got a nitecore mh12s and love it
Must be an Aussie looking out for Orb weavers.... Don't get bitten; It's worse than all the known spiders everyone always talks about.
Same feeling here :)
Bought it! The MH12SE came yesterday and the P23i will be here two days after Christmas. I now own at least 24 fullsize Nitecore flashlights along with multiple tubes, batteries, etc. Nitecore fan!
Is it true it is addicting to buy tactical flashlights? I am about to buy my first one.
@@rmcf3972 True. I have hundreds!

I use them for security also
Nitecore Brand is good quality
The only thing you need to know

Is that they get real warm real quick
*Especially on Turbo*
even with only a few seconds of scanning
Due to their compact size
and lack of Heat Sink
Besides that everything else

Is 100%👍👍
I use the P20i daily for LE, Fire, and Security. I would definitely recommend Nitecore. This one will definitely be my next purchase.
Good choice, and stay safe

You cycle into beacon mode and then you get stabbed. I haven't laughed at a review that hard in my life. Thanks now I'm buying this.
I really enjoy your reviews. Always on point, no nonsense.
Buying one today great video
i think I'm gonna replace my trusty MH12S with this one as a main light. So far, Nitecore haven't disappointed me👍👍👍👍👍.

I own P20iX and P20i already! Now it is time for me to buy P23i. It will be very useful for me to watch over my big field for wild animals.

Much more light increase my vision and I used to work in the field ops. So see first and see better is way to sucess. And I want that p23.👊👊👊
Awesome light. Working outside every day of the year a flashlight is a part of my daily arsenal.
This would be a huge upgrade from my current old light.
I do work in all light conditions too and love the 23i for that.
All I can say is, I'm VERY happy with my 23i.
This will help keep me safe on my nightly walks through my high crime neighborhood.
Just got my P23i to replace my lost P20iX, working night shift in security as well, yet to test out on the ground but so far looks good
working as a security guard at trainstations
this would be the perfect lite, but my srt7 revenger from 2013 is still going strong😅
That would be a great replacement for my SRT7GT With 3400mAh 18650.
The ring adjustment is not as smooth as originally described
MH12SE, P20ix are formidable lights, but the P23i meets the most diverse activities, very good Nitecore release.
Top light!
Are you guys planning on making a “P23IX”? I would love the see that. 🔥
This looks awesome. It'll fit nicely between the P20i and the P20iX I'd use it for neighbourhood patrols.
Wich would be better in a self defence situation in a building or on the street. The P20iX with the flood strobe or the p23i. Also would the P20iX be suitsble for camping and using it for general tasks like getting fire wood or a quick walk to grab something?
I’m planning to get a nitecore for edc/multi purpose use and I can’t decide which model have. It’s nitecore P23i or P20iX. Which one is the best?
OK. OK.
This is the video I've been waiting for👍🏴
Great video again. I have the MH12s and this would be a great step up for the industrial inspections I do.
This light looks really interesting. I’ve really liked several of your recent lights but I haven’t had a tactical light from you.
i was thinking of getting P20ix in the future...so with P23i launched, i assume there should be a P23ix coming...just a guess...i will wait and see next year
This is definitely the best light for user like me to use it in daily activities and also some specific works such as searching or mending things. And hope that I am lucky to win one for myself
Can you use the 6000mah battery from nitecore in this flashlight to get better runtimes
Great light for our everyday family missions:)
Well I got the P20i last year as a gift, but starting as a police officer next month, I might need a thrower too! I think I can fit two lights on my belt!
Witch one would you suggest to put on a scooter to see well when the road is wet and to beat up coming lights coming from cars ?
Nth-25 locking holster where can you buy that flashlight holster thanks
This will be great for use when we go campervan as power is limited and best reserve for the fridge. So powerful, probably can check far when animals come to our campsite.
Love it! I use Nitecore all the time and would use this edc! Thanks!
How long can we keep the turbo consistently on? Thank you
This is a must for security work, but they're also pretty fun just to use 😄
I am using the tini 2 and tip SE for inspecting aircraft at night, both inside the cabin/cockpit and externally during walk arounds. There are times that the aircraft is far away, which made me realize that I need a more powerful flashlight that has a higher throw.
Excellent video
Does it have a spring on each side of battery?
I believe the P23i would be a great alterative light especially for home use. I currently use the Olight SR Baton II but it is no where near the lumen count of the P23i especially when walking my dogs at night right next to a woody area were deer and other animals rome.
I carried the Olight Warrior Mini 2 for several months. Great light even with its few flaws. Since I got the 23i, I canNOT go back to the Mini 2. The 23i puts the Mini 2 to shame. Of course, the 23i is larger and heavier but I find it is WELL worth it.
Nitecore is WAY better than Olight in so many ways.
@@JohnDoe-zg6fn to me they are both good lights and have their points.
@@JohnDoe-zg6fn Yeah, that's the reason why I want to switch to Nitecore..
I work in maintenance and carry lights all day this would be perfect for my usage
Awesome light!
does the tactical ring works with this?
Hi ! Is it normal for the tail cap (or the tube itself) to be hard to screw in and need some force or pressure to screw it back and feel something is grinding between the battery and the tail cap ... or is it the threads?
What a great light. I will buy it. Thank you.
This would help me as nypd cop in dark winter nights . Right now I am using Fenix.
This light will be my EDC and I will share with my local law enforcement and personal protection training friends and family here in Detroit Michigan.
Best P23i review so far 👍
I just ordered the P10ix & P20ix after watching your videos. The P23i would be great for when I run early in the morning with my dogs. There are coyotes & bears in the state forest where we run. This would help me identify what animal it is and the instant strobe feature could help deter them.
I currently use 1800 lumens with the mh12se, so 3000 lumens is just a massive flex with this torch. I'd love to win this giveaway to have a dedicated torch in my fire kit.
what is the best lighter for medics / medical examination / doctors etc ❓
Nitecore MT06 MD, Speras M10 plus
@@NitecoreSGthank you for the answer. I've searched your channel, and you have being describing it
The solid focused beam is better for putting it in mirrors when walking up on cars during stops.
Does this one fit in the P20iX holster?
I am still student and working on a farm. I have really long way to school, so this flashlight would be really useful in situations when something unexpected happen or during traveling. Also on the farm when some Animal run Away and you need to fond them 😃 I am actually using armytek prime C2 pro
Which Nitecore Models can use Molicel or LG generic 21700 cell?
I always work night shifts with very low light conditions, this Nitecore P23i would be perfect for me.
does it takes the knew 21700 batteries (6000 mha, 5300 mha?) from nitecore?
Will there be a p13i or a p10 version?
Do strobe cause problems to your flashlight? also how long this flashlight can run in turbo mode before stepdown ?
The p23i steps down from 3k lumens to 1800lumens after approx 30seconds.The nice thing is that it stays on 1800lumens until the battery runs out, around 2h30min on 1800lumens,good performance.
Is it any reason why Nitecore does not provide proximity sensor (to dim the light) to this P23i model?
They didn’t have the tech yet at this point. It only appeared later on in the mh12 pro
It is perfect for my backpacking adventures!
