@29:38 The Olight Baton 4 Premium. I liked it so much (along with the case), that I put one in each of our cars and truck, along with a 1' usb-c cable. Turns out, my wife has used it twice and is now an advocate - including once where she ran her iPhone down to about 2% and was able to use the case and cable to charge her phone a bit. Not the best for EDC, but for car emergency use - you can't beat it.
Holy cow, what a collection. Appreciate the time spent on this review! Shocked i didnt see the old surefire sidekick in the keychain section though. Still carry to this day, 8 years going strong!
I played usher at the Air and Space Museum yesterday after a planetarium light failure with my RovyVon that I bought on MaxLvl's recommendation. This is a dream scenario for an EDC guy.
I appreciate the video. I admit I’m a streamlight fanboy but I’ve used them for over 20 years in very demanding environments. I once was forced to use one to chip out ice from a locked up wheel well in -30 degree weather and I still use that light every now and then till this day. I stick to primary battery lights as well because I am constantly using my light and can’t afford down time for recharging but I see the use. I agree the microstream usb is pretty bad and almost never use mine. Thanks for the vid!
Just ordered the fenix ld02 because of this video. Thank you! I got it for 26 and some change using a 10% discount. Gotta love them nice warm emitters!
Baton Turbo needs to go to the top row i'd say, picked one up and for its size its AMAZING..... literal perfection for its size and class.. they nailed it.. i also own a warrior X4 and Seeker Pro 4, Baton 4 etc etc... but the Turbo goes in my pocket every time..
im an Olight guy mainly but the Wuben E7 has impressed me, grabbed it at $23 last week and its seriously small and pocketable.. decent runtime and output, and looks quite sci-fi movie design, very happy with it!
I'm looking at the Wuben L1 Dual as a do-all EDC/Large Flashlight. I especially like the choice of color-friendly Nichia and full-blast LEDs. But that Olight Arkfeld Ultra looks pretty good. Thanks again. 😊
Technically the warrior x4 has another two modes. If you turn on the flashlight and unscrew the cap and screw it back on, it will change the interface where half press is in between the high and low mode and a full press is strobe mode.
Great video and collection, glad to see the RovyVon lights I own come in on the top! I’m waiting on my Arkfeld Ultra to come in and glad to see where it ranked as well!
I can’t believe I didn’t see a lumintop frog! Great video man and I 100 percent agree I would love to see an OLIGHT Arkfeld ultra MINI! the original Arkfelds were a great size as well.

I understand some people hate it but in my experience its an imperceptible amount of additional drain. Also thanks hugely for all the links. I know that took some time and I appreciate your time and effort for that. I've been passively intrested in reylight mini pineapple for awhile but based on your recommendation ive got my eyes on an anodized beauty that i think im going to get sometime in the near future!
Great collection! I agree with almost everything, even with trying to avoid flashlights with weird or proprietary connections. BUT, Skilhunt for instance make great flashlights, and if you loose the connector, you can always charge the battery in a standard charger. It's just a flashlight without USB-C (which might sound bad but there are no rubber caps either). I wouldn't discard such a great brand because of this. Imalent on the other hand has some flashlights like the LD70 with a weird connector and you cannot open the flashlight to charge the battery outside.
Yeah, some of the picks here seemed rather arbitrary. Proprietary magnetic charging is a deal breaker even when the light could take anything from regular 1,2-1,5V AA batteries to 14500s with a built-in usb-c charging in the battery itself, but built-in non-replaceable batteries are fine? Except then there's stuff like the Arkfeld with both non-replaceable battery AND completely proprietary charging, and that is not only passable but gets the highest possible ranking too? And no regard for the quality of drivers in general and regulated outputs etc? Don't get me wrong, I absolutely understand personal taste is personal taste and sometimes it's just impossible to put on paper why something works for you and something else doesn't. I still really like videos like this, even if they can sometimes get a little confusing. :D
On the coast slayer, one button is for a pre saved mode and the other cycles through modes so you can save the high setting. Just have to read the instructions.
I’m sad the MH12 Pro didn’t place higher . That said, I absolutely love my warrior mini 3. It works so well that it’s hard to justify needing anything else. It is just phenomenal

Olight Arkfeld pro and Warrior mini 3 will always be my edc, something about them just makes them perfect to me. If/when the Arkfeld Ultra gos on sale again I'll probably grab one of them. I ended up getting the loop SK03 and while it is cool I don't think it's anything special. I will give it one thing however, it is far easier to give to someone and they will almost always be able to use both functions without instructions. This was a great review. You must love collecting lights! I can see the passion for it. I have two lights now and understand the feeling. Researching for a third led me to this video. I hope one day you have as large a collection of mega lights as you do with the rest! Love to get your thoughts on stuff like the nitecore tm20k or tm12k, or something crazy like the acebeam w50. I was given a Klarus E3. Wonder what your thoughts are on that?
Best happy with your choice boss. It such a tough call. But if you don't buy twice and enjoy once you'll be at piece and save money. You made a good call
You are wrong about the GT Nano, You do not need anything else to charge the batteries. You can put them in any good charger, especially with the 10440. I do it all of the time. Nothing personal, just gotta call you out on the fact that you literally put flashlights into your higher tier that can only be charged using a proprietary charger into your higher tiers. Again nothing personal just gotta call it when I see it. And if you want a smaller 18650 light that will maintain 2000 lumens output check out the Wurkkos FC12. It may be the best budget flashlight you can get to be honest. And it has a USB C port as I can see how much you like having those on your lights lol. It also has a great beam. And It has also been fully torture-tested and it truly can withstand more then you could ever throw at it.
just curious, why don’t you own any Emisar or Fireflylite? I don’t know if you ever talked about this in some other videos, but not seeing any of those in that collection was kinda strange since I think that at some point you’ll end up owning at least one of those. Lately Fireflylite is making great products, they’ve some defects as someone reported some issues, but I’ve got a perfectly functioning Stellar X4 which I find to be the perfect EDC substitute to the Seeker 4 Pro (too big to carry in my pocket daily), even replacing my Baton 4 since I prefer warmer tints and high CRI in my usage scenario. Having only the Seeker as a 21700 example I found the Stellar amazingly compact, for a 21700.
@@Dayzthoseweres I guess I’ve missed that, but you’re right, even if I think that FFL lately is making lights that are greatly usable in everyday scenarios
I have a question about the wurkkos fc12 when I bought it I maybe had it for about 2-3 months hardly used it I charged it max left it in my car used it re charged it and it didn’t work anymore
it does happen sometimes to me too, mainly after i use the buttons alot in a short period of time, it just stops reacting to anything. I need to remove batery for a minute or two, than it is fine again.
Great video really helps someone understand where they might want to spend their money. Just a thought since you have the Olight mini 3 in best ATM, you should do a side by side of the Olight Warrior 3 mini vs the Sofrin Sp31 v3. I’ve got both and I actually think the Sofrin is the better light. Brightness is nearly identical at turbo, I think the beam profile is better, I prefer it’s moon mode, doesn’t get as hot as fast, doesn’t step down as quickly, and has usb c charging. I’d be very interested to see your take on it.
@@maxlvledc sp31 v3 is only a little longer maybe 5-6mm. All other dimensions are pretty much the same. TIR lens for both and both are regulated. Olight could be argued it has a better ui, but I find the simplicity of the Sofrin kind of nice.
They just had a sale in OCT week of the 14th. I picked up a baton pro for $41.92 and a seeker 4 for $47.06. The seeker proceeds went to hurricane charity. Then they threw in one the little 13E eos lights free.
I'm looking for something more powerful than the RovyVon A28 but I just can't bear the thought of losing the side lights now that I use them daily. Also the A28 is the perfect size for fidgeting with the key ring.
You got the UI functionality wrong on the Coast Slayer which I happen to like and was rated high on the TTC. You can turn it off without having to cycle through the modes. You just need to wait like some other flashlights before you press the button again.
don't like the Sofirn IF23 in theory it's really good but im struggling to find usb-c cables that fit into the nook, the flashlight is too heavy for the magnet and also to heavy to carry around on a shirt because it will fold in. But the biggest downside is that it keeps turning on in my pocket and it's really powerfull. It melted the pouch for my hearing protection and i had to take it out off my pocket because there was smoke coming out off my pants
Hello I saw all you review, I am a TH-cam too in Chile, and I work a lot with flashlight and I have 2 questions for you. 1-. Why don’t you have head lamp in your list and 2-. Why you don’t have to much Fenix in your list? What you think about it? Best regards from Chile
Very good list i agree with most of it. Baton 3 pro is absolutely top tier though. Warrior mini 3 is great if you never work with metal shavings or need to actually use the magnet. But if you want flood light/magnet/durability baton 3 pro is a no brainer. Also thrunite t1 pro should be right next to warrior mini 3. Anything with a proximity sensor should be thrown in the garbage. I've never tried the baton 3 pro Max maybe it outclasses baton 3 pro idk. If nextorch made ta30c with ultra low and got rid of strobe on rotary switch, half press medium full press turbo it would be absolutely perfect.
What is the reasoning for the shiny blue on a lot of different brands bezels. I thought it was an O-light thing but I see it’s common on others as well.
I love the baton 4, hate the pocket clip, I like my emitter pointing down so I have to use the part of the clip that’s for the bill of a hat and it’s a pain the ass getting it in my pocket
i3t isn't in the same league as the i3t2. If the i5r isn't passable, the i3t isn't either. I'm surprised you put the old i3t at the top and the high cri i5r at the bottom
There is one reason to buy the Baton 3 pro. It comes in purple. My nitecore SRT7GT is an excellent backup light at work when someone else requires my Arkfeld Pro. The standby position on the ring is a godsend for when the button gets bumped on. Didn't see the Sofirn IF24 or the newish Olight Prowess?
It’s funny 🤔, I’m sitting here watching this great 1-hour video about flashlights (super entertaining and informative as always! 👍), but I still can’t find something that matches my needs. I’m currently using the Wurkkos FC11 with 1,300 lumens, about 144 meters of range, and a color temperature around 4,000K with a CRI of 90. The size is perfect for the pocket, the waterproofing (IPX-7) is good, and I love that you can swap out the battery 🔋. BUT I really wish it had a more focused beam - somewhere around 56,000 cd for a longer throw, but keeping the 1,300 lumens. I wouldn’t mind more lumens, but the beam pattern is the priority. I’d also prefer longer battery life over more brightness, as 1,300 lumens is enough for me. Also, I’d love an improved button and handling of the UI. A rotating head would be nice for work situations too, but that’s secondary. Any recommendations that fit these specs?❤
@@maxlvledc Thank you for taking the time to help me. I’ll make sure to check out the flashlight. Your video always gives a great overview, saves me a lot of time, and helps me make better decisions. I really appreciate everything you do.
I just ordered the fc11c the other day ($21 with a battery on wurkkos' site). I was looking to do the opposite as you. I currently carry a pokelit most days and have a Fenix tk16 v2 that I got as a gift a couple years ago. The tk16 is a monster and while a little chunky, does work in a pocket. And the tail cap button on the pokelit is gross feeling, great light though. I wanted something "in-between". Small enough to carry everyday and sort of a pleasing, usable light for my daily situations. I guess just a "boring" every day light. So I landed on the fc11c. Plus, if I need a throwy light, the Fenix is really something special to have in your pocket.
@@robertmorano2372 Thank you so much! It’s funny, the more you dive into the details, the more specific your requirements become, and it gets harder to find something that meets them. There are thousands of great flashlights, but somehow you end up almost blinded by all the options.
@@pallepirat I know what you mean. I'll be intrigued by a certain feature just because it sounds cool. Then go "wait a minute, I never had a use for that in 42 years of living". Learning experience😂 stay focused.
I don't buy olight for 1 reason the proprietary magnetic charging weltool is my favorite right now they make great lights built like tanks surefire quality, reliability an performance but at a reasonable price
I am a home inspector. Always looking under sinks, attics and crawlspaces. Gotta have the clip that will go on a hat bill. What light do you recommend? Wanna sell one you're getting rid of? Good video as always.
No ThruNite Ti2 in your keychain ranking? It's my favourite by far. It uses a single AAA which lasts pretty much forever and means you can stash some more if you're going somewhere with minimal electricity for a few days. Also the brightest I've personally tried so far (though I hear the nitecore are brighter).
@@maxlvledc Interesting, I haven't tried the edc01 because it was slightly bigger and every mm counts on a keychain, but I might have to get one to give it a chance if your experience is that's it's decently better. Cheers for the reply! Edit: changed recently to decently, silly autocorrect
@@maxlvledc No diffuser for the ti, I've never really thought I'd need a diffuser, I'll give it a go with and without, you never know, it might suprise me!
The FC12 is an absolutely fantastic light, but it has a bug: when in low mode sometimes it doesn't turn on and needs to be reset by pressing the side switch for 5 seconds. (I personally experienced this bug). Whis they fixed it since it has been known for a while Anyway, great video
All true... sometimes you can also reset by pressing 5 times. Otherwise, battery removal works every time. But 18350 tube and warrior mini clip still makes this one of my favorite thrower lights to carry.
@@brandonlee8582 while I still prefer the FC12 I think the convoy s6 (which I have) is a good choice for a small thrower. The UI isn't as good as the FC12, but it's lighter and even cheaper.
usb ports built into the light are an issue. Ports fail. It's better to have a port on the battery or some external accessory that is not the light itself.
I gotta disagree with the Olight Baton 3 Pro not being as good as the 3 Pro Max. It's smaller, lighter, has the timer feature. The Pro Max only has 5200CD where the Pro has over 7000CD. I think that's enough to make it a better carry.
2 things for me: must have tail switch, and pressing that tail switch MUST activate either turbo or strobe (being over 10,000CD and 1000Lm is also a plus)
@@maxlvledc What is the purpose of that, in particular? Is tactical code for self defense blinding weapon? That seems to be the implication but I've never seen it states explicitly.
@@LarryGarfieldCrell The definition of the word tactical refers to military focused gear, therefore the flashlights must be easier to access on the Turbo settings and not have any complicated UI to avoid turning the light on lower settings by accident. Oxford definition of the word Tactial: "relating to or constituting actions carefully planned to gain a specific military end".
You started with the best keychain flashlight ever. No modes, no accidental activation in the pocket, wallet or purse (in my mom's case). IMini2 is probably the only flashlight that win with no doubt its category. Edit: in my country most people live in apartments buildings, so not being waterproof does not matter at all for a keychain light. And houses frontdoors always have eaves.
@@maxlvledc I think they have two 14500 batteries, and you have to select the one with USB-C when you order it. Either way cool to see such a big collection of lights
@@xtanwolff yeah the proprietary charging is terrible but literally every other apsect of the light is phenomenal, and you don't have to use the charging... you can use a usb-c 14500...
Can't believe you didn't rate the Wurkkos HD11 higher... If we're talkin versatility, there's not much quality competition (yet)... I have the old nitecore MT21C, the Wuben L1, and Arkfeld Flex. All great swivel head work lights... but all the features of the HD11 just raises the bar IMO.
Have you dabbled in LEP (laser excited phosphor)lights, they are throwers that can reach up to 3 to 4 miles . theres a walmart sold brand named kodiak that has a large 15,000 lumen led light that has a 10,000 mah power bank using dual 26650 li-ion cells and is type c for 70.00. its a legit 15000 in turbo and 10,000 in normal for an hour. they also have a LED thrower hilariously named the :"almost a mile flashlight that has type c and i was shocked that it wasnt an LEP type light.
This video is so underrated thank you for the video. This helps alot
isn't it a little early to be under-rated? lols! Thanks!
just curious, why don’t you own any Emisar or Fireflylite?
Well there was a noctigon light in here but yea emisar is n a category of its own in my personal opinion
@@Dayzthoseweres I guess I’ve missed that, but you’re right, even if I think that FFL lately is making lights that are greatly usable in everyday scenarios
@ Ive never personally owned one but they look cool
I have a question about the wurkkos fc12 when I bought it I maybe had it for about 2-3 months hardly used it I charged it max left it in my car used it re charged it and it didn’t work anymore
huh, seems like a dud. contact wurkkos for replacement imo.
it does happen sometimes to me too, mainly after i use the buttons alot in a short period of time, it just stops reacting to anything. I need to remove batery for a minute or two, than it is fine again.
Great video. I also would be interested in seeing a comparison with wuben flash lights.
But you can still order the warrior mini 2 from olight, how is it discontinued?
Great video really helps someone understand where they might want to spend their money.
Just a thought since you have the Olight mini 3 in best ATM, you should do a side by side of the Olight Warrior 3 mini vs the Sofrin Sp31 v3. I’ve got both and I actually think the Sofrin is the better light. Brightness is nearly identical at turbo, I think the beam profile is better, I prefer it’s moon mode, doesn’t get as hot as fast, doesn’t step down as quickly, and has usb c charging. I’d be very interested to see your take on it.
oh??? and size comparison? im interested
Then they threw in one the little 13E eos lights free.
please review and category edc/tactical flashlight like p23i, pd35r pro and other brand with same category. thanks
I'm looking for something more powerful than the RovyVon A28 but I just can't bear the thought of losing the side lights now that I use them daily. Also the A28 is the perfect size for fidgeting with the key ring.
Hello! Great video! I would recommend you to take a look and review the Fenix E03R V2.0. great little light!
Great video. I have some of these, why wasn’t the OLIGHT Marauder Mini part of this video, unless you don’t own one.
Hello
I saw all you review, I am a TH-cam too in Chile, and I work a lot with flashlight and I have 2 questions for you. 1-. Why don’t you have head lamp in your list and 2-. Why you don’t have to much Fenix in your list? What you think about it?
Best regards from Chile
or any LEP flashlights, which can go miles
Just got a sofirn F1 carrying for a few days lovjng it
Your suggestion for a "Left in the car's glove box" flashlight?
This is overwhelming. Do you have a top ten vid?
What is the reasoning for the shiny blue on a lot of different brands bezels. I thought it was an O-light thing but I see it’s common on others as well.
No idea
Can you do one of these with plier based multitools
thank you for putting this together!
Didn't see the Sofirn IF24 or the newish Olight Prowess?
ok fair lol
I couldn't find the IF24 for some reason and the Prowess was given to a family member.
@maxlvledc Most olights seem to be perfect gifts for friends and family. So much variety, novelty, and practicality.
No Manker, Wuben and Trustfire Mini x3?
The FC12 has an SFT40 with 2000LM and over 25,000CD, try that one.
Just in time for a late night work session
Do you like any of the larger/18650/21700 Streamlights or anything from Klarus?
Nope, none of them stack up to competition
Heard good thing about the new nitecore Edc29 be interested see what you think on that ?
I watched a few reviews..I'm not a fan of what they did with the clip..and it looks huge! But performance looks wild.
Great video. Thanks
curious about your battery collection 🤔
I don't buy olight for 1 reason the proprietary magnetic charging weltool is my favorite right now they make great lights built like tanks surefire quality, reliability an performance but at a reasonable price
I am a home inspector. Always looking under sinks, attics and crawlspaces. Gotta have the clip that will go on a hat bill. What light do you recommend? Wanna sell one you're getting rid of? Good video as always.
Will be selling a bunch this Friday on whatnot. Link below
check out some Olight lights
Awesome comprehensive video.
Just found your channel. Automatic subscribe.
I think weltool makes a shrouded tail switch option for the T2.
I'll look into it!
30:25 - I was just going to comment that. Thank you.
no wurkkos DL02??
No ThruNite Ti2 in your keychain ranking? It's my favourite by far.
It uses a single AAA which lasts pretty much forever and means you can stash some more if you're going somewhere with minimal electricity for a few days.
Also the brightest I've personally tried so far (though I hear the nitecore are brighter).
It had some issue, I don't own any more and I think edc01 from Lumintop is better imo
@@ALifeOfWine I like how it also comes with a difuser. Does the Ti come with one?
@@maxlvledc No diffuser for the ti, I've never really thought I'd need a diffuser, I'll give it a go with and without, you never know, it might suprise me!
wow 😂 , i have 6 headlights for fishing n i start thinking am not ok lately.
The FC12 is an absolutely fantastic light, but it has a bug: when in low mode sometimes it doesn't turn on and needs to be reset by pressing the side switch for 5 seconds. (I personally experienced this bug).
Whis they fixed it since it has been known for a while
Anyway, great video
All true... sometimes you can also reset by pressing 5 times.
I'll ask them, So far my newer updated one hasn't had the issue.
@@maxlvledc thanks a lot! Unfortunately the issue is with the updated version
Mine didn't last 6 months. Garbage. Just get the tn12 pro don't bother with the fc12
Fantastic, thank you !
usb ports built into the light are an issue. Ports fail. It's better to have a port on the battery or some external accessory that is not the light itself.
Love my Mt2a Pro. Great collection.
42:56 after you reviewed the Wurkkos HD11, you skipped a flashlight.
Can we get a TOP GEAR Jeremy Clarkson Style Leaderboard with metrics IP waterproof rating, lumens, throw, price and runtime for flashlights?
Great video!!
shit, i thought i had a problem with just 3 flashlights...
I gotta disagree with the Olight Baton 3 Pro not being as good as the 3 Pro Max. It's smaller, lighter, has the timer feature. The Pro Max only has 5200CD where the Pro has over 7000CD.
I think that's enough to make it a better carry.
but the WM3 is WAAAAAY better than baton pro always.
putting the acebeam h16 above the skilhunt m150 is criminal haha
also the Manker E05II is highly underrated if you know a bit about the drivers in these lights...
Oh, I rate it high. It's a slick light.
What qualifies a light as "tactical"? Is there really a definition, or is it just "black and scary"?
Usually the definition involves a rear switch that activates a turbo mode or strobe.
It's very very good..it was damn near perfect as a neck pendant
You lost me when you trashed the GT Nano - best tiny throwers ever! Then all the olight lovin....
When you think youtube has more than paid for those flashlights , it's not so bad
M150 only In passable… we have very different taste. Both of mine have usb-c rechargeable batteries. Nothing proprietary about them at all
wait...did it change? mine didn't come with that.
M150 in passable is crazy
@@maxlvledc I think they have two 14500 batteries, and you have to select the one with USB-C when you order it. Either way cool to see such a big collection of lights
I despice the magnetic charger location on the M150. Feels too much like a button for me.
@@xtanwolff yeah the proprietary charging is terrible but literally every other apsect of the light is phenomenal, and you don't have to use the charging... you can use a usb-c 14500...
I want to know how many of cups of coffee you consumed before filming this, very impressive!
Thanks!
Large light goes to the tried and true Streamlight stinger led
Can't believe you didn't rate the Wurkkos HD11 higher... If we're talkin versatility, there's not much quality competition (yet)... I have the old nitecore MT21C, the Wuben L1, and Arkfeld Flex. All great swivel head work lights... but all the features of the HD11 just raises the bar IMO.
I really really liked it, no doubt...but I've seen enough reviews on it that reflect QC issues to not quite bring it to the top.
You left out the magnet on the O-clip.
I'm sure everyone calls the Pokelit the wrong name as I am sure it is supposed to be said in a way like pocket light pok'e'lite
I see a disturbing lack of Fenix lights in Large EDC!
Have you dabbled in LEP (laser excited phosphor)lights, they are throwers that can reach up to 3 to 4 miles . theres a walmart sold brand named kodiak that has a large
15,000 lumen led light that has a 10,000 mah power bank using dual 26650 li-ion cells and is type c for 70.00. its a legit 15000 in turbo and 10,000 in normal for an hour. they also have a LED thrower hilariously named the :"almost a mile flashlight that has type c and i was shocked that it wasnt an LEP type light. ONLY 40.00. tHEY SOUND LIKE YOUR TYPICAL AMAZON RIP OFFS BUT THEY'RE LEGIT , and are the best bang for the buck.
