To all reading this for your own sake clean and re-pack the Hecules 20v cordless buffer with a good gear grease like Lucas Red n Tacky grease. I checked mine as soon as a bought it and there was only a chuck yes a harden chuck under the motor pivot gear only... When I cleaned and repacked the gear head properly with the Lucas Red n Tacky grease the high pitched whine was gone, vibration gone, and the motor ran cool to the touch...The stock gear grease is garbage!!!
Thank you for this tip. I just picked this tool up a few weeks ago but have not had the time to use it yet. I know what I'm going to do now before I use it. Thank you
Good tip, even the more expensive brands still use the same cheap yellow grease they use in all of the manufacturing across China. I'm going to definitely do this to several of my tools. Appreciate the tip and a good wake-up call!
When I started detailing in 2003 the DA wasn’t really around. We did everything from start to finish with a rotary. Different pads, different compounds/polishes and different techniques.
The Hercules became my go to rotary i have a 8ah and 5ah batteries between the two i can run it non stop i have 100+ hours on mine with no issues still makes the noise but runs like a charm it ran a 8 in double sided wool pad yesterday for about 9 hours i hope they release a da lol ive switched all my Milwaukee stuff out for hercules because the batterys last and are affordable lol
I’m just starting to buy Hercules battery operated tools. The battery seams solid. My Milwaukee batteries are starting to fail so I’m trying the Herc. I just got the portable bandsaw a few days ago .
Yea I’ve been super impressed with the batteries i have a 3/8 impact, drill , impact driver, blower, and the rotary polisher and have been happy with all of em
I got the deal in the beginning of this month it was two battery’s and a charger and the tool for $140. I could’ve waited for the one battery deal instead but thought I could use the extra battery, I did a 2 step on my car with the diy gold Standard system and only ended up using 1 1/2 bars on the battery. I’m thinking about changing the grease it’s not loud but towards the end I heard a little ring/high pitch. Also idk if you mention that the Hercules comes with a 5 year warranty and the batteries have a 3 year warranty chargers too
Quick tip Milwaukee and Hercules use the same batteries, Samsung 21700s, just pick up a $15 adapter and never worry about paying the over inflated price for batteries again.
Dude!!!! The DIY Red Jeweling pad is money!!!! It finishes so nice. Recently I've been using it to finish and get rid of any polishing smearing/extra product. I'm a milwaukee guy so I'm looking to pick up their rotary
I know you pretty much cover detailing products, but I was looking at their package deals for heat guns, die grinders, drills.. I’m surprised more people don’t make more videos on the Hercules brand.. love the brand, love the customer service.
i bought this a couple weeks ago, to go polish a boat... he cancelled but the deal was 2 5 amp batteries and charger for 150 and get a free tool. went full send with their yellow buffing pad on a charger today (first time) and it came out amazing.
Harbor Freight also has the Bauer 6 in. Long-Throw Random Orbit DA Polisher on sale right now for $74.99 thru March 24th with a coupon on their website.
Nice video! I purchased the Milwaukee Polisher with 15 mm throw in April 2024. I love it with the Walmart Platinum pads. My only dislike is the grinding noise when it stops rotating. Very loud!
Was in Lowe’s 6 months ago with my wife picking up some paint supplies and I always take a walk down The tools section for Any sales. Randomly found the dewalt DA polisher for $82. Just one sitting there and showed the normal price at $329, wife didn’t even blink and eye, which is unlike her. I had just gotten done doing a full paint correction on my car a month earlier, on a cheap Amazon corded unit (which worked great), so havent had time to even use it yet.
I owe my detailing addiction to you and the guys over at DIY Detail. 😂 Their gold standard sprayable polish and gold standard waffle pad are amazing. Looking forward to trying the jeweling pad.
I learned to use a rotorary about 35 years ago. In those days, thats all there was. Other than "elbow grease". It's been just in the past 2 years, since I've been watching you, that I started learning to use the DA type buffers. I'm more comfortable with it but I'm learning which pads to use. I've always used a wool pad.
Great video. But have been waiting for 6 months now for HF to run this add again. Not sure if it is a regional thing, but the only tool not listed in the current buy batter get free tool deals is the polisher! UGH.
Another great video from Josh keep up the good work. I was wondering if you could do a review on some of Alchemist's products specifically their intense foam shampoo
I took that deal when it came out. The only complaint was the pad seized on the arbor and I couldn't get it off. Took it back and they gave me another one. There is no provision to put a wrench on the pad.
With proper technique Ivan is absolutely right. You can finish better and with more gloss and clarity with a rotary, but it’s very technique dependent. To “jewel” the paint (3rd step) you use a rotary at the slowest speed with zero pressure, and something really fine like a black fine foam finishing pad from lake country and a polish with zero abrasives like a jeweling cream or Rupes ultra fine polish in the white bottle. Just takes a little practice but you probably knew all this lol Hope you’re having a great day brother and thanks for the content!
Good video Josh. A few thoughts . Don't care for the flex for 1 reason. The vents seem to be dispensing heat toward the car . Don't make sense. With that said I have been running a rotory for 40 yrs . I have every da that maxshine makes but find myself keep going back to the rotory. I think it just finishes better .
Hi, i live in the uk and cant get hold of these US deals on rotary polishers, what are yr thoughts on the maxshine or shinemate rotarys, these are available in the uk , thanks
I bet if you rip apart and upgrade the grease, that Hercules would be much smoother/cooler.... GREAT VALUE!!! Jeweling is always speed 1 from 400-600rpm accordong to Yvan if I am correct. I have found that while you can finish with rotary, i have not had success with all paints.
A rotary buffs and polishes the best. A dual action does too but if you compare both results on paint, rotary will look better. But you do have to be a little more skilled with rotary than with DA
The Hercules has a brake (that's what you're hearing)...the Flex does not, it would cost extra...more like $700.00 . Apples to very expensive oranges (ridiculously over priced)
I’ve been watching various videos about polishers. I’ve come to the conclusion that with arthritis in both hands, a polisher is not in my future. The vibration would be very hard to take.
Man do more Hercules tools…. Period. Everything is so expensive right now.. pretty sure people would rather pay $50 to $100 on a polisher than almost $700 for a unit and 2 batteries.

It looks like they removed the rotary from the list, I knew it wasn’t going to last, too many people choosing it over everything else, no one was buying it.

Where do u get the Grease?
I'm waiting for them to come out with the cordless DA
Rotary is where it’s at. Serious results.
orbital sanders don't generate as much heat as DA's
@@wildbill6976 lol
Seriously that would've been my first thing to make cordless compared to the rotary.
The noise you are hearing after you pull the trigger is the brake to make it stop quickly.

I just got the portable bandsaw from HF, it’s my first Hercules tool. The DIY jeweling pad is really good.
Just grabbed one of these combo deals at my local HF! Thanks again, Josh!

That noise at the end is the brakes I don't think grease will fix it but it stops the buffer

Quick tip Milwaukee and Hercules use the same batteries, Samsung 21700s, just pick up a $15 adapter and never worry about paying the over inflated price for batteries again.

Hercules is Harbor Freight top of the line. Like you stated if you’re not a professional the Hercules is the way to go!
This deal happen March 5th during there parking lot sale. I actually missed out. It was 2 battery’s and charger and you get a free tool!
Nice video Josh! Can’t beat that price if ur needing some cordless tools!
Correct me if I’m wrong but once you put the polishing pad on, that will add clearance between the battery and the vehicle won’t it?
Not much. It would still be very easy to bump the paint with the battery on large panels.
On the run time test, shouldn't the Hercules (2400 RPM max) have been run slower to equal the Flex's max RPMs (1450 RPM)?
Isn't it bad for the flex to be blowing the hot air straight down onto the paint?
So im thinking about getting this to yse on my 98 Mercury Grand Marquis, what dind of product do i buy? Is there a one step cleaner/wax i can use?
How the heck did you guys get the polisher in my area the polisher isn’t available as one of the free tools

Bro, I'm gonna keep asking on all the videos. How are you so amped up? Get so much energy?
It's his job.
You feel entitled to an answer? Weird.
Most rotaries will build more heat at lower speeds, because the motor isn’t as efficient at cooling itself.
What's more important, a great polish with a cheap pad or a great pad with a cheap polish
If you dont want (or already own) the polisher, buy the 5ah battery and charger for $99 and take the 8ah battery ($99 value) as your "free tool"
Good idea!!
