Those tape-measures, now i don't know if it's the same in USA, but in EU we have 3 classes. Class 1 is for professional use, max allowed divination from true, on 5m (16,4 feet) is 0,6mm (0,023 inch), tho they'll often cost 5-8x as much as the cheap 5€ ones

For anyone looking at using the spring clamps, quick tip: they can be a pain to grip 2 smaller pieces without them shifting in or out as the pressure settles. Turn them sideways or more parallel to the workpiece and they're way easier to keep straight.

I was in Home Depot a while back and I decided I would see how accurate some of their cheap squares were. So I grabbed 2 aluminum speed squares and put the flanged sides down and put them against each other, no daylight. I did the same with a few others, same result. I grabbed some different kind of squares and the same result. These were around $8.00. I'm sure Peckers equivalent would be ten times that. I would rather save the $65 and take my wife to dinner.

Your time stamp method is perfect.
I like that there’s two ways. The comments or the link in description (preferred for me).
I literally just pause the video at a tool I like. Click the link in your description and it’s super easy to find.
I recommend you keep this in time-stamp order as it is now. Anything else would make it difficult

I know that most serious woodworkers use Grizzly products. They are located in Springfield MO, so you could visit their shop fairly easily. Their customer support is the best in the industry.

On the woodpecker rule, the reason the stop block is not aluminum, or any type of metal is that it would mark up the ruler! 😀 PS stop makin me wanna buy more stuff lol!

I LOVED this video! This is what us new woodworkers need! Sage unbiased overviews of great tools so we know what to get, why, and how to use it. I VEHEMENTLY disagree with Spills51 on his comment about “pushing tools”. WE NEED TOOLS! And tools are seldom covered in such depth, with such expertise, and so concisely and quickly: yes, it’s a fire hose, but I don’t want a whole video on just one tool: life is too short. You could make a whole separate channel on just covering tools. And perhaps this an idea we can take away from Spills51’s comment. He obviously has all the tools he needs, so bravo for him. In deference to his comment, perhaps we do need a separate channel on projects and techniques. I don’t disagree with that in principle. SO, if we want to keep just one channel (often needed for critical mass), the maybe have three different video “shows” one for each gender. So there can be the “Tool Review Show”, the “Tool Techniques Show”, and then the “Projects Show”, each with its own focus. This may be the closest to satisfying everyone. But for example with projects, I’m probably not going to watch many projects videos unless it’s for something that I want or am planning to build. But I’ll watch tools and techniques all day long. Other might revers this. Let each to their own.

Brother, I have followed you for years and been a huge fan. Shoot, I even tagged you in one of my builds 2 years ago, it was the entertainment center and you gave me a shout on IG. But I gotta ask…. Can you build more? Everyone is doing tool reviews, I get it. But can you get back to what you used to do? Shoot that’s why most of us OG’s are here in the first place. You prob won’t see this but I feel like this channel has gotten off track and it’s sole purpose is to ride the trending bandwagon for views and views = money. But doesn’t = quality. All love bro. You can bring a framing square back into square by tapping the corner with a ballpein hammer.if it's toed inwards, tap the inside corner slowly and check on every hit. You will stretch the metal and move the blade outward. If you're too aggressive, you may have to file the blade flat if you hit it too close to the edge. Worked in a fab shop and my boss was too cheap to buy us new ones. So we had to improvise. Tap the outside of the corner if it's out the opposite way.

I just got the Milescraft track saw guide, and I'm loving it so far. Took a little finagling to get my 5.5" Ryobi Circular Saw attached to the sled that goes on the track - and gotta be careful and specific when putting in extended batteries for the Ryobi saw as well - that aside, it was a great investment so far!

I have a made in USA Stanley carpenters square. I have had this square for over 20 years. I have cut plywood pieces that when checked with this square were perfectly square on all four corners. If I bought a $300 square would it do anything to make these pieces more square than what they actually are?

Tape measures are more for construction where you can be a 16th to an 8th off and it's no big deal. I always used rulers for shop work. If I'm measuring more than a yard stick,I'll use a tape. But if all your measurements are under 30 inches, use a ruler. It's less clunky and more accurate. If you are doing shop work have a few rulers or different lengths.

Watch out for the remote power switch from harbor freight. #4 in your second list I think. There are two types. One is momentary contact. The other is not! One you click it on and it stays on until you click it again. I wanted / needed a dead man switch for lathe work so the tool stops the moment I remove my foot.😊Great job with the video😊

I thought it was some sort of guard that screwed on to a blade to cover the edge. I couldn't find any saw or knife that it looked like it fitted, so I threw it in the metal scrap bin. The amount of times I've used my big Square and had it slip while I'm marking out a job........ is countless!!!! Boy, am I feeling like a real dummy right now. 🤥
