    Can we appreciate the fact that, canonically, the Allied Commander and the Proselyte are fighting each other...
    And that the Proselyte is using a, quite frankly, Player favorite strategy of mass aerial assault?
    And vice versa in the Epsilon version of this mission, where the Allied Commander is using massed Thor Gunships?

    Here's how I did it, in Normal dificulty. This required several saves and attempts.
    After the tunnel sequence and the introductory bit, I sent the Engine to my base. Immediatelly after taking control I rallied up Tanya, Siegfried, all chrono prisons and available charons to the top right base to counter the offensive and prevent the top most base from being built. Then I used the charons to snipe Rahn, while Tanya and Siegfried started dismantled the base and the prisons grabbed some AA for support. Meanwhile I spammed war factories and zephyrs, about 20 of the latter. Soon after the top right base began to accumulate magnetrons and masterminds. I killed the magnetrons with a lionheart strike, but grabbed as many masterminds as I could with the prisons.
    As soon as I could then I chono'd the prisons full of masterminds, as well as a few aeroblaze I had around to the bottom left to catch the Soviet attack. I had to use glaciar screen plus backwarp to keep them alive and tanking. I also had some nearby blizzards and thors protecting the WCD at that base, and had to shield it to protect it from kirovs. The important bit of this attack is to grab as many V3s as you can, about 4 would be enough, I got 7.
    By that point I began to prepare for Libra. Built about 7 battle tortoises full of marines and two more charons. When Libra appeared I teleported the nine near her position, under the cover of allied defenses. The charons force her to do her magnetic wave attack, stopping her from targeting your units directly. Then the battle tortoises chrono boosted and screened were able to take her down the first time.
    I don't quite recall if at that point the dominators were coming close to firing. The light pink one I killed with some Athenas I had around that I managed to teleport in time. The top right one is better to snipe with your own WCD plus some extra powers. The zephyrs were already active too, sniping stuff with zephyrobot and target painter. The V3s from the Soviets began crippling the bottom purple base and eventually reached the dominator there. The same V3s where latter sent to take out the defenses around my bottom base and kill some of the airfields at the light pink base, and latter on crippled the central pink base.
    In the middle of all this Libra appeared a second time and went straight to my base. The Engine lifted and sniped her out, then I used its remaining weapon time to finish crippling the top right base. The final attack against the light pink base was conducted with the prisons and some prism tanks, the prisons began grabbing all the AA units around the place without alerting the Irkala, while the prisms took out any defenses nearby. Eventually when I had a decent number of oxydicers and gehenas I took the Irkala down and finished off the base, I even grabbed the SAMs with a chrono'd stallion full engies.
    To delay the loss of my top base I began amassing thors, charons, and blizards plus my masterminds and controlled soviet army and some robot tanks for detection and placed them all near the entry points of the mind controlled allied army. I held about three or four waves while I finished crippling the enemy bases and taking out the bottom right base, got a whole extra use of the WCD out of it, and sold most of the base for cash. Before finishing that section I chorno'd the V3 to the safe area.
    In the next section I had already a ton of AA in the new base, but still began to build up for the counter attack. As soon possible I teleported the V3s and some AA back out to the left of the new bottom purple base, the one with the airfields. I sniped the conyard and all production and then went straight to the conyard to the left of my base. Ocasionaly by this point the timer buged out and finished early, before the massive air attack, but I managed to finish the mission without the exploit.
    Once the chrono was ready again I did the same with the Soviet base, took out the conyard before they built the nukes and finished off their production. By the next chrono I had some aeroblaze and athenas to teleport near the beacons and managed to take them out in time. Then I simply held off against the air attacks until the timer ended.
    For the final attack I simply went around Libra to the right and time stopped when approaching the enemy defenses, easily reaching the tower.

      Literally just one Robot Tank or Attack Dog camping a Paradox Conductor, like right there beside it, woulda clutched them the fight.
      Or instead of barrelling the Engine and all of its escorts right at Libra in Stage II, have the Engine hang back and take potshots at her with the Prism Cannons, slowly inching forward while wiping out the Epsilon forces that come up to reinforce her instead of retreating all the way back to the base for a recharge.

    • @GeneGear
      @GeneGear 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jacksimpson8529 A lot of things could have clutched that fight. Had Norio and the Chrono Legion focused on delaying Libra instead of killing her, had they focused on supporting the invasion efforts and attempted to avoid her altogether, had they just tried to secure her clones in a pocket dimension...the Allies truly had a good shot at stopping Mental Omega, especially since the Soviets were successfully kicking in Yuri's teeth.
      Honestly, that feels like the weirdest thing to me: Yuri was always selfish and did everything for himself. Even if it was to keep the Soviets off Mental Omega, Mental Omega/Libra were his best defenses; him running to Antarctica and dragging the Soviets with him to the big showdown absolutely would have lead to his defeat, but it also would have been intrinsic to him as a result of him being a flawed person just like everyone else.

    • @ceu160193
      @ceu160193 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@GeneGear He wanted his design to succeed, which is why he wasn't above sacrificing his own life, if it means victory. And Moscow had it's own defenses, which were on par with ones defending Mental Omega tower. All of things that could grant Allies victory relied on information they never had - that Libra is key to Mental Omega activation, for example, rather than just another of Yuri's monsters.

    • @SoldierOfFate
      @SoldierOfFate 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@GeneGear The problem is that the Allies didn't know it was THE prime Libra that was the one destroying their forces all over Antarctica (they only learned just how fearsome she was once she showed up at the MO site). They assumed it was her clones that were responsible for the massacres, as stated when they managed to reestablish communications.
      Also, even if they were successful in destroying the Mental Omega Device and killing the actual Libra...they were inevitably doomed. The Epsilon reinforcements and all their mind controlled slaves swarming into Antarctica would eventually overwhelm them. The Soviets only won because they had immeasurable manpower while the Allies were ultimately outnumbered in every regard, with the Paradox Engine being the only thing that gave them the upper hand.

    EDITED AFTER FURTHER TESTING: By the way, some extra information out of curiosity that I have tested (semi-)safely in Casual difficulty about Phase 3 (the one with the multiple Weather Controllers).
    If you attempt to defend the Weather Controllers in Deep Charge (key word 'attempt'), consider the following:
    - The first Controller to be attacked is the one south of your base, by Libra. Normally it's completely impossible to save it, but with a Force Shield, it can survive the Omega Storm. Libra's AI is pretty much forced to attack the Weather Controller, so if you create a lot of Supressors (her Mental Blast will ignore them) she can be killed without destroying the Controller or the ConYard. If you do so, though, the scripted Barracuda strike team will target this Controller instead of the light blue one on your base. The Barracudas have drastically increased armor until they reach the Controller (as in 'concentrated fire from around 20 Aeroblazes can't shoot one down' armor) and they respawn quickly so it's virtually impossible to save the Controller. Letting it be destroyed by the Barracudas, however, gives you a small benefit that I'll explain later.
    - The second Controller to be attacked is the southern gray one, by the Soviets. Kirovs (either one or two) will constantly spawn and, much like the Barracudas, they have significantly more armor until they are next to the Controller. It requires a ton of firepower (and maybe some spare Engineers) but this CAN be saved all over Phase 3. It will be erased when you enter Phase 4, though.
    - The third Controller to be attacked is the northern gray one, again by the Soviets. It's the same as the other grey Controller, except the Kirov attacks start much later.
    - The final Controller to be attacked is the light blue one on your base. Normally, if you spend too long in Phase 3, a scripted Barracuda strike team with drastically increased armor will bomb it down to shreds, and this will also trigger the mind-controlled Allied army from off-screen to attack your base from behind. As explained before, it's practically impossible to save the Controller (feel free to capture Oxidizers to try, though...). However, if the first Controller wasn't destroyed by Libra, the Barracudas will strike it instead, and the timer will restart, doubling the amount of time you have until this fourth Controller is down.
    - Your own Controller is not given any particular attention.
    - You CAN make all the Weather Controllers reach 0 in their Deep Charge timers, but it does absolutely nothing - no Easter Egg-level text, nothing, it just stays at zero or restarts altogether.
    About the mind-controlled Allies and Soviets:
    - It seems to not be possible to stop the initial explosion that triggers the arrival of the mind-controlled Soviets. Some Demo Trucks spawn but they immediately cloak and teleport (even if you station forces where they appear, they are not stopped). You CAN intercept the arriving army (and the aforementioned Kirovs) so that the southern gray ConYard is not Chronolifted away, and prevent the Soviets from deploying an MCV. That being said, the Soviets will regularly send more MCVs, tanks and Wolfhounds in case the initial attempt failed. However, the Soviets will be free to place an MCV by the time Phase 4 begins, although they'll be so vulnerable you can actually take them out and make the next stage easier.
    - What triggers the arrival of the mind-controlled Allies is either the destruction of the light blue Weather Controller in your base, or taking the Paradox Engine to the designated location. They will send Lionhearts and a large column to take out your entire base. If it fails, it will send another, so it's virtually impossible to stop your north base from being destroyed (or your ConYard getting Chronolifted away). After that, they will concentrate on sending an MCV and building a base, and won't attack you until Phase 4. As with the Soviets, if you keep destroying their MCV, they'll start Phase 4 with only basic buildings, meaning they can be taken out to remove an enemy to make Phase 4 easier.
    About the Epsilon bases and how they enter Phase 4:
    - If you destroy the pink Epsilon ConYard (the one close to the Mental Omega Device), it will be rebuilt at the start of Phase 4. HOWEVER, if you unlock the Barrel Easter Egg and place it where the ConYard used to be, it won't be rebuilt. This will make both Phase 4 and Phase 5 easier, as while all other buildings close to the Mental Omega Device will be rebuilt if destroyed, the ones outside the platform won't... and you can destroy the rebuilt structures anyways, removing a threat from Phase 4 and drastically softening the opposition in Phase 5.
    - The Epsilon bases around the pink one won't be rebuilt in Phase 4 if destroyed, although a ConYard close to your new position will appear. With the diminished defenses, you can take them out to remove yet another enemy quickly. The Psychic Beacons will always appear, though.
    - The other Epsilon bases WON'T be rebuilt in Phase 4, so take them out if possible.
    - Your units, whether ground or air, will be teleported to your new position. However, there are certain positions in the map (such as south of where your base used to be) where your air units won't be teleported. Use them to your advantage.

    While I absolutely love the mod, some missions (like this one) reach beyond the sky levels of bullshit in terms of difficulty and sudden surprises. I'm neither even mentioning the massive basilisk ambushes, nor mindraped soviets that're destroying the lower ally base and building their own with speed of Sonic, but mostly nearly unkillable Libra that easily wipes out about 80% of your best troops before you can deal her any real damage. What was even point of making her that strong, while in Reality Check she barely survives the battle with Norio and dies by a single Charon shot? Add to that two Mind Control Beacons appearing out of damn nowhere at the Paradox Recharging phase that are 99% impossible to destroy in time with all the tons of Intruders and Thors coming at you non-stop, and all the 99999 Nukes and Dominators crushing all of your base every single minute. I savescummed like hell, but so far the only best result I got is 14 minutes until the engine recharge, I have absolutely zero idea how to make it to finish.
    Also, I don't get why all the playthroughs on youtube have three conyards at the second paradox recharging phase (the one at the hill), but I have only two?

      Allies might hold on to Point Hope (and probably, with Foehn forces.) And also, since the Mental Omega device was activated but severely damaged (with that, the global mind control waves will be intermittent and mind control will not be complete, there'll be some runaway Allied or Soviet forces somewhere resisting Epsilon's mind control while they still can.) And there are also hints that some known people within Epsilon (Rashidi or Malver, probably) that might be secretly in contact with Epsilon's enemies.

      My guess - Time Paradox. The very ability of Paradox Machine, and were supposed to be used into Mental Omega to *"seal"* it, making the time flow inside Paradox Machine's influence range stop. Which would delay MO activation for some years.
      But since Libra fried the time algorithm, they were unable to activate. But not all were lost as* the same Time Paradox will be used in Point Hope in order to cut off from the entire world and rebuild everything, forming the Foehn Revolt faction.

    • @SoldierOfFate
      @SoldierOfFate 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The Remnant's briefing explains it. It is essentially the Paradox Engine's Time Freeze on steroids - instead of simply freezing time, it creates a time rift that phases a large area around the Engine itself out of existence with the current world. It is also the only other known method to circumvent the MOD's global mind controlling powers, next to Rashidi's neurotoxins.
      This ability is also used in the final Epsilon mission if you achieve certain mission objectives. If you shut off all the Prism Cannons of the Engine in in Babel but let it get close enough to the MOD and you don't use Libra to destroy it, it will delete itself and the tower from existence. If at least 1 Prism Cannon is left active, it will use that instead.

      Not really, because there you actually have to put in work to sabotage the Paradox Conductors or wipe out the Allies and their Weather Controllers as opposed to the bullshit off-map spawns that automatically fly in to demolish your superweapons.
      Mind-controlled Allies and Soviets also don't come in until the upper left Construction Yard (Allies) and lower left Conyard (Soviets) are forced to retreat, as opposed to here where they just come in automatically.
      And Libra gets two-shot by the Prism Cannons when you have her, as opposed to here where she's beefed up so horrifyingly much that you can't even scratch her.
