  • Just like in YR, each faction in Mental Omega has an economy structure to boost their funds. The three structures from the original remain the same with a few alterations while the new faction Foehn has the Reprocessor. All of them share some similar abilities but each one of them has a unique bonus.
    Allied - Ore Purifier
    Soviets - Industrial Plant
    Epsilon - Cloning Vat
    Foehn - Reprocessor

    1:38 This sounds more like something the AI's Virtual Purifiers would do so AIs would tougher to beat. Fairly certain the logic wasn't changed with Ares DLL.
    2:00 can confirm. Whether this was intentional by WW when they coded the Industrial Plant logic or not, who knows.
    Ares DLL doesn't change this.
    2:31 I think I read this somewhere on the MO wiki, but basically due to how the Gear Change SuperWeapon works (an EMP Cannon SW) only WFs present on the field at the time of the firing will be affected.
    If you build a new WF while the EMP effect on the existing WF is still there you can start producing tanks again. Not sure if Stalin's Fist really is immune tho, even when deployed.
    3:10 Ares logic, enabling on units optional.
    3:35 this is a bug that still hasn't been fixed with Ares DLL.
    However, IIRC the Purifiers still provide the income bonus and the Industrial Plants still provide the discount while low on power; or while shut down with the TogglePower mechanic from TibSun Ares brought back. Heck, *SpySats* still provide full map view even when shut down with TogglePower.
    3:55 all this guy does is enable Bounty-logic for whoever owns it. The coders have to set the numbers manually.

      Can confirm about Reprocessor...
      BountyEnabler=FAREPR, and if I put a ",GACSPH" in it and a Chronosphere can do the same thing too.
      And all the tanks and infantry has Bounty=yes and Bounty.Value=whatever number

      Fist used to be affected if deployed but if you deployed it after popping it, it would work. In 3.3.5 it was changed to just not be affected period, if memory serves.

    As a kid I thought Red Alert 2 base game's units were weird enough. Then I played Yuri's revenge and it has even wackier units. Now Mental Omega has units and buildings beyond my wildest dream.

      The Ore Purifier definitely is changing to also provide super Chrono Miners known as Ultra Miners. Also being a Refinery of its own.

      @@RockmariomkiZX Which is basically the inspiration for the epsilon war rig, like the mobile gap generator found at think different being a basis for hazequad. If you look back at the screenshot of the reworked ore purifier there is a violet conscript on the bottom left.

    Reprocessor's special ability "Devourer" is VERY effective against stationary and unsuspecting infantry units.
    Every time I bulk up spies/infiltrator units in one place, then I look up elsewhere and when I look back to check them they're gone, leaving only those nanites (cloud thingy).
    Also, now I know what infiltrators do when going into Ore Purifiers, Industrial Plants, etc.

    I definately think the extra ore options and non-destroyable oil derricks option makes late match games less of a slog. You can actually produce enough units to break a stalemate. Especially against cheating Mental Boosted AI

    This video will probably be obsolete in a couple of months, as the Ore Purifier is getting reworked. Still, we can quite clearly see the direction in which the devs went - the eco boosters are made to synergise with their faction, improving what they rely the most on. Except for the Allies, that is. Some would say the Reprocessor is OP, but it's more so that the others just aren't on the same level. Anyways, I hope to see more MO stuff - I'm sure it will help most new players who can't get the hang of it.

      Its not really op, especially because the foehn units are so expensive, they really need it in the late game

      ​@@Taki_4869 This is the argument everyone makes, however, I think it is a little misguided. Yes, they do need an eco booster, I'm not denying that, but not in this form. Why? Because it is too versatile when compared to the other eco boosters (excluding the Allied one obviously). The Soviets should be spamming out units, and Epsilon should be using a lot of infantry, but what if they don't? What if the Soviets invest heavily into not-so-expendable units, what if the Epsilon chooses to rely only on vehicles? They shouldn't, but they could. In these specific situations, the utility of their eco boosters decreases, the Reprocessor on the other hand will always be 100% effective, no matter what the situation is. Foehn's units being expensive doesn't justify that, they need something to mitigate this weakness, but as it is, the Reprocessor easily wins over the others.

      Yes. But for object destroyed by units only. Which their anti air defence is launch drone to intercept so it still get bounty from defence

    Industrial plan: I can generate a large amount of money every few minutes and reduces the cost of vehicles.
    Cloning vats: I can literally double infantry production giving you twice the value for the same amount
    Preprocessor: I'm basically a grinder copy sending nanomachines to collect dead corpses and scraps and recycle them for cash. did i mention i can also rip your infantry to shreds and feed to our infantry?
    Ore purifier: Credits go Brrrrrrrr

    You should show off most interesting units and buildings from Mental Omega since some look really cool.
    Also I`m sure you know it but there is special option in skimrish called Unholy Alliance where you can start game with all factions MCV and choose to not have enemies at map at for testing. Through having 50 icons in menu is underwhelming while under attack.

    Somehow I feel that Ore Purifier needs even more buff just like the original in RA2YR.
    Primarily due to how small is the Chrono Miner capacity in the original (not in Mental Omega though) but not providing +25% from Oil Derricks is pretty damning compared to other buildings who have supportive advantages from cash reserve boost, utility bonus and that Foehn is just portable Grinder, it's absurdly OP and deserved.
    I thought Mental Omega supposed to be a "balance patch" first and foremost to the original CnC RA2YR.

      Foehn need Reprocessor because their units r too expensive. Especially in late game scenario. When resources more and more less.

      They're buffing the Ore Purifier in the next update. It'll act like a ore refinery (even being able to fulfill the tech tree requirements) and allow a support power that calls in a stronger miner alongside its current effects

      Currently ore purifier has 1 ability. Giving 25% more income. While other has another unique ability. Industrial plant has gear change, Cloning vat can upgrade regen drug, Reprocessor can launch nanite to devour infantry

      Indeed, the Ore Purifier is garbage in MO, it just isn't on the same level as the others. All the other faction's eco boosters are designed to synergise well with their arsenal - the endless Soviet unit spam gets cheaper, Epsilon's reliance on infantry grows even bigger, and Foehn is just Foehn. The Allies on the other hand get 25% more income from miners. Yeah.

      Yeah i still remember back then when i was still young and played this mod for the first time, it was soo hard (its still not easy tho) and i had to learn so much , but damn this mod is gold ,i just love every aspect of it and the story is awesome too!
      You should definitly try it out if you havent yet
      Oh and no im just 21 and 3.3 was my first time i think :D the version without being able to save and before the casual difficulty was introduced, it was tough :D

      Try every faction in the camaign where they will tell about the point of the new units most of the time i started with soviets because of easy tactics that are basically spamming powerful units then play skirmish untill you master every faction you will probably forget about the vanilla game this mod is a treasure

    It is important to note that Ore Purifier will get reworked in the upcoming 3.3.6 patch. It will also work as a drop point to all miners.

      In original game grinder was the same role in tech tree as service depot. They unlocking MCV. Now it's just recycling facility with no purpose on unlocking anything

      They're not even in the code anymore.

      Yeah the grinder is now only a grinder
      The repair crane repairs units slowly in the area around it
      (the tech expansion has the same area repair effect around it)
      and every faction has a repair unit now
      Allies: engineer+ifv =repair ifv
      Soviets: repair drone (called from a support power)
      Epsilon:engineer + stinger= acts like the repair ifv
      Foehn: Minermite drone (its also their mining unit)
      The allieds have a t3 repair support power (accesed trough warpshop)(repairs buildings too)
      The last bastion subfaction of the foehn revolt have also a t2 repair support power for their tanks( repairs only bison and mastodon tanks automatically)
      Correct me if something is wrong or i forgot to mention something :D

    When i watched this video first time I was thinking :"WTF ? Why Foehn Revolt has the best economy booster?"
    After googling I understood why. Everything is balanced . Foehn`s miners harvest the smallest volume of ore comparing to miners of other factions

    So the Allies gets the short end of the stick again, that’s nice. Maybe they need to stop advertising the mod as a rebalanced, refined version of the original YR experience because the entire mod felt like a Foehn wank.
