When they back up the yacht to within 50 or so feet of the dock/pier, why aren't lines just attached to each corner of the back of the boat and the bollards and then used to draw it toward the dock, rather then use the engines? Seems as if that would be safer to me.

Hey there I love the videos of watching the ships dock but you need to see if you can get on board and do tours. That’s what I love to see what the yachts look like inside. Have you talked to the crew if you’re interested in doing that and you need an assistant, wink wink, hint, hint, lol Let me know. I can be your assistant your bodyguard. I won’t be your lover sorry for that one you’re on your own there lol but I would love to see if you could do tours of the yachts that are docking. I believe you’re a captain if I’m correct I’m sure they would let you Are pretty cool unless if they have guest or the owner is on board and I’ve been on some yachts where I’ve spoken to the owners and asked if I could have a tour and most of them are pretty accommodating a lot of them like to show off you know how these rich people are. They love to rub it into the people that have no money. See everybody see what I have look at me I’m wealthy.lol just joking everybody just trying to make you laugh, but I would love to get a tour if you can start doing that, sir. Easy to dock with bow thrusters ! Should try it with a single engine ,no thruster, the wind blowing you on the dock! And all the idiots standing by waiting for it to go wrong! Luckily it didn’t and I looked pro, even though I wasn’t!!

Yes there does appear to be a lack of confidence on behalf of the skipper
Car ferries seem to do this style of docking single handed much quicker.
