Yesterday a caller said drop Bellingham, all the comments were calling him an idiot even Jason Cundy. Now today you all agree with Cundy, do you have a mind for yourselves
Before the game, it seemed silly. Now it seems needed. Bellingham needs a rest. He looks shattered. Foden needs to be 10. And Palmer and Gordon looked positive

Valid point. I think its time to drop walker or move him out left. That's the thing about Southgate being primitve, you can't assume he would be able to let Trent semi-invert. That would be nice because Mainoo would love to push forward on that right hand side.
Trent can play RB coz Walker has been poor. He just cant do the midfield work though. Mainoo in or drop Bellingham back. Foden has to be in the 10

He need to play Gomez in the left back position for Trippier as well. He filled in nicely for Andy Robertson last season and that’s why he’s on the team

Why Saka? Why not Foden? Saka's the only bright spot in this miserable England attack and he's been that with "scared of the ball" Kyle Walker behind him who doesn't ever overlap!!! Saka is and has been England's attacker since he debuted.
Saka played well for 30 mins against Serbia and did nothing after that. Foden has been better, and he's the best player in the squad in terms of ability so we need to maximise him. Imo he's a much better player than Bellingham.
They would move Foden off the left play him and them find another reason why he didn't play well 😂

I'd drop Kane and put either Toney or Watkins up front. Kane looks shattered, it's been a long season for everyone but Kane in particular looks laboured in his movement.
Ohara was calling a called mad for wanting Saka dropped after Denmark as he has been one of our best players. Now, Saka has one below average performance - drop him. This is madness.
Palmer had energy, get it. But it wasnt anything amazing, in fsct he should have scored and the shor was poor.
The issue is not Saka but actually our full backs. They arent good enough going forward and dont overlap that well. This is fine on one side but we need at least ome who is good at it. Trent on the right and walker on the lect with Mainoo as the 6 - solved.
Someone needs to give Shane a cuffing. You can't wax lyrical about the team for 5 minutes and then "urm" and "ah" about selecting 4 players... I want Foden, I want Gordan, but I don't want to drop Bellingham, I want Mainoo alongside Rice...

Sterling would definitely help this team he runs into dangerous spaces and opens up play. The guy is responsible for like half of Palmer's penalties .
Saka did nothing and Palmer caused problems. He also got more goals and assists in a struggling side this season.

Saka has done more than Foden. Saka retains the ball and draws fouls in the final third. Foden and Kane haven’t done anything in 3 entire games. Both were shooting desperately like 12 year olds from outside the box last game.
I think you’ve been watching different games to me mate. Haha funny how we all take different things from it. But in my view saka got lucky with the assist as it was deflected but did like he took on the LB to get in that place but for some reason he’s stopped taking them on? For Arsenal he skins lbs for fun every game now he’s not trying. But for me Foden was poor first game but has been the only attacking player in our team calling for the ball, moving into space and trying to create something. I’d love to see him at 10 with Gordon on left and either saka or Palmer on the right. Looove Bellingham but he looks knackered I’d drop him for a rest and just coz he’s not in the starting 11 can still bring him on for 30 mins to just go for it and impact the game he’ll have energy for that
@@IAmCrumpton - you’re respectful in your comments. Thank you. I’ll tell you what I saw/think. Southgate should have made at least changes to the starting line up. It should have been classified as rotating and not dropping players. Gordon should have started on the left and Palmer should have started on the right. Mainoo should have started beside Rice. I’m ok if Wharton got a run, sat back and allowed Rice to go forward.
Here is where we differ. I think Foden should have been benched and Bellingham should have started in the 10. Why? Can’t play both. They’re crashing the same space. JB drifts out to accommodate Foden. Why bench Foden and maybe even Kane? They had a horrible first game. They weren’t that much better or effective in the 2nd. In the third, I saw them both shooting just to get shots off. Anxiety kicked in and they were rushing and taking shots when better passes were a/v. The felt the need to make an impression or simply be the hero. We all know the ENG’s golden boys, but the ship shouldn’t because they can’t perform. There are other players in the squad.
Again, re Foden: rotating and replacing JB in the 65th/70th is totally fine. Sometimes you see things differently from the bench. Foden is quality. When he’s scoring for City, he’s employing his technical ability and shooting/passing the ball in the corners. In the last two games, he’s going for power. That signifies a lack of confidence. He’s leaning back and skying shots. Let’s not even mention that I never saw him try to take on a man 1v1. He drifts past players in the middle, but had zero impact on the left. That’s just my thoughts.
Southgate should resign at the end of the tournament. Portugal rotated a lot of players today. Plates need confidence next. You can’t give Toney, Bowen, Gordon, Watkins their first real opportunity in the knockout phase and expect the world. Ivan Toney should see if he’s eligible to play for another country. He’ll never get a chance to play until Kane is in a nursing home.

But that still means can bring him on for 30 mins to impact the game and he should have energy to go full at it for that amount of time! Theyre definitely rushing and not taking their shots right it’s concerning. We’re all just hoping things start to click especially if Gordan and Palmer are brought in with mainoo. The last game wasn’t great but definitely an improvement and something to build on! Move Bellingham back is not going to help England in possession because neither him or Rice are great at passing/breaking the lines. Everything will be sideways and backwards. Wharton or Mainoo need to play in centre mid so that we can actually move the ball quickly and progressively without too many touches. We’re back in Lampard/Gerrard territory. Both were great players but neither player was a play making midfielder. You always need a Carrick or a Scholes.
Are we forgetting this wonderful invention known as substitutions? Bring the right players on at the right time makes a huge difference.

His issue isn't Service, it's his insistence on coming deep to get the ball. He never runs in behind the defence. So again, where is his criticism? It is hard to break down teams who play a low block when you don’t play with each other week in and week out, this is being shown with France as well.
Trent will offer support for Saka on the overlap to breakdown the defence and for us to get Kane and Bellingham in the box.
Foden and palmer know each others game inside out, they trained together for years. I think good things will happen if you put Foden 10 with palmer on the right.
The point being, HOW does an International Manager, not know what his starting 11, is WAY before, a bloody tournament? Gordon and Palmer will tear Slovakia apart.

A team like England only have room for one playmaker, the rest need to be runners, scorers and water carriers. So far Southgate has been picking a team with 5 playmakers (TAA, Foden, Bellingham, Kane & Saka) and no one running past the opposition's defence!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bellingham is no doubt a fantastic talent, but he looks knackered. No football player is safe from fatigue. After long seasons they are bound to be tired. We have talent in this squad to fill positions. I agree with Cundy. If you aren't pulling your weight bring fresh legs in.

Duda and Lobotka are very good ball retainers and technically very good. good passers of the ball. wouldn't surprise me if they dominated the midfield on Sunday but they have no fire power going forward.

@@bigceazer you are correct on that part. They may just fall short going forward. However, this team has discovered a habit of making average team look amazing. Only way this doesn't end badly for England is Southgate becomes bold and make some key changes. You can't keep doing same thing and expect diff results. Let Palmer play 10. Either make Bellingham play 8 or if he becomes disgruntled bench him and play Mainoo. Saka right, Eze or Gordon left with Kane top. If Kane falters after 60 mins, bench him for Watkins. Toney joins with 10 mins to go.

Saka at LB is a lil wild but it IS the place he started at for ENG and Arsenal so he has the ability/mentality if needed but most important, he can OVERLAP and move up the wing faster if southgate insists on playing Foden on the left, you could SEE Foden's frustration with Trippier but Foden should be in Judes spot and Jude should be in the middle with RIce

Doughty, Saka, Mitchell, Livarmento should all have been given a chance during friendlies and qualifying at LB.
I’ve been very impressed with livermento whenever I’ve seen him, and Mitchell. Both should have been brought into that big squad during friendlies to have a look at them. Trippier has done a good job considering and is tight defensively but offers nothing going forward and the last game both his corners and free kick were over hit! we’re screaming out for a left footed player to bring balance and help us attack down that side. I find it insane that EVERYONE sees it….apart from southgate! 🤦🏻♂️

For two games bellingham hasn't turned up. Maybe foden in the number 10 for 60 mins and see how that goes, then try a natural winger on the left, palmer, bowen, gordon, either could do a great job. Bellingham might need a rest, as does kane. Watkins deserves a chance.

Saka isn't the problem. Foden is a great player but he is the problem at the moment as he doesn't fit in our current structure. You either have to drop him and bring in Gordon, drop bellignham and move him to the middle or change the structure. however everyones soloutions seem to be dropping saka or moving him when he isn't the problem

I generally want Saka to be dropped now. It would be great for them to do that and England still bottle it, then the whole team gets equal criticism and not one player getting a lot more
Southgate so confused,i definitely wouldn't of taken shaw let alone put him in the starting 11 being fit isn't match fit , the front 4 should be Gordon, Palmer foden at 10 and Watkins striker saka and Bellingham look knackered and kane looks like he's carrying a injury and Rice has captain.
