Big VW Fan. I've owned them since I was 16 from Bugs, to Buses, Ghia's to Cabriolets and most recently a Beetle ('06) and a EOS ('09). There is something about German engineering that puts a smile on your face. Still currently running a German fleet with 2 VW's and 2 Mercedes Benz vehicles, but this GTI is wicked! can't wait to win it, or see it when its finished. Perfect So Cal GTI!
Tears in my eyes. Perfect in every way! If my son and I don't WIN this one, might just build an exact copy! Euro Cars are our passion. Wheels are fine but look forward to the 3 Piece.
Oil and filter change is around $50, $200 for brake pads, $600 to $800 for tires depending on which brand you get, you still need gas which is like $50 to fill up, keep the car washed and cleaned with, insurance and registration expenses. It’s not a Porsche so Volkswagen is a lot more affordable and still fun to own/drive. Edit: I would love to own a Porsche 911 Turbo but I’m still happy with GTI (MK6)
whenever i think of my mk4, i get all nostalgic snd sh!t, cuz' i loved that car and drove it like i stole it. i regret not taking care of her and selling her to this day.
Rotors do warp, it is not pad deposition. It is more common on cars with automatic transmissions and happens when you have to slam on breaks really hard and come to a full stop and stand still for a while. In that case the break pads work as heat insulators. The heat built up on the rotor cannot escape and the differential cooling of the rotor warps it.
Just can't help thinking the rear ride height is too low, looks like there's something really heavy in the trunk. I'd probably raise it a half inch to give the car a more even stance.
It's how it sits visually in the wheel well. They could pull it off but would have to replace a bunch of stuff to change the shape of the wheel well. Not worth doing unless you can do it right, in my opinion.
Okay, we've had our differences ECSTuning, but I still love you lol. This car is going to be incredible. Chances of me winning are slim, but im excited. Can't wait to see it continue to come to together. PS: how did I not know you had a TH-cam Channel?
Hey .... Quick product question .... Have you fixed the issue with the short hoses on the TSI gen 1 PCV solution .... I was gonna buy it but then I read reviews stating the hoses we're to short and that if I were to purchase the kit I pretty much would be on my own for finding out how to make the hoses longer .... I ended up purchasing a competitors product so that I didn't have to deal with an incomplete kit .... Btw, this is not the first time an ECS product has been to short .... My ECS brake lines on the front were to short and I ended up having to change them for nuespeed items of the correct length at my expense .... Not cheap .... I wish you would at least listen to customers about issues even if you didn't reimburse them .... Like call the kits or versions V2 or similar to signify an update to the design
Wow, what a difference those wheels made. The new ones that come on the mk7.5 are so ugly anything would be better but these really look nice. Sweet brakes too.
6 piston brakes are overkill for this car. It's too small to need brakes this big and a lot more unsprung weight when a 4 piston caliper would've done just fine.
The wheels are 18x8.5" et45 all around, but we used 10mm spacers in the rear to get the fitment a little better. Tires are 225/40/18. They look great, don't they?!
Truly a waste of money on a 3000lb car that already has a great stock brake system. I know of several heavy +4500lb SUVs and minivans that need this brake kit more. And reality check, this kit will set you back +$4000 😎
what he means is, they will win the car with the aftermarket parts installed and givew the stock parts back incase you need them. Think a little bro, come on.
Not sure if that specific kit would work, but we have some options for your Passat: www.ecstuning.com/b-assembled-by-ecs-parts/v-volkswagen-passat_b7/c-braking-performance/
Lol rotors warp 90% of the time brother. Especially when it rains. I know you got a product to promote, but tell stoptech to stop pushing the nonsense propaganda. The most important part of the brake job you neglected to cover, like cleaning all mounting surfaces, the importance of using new hardware, and properly lubricating all contact areas, and the proper lubricant to use. I know all the parts were swapped new, but damn. The majority of brake job complaints come from ppl NOT doing these things. Also, 60-5-60 is a great way to cook your rotors and you guessed it warp them. 30-5-30, 40-4-40, is the best way to break them in. No need to be so aggressive.
mm... quite strange, the surface of contact of the pad on the rotor seems exactly the same, I guess that the pad will be bigger but the contact surface seems the same.
I thought I recognized this dude on Donut Media videos! It was from the ECS vids that I was before lol
Money Pit Miata!

This series is unreal I love the way you are doing this build 🔥🔥
Tears in my eyes. Perfect in every way! If my son and I don't WIN this one, might just build an exact copy! Euro Cars are our passion. Wheels are fine but look forward to the 3 Piece.
Those Neuspeed wheels are gorgeous!
The production quality on your videos is fantastic, but it's the content that gets my subscribe.
This is a great buid so far. The color is growing on me
i miss this guy
This is filmed like a porno and I love it.
Agreed!
@Private Eyes Thats Classified information for your "Private Eyes" only... 👍
The car looked the best in this episode.
I really need this break system since I go 120 everywhere in my mk7
Some mofo is gonna be a lucky sob winning this GTI
Lol im a luck sob owning the GTI Clubsport. Which isnt even availible in America... 😄
Isn't this the guy that now works at donut?
Yes he is
I’ll take those wheels if you don’t need them. The nuspeed’s that is. The vw ones are hideous
I love those rims. It should be an option to keep those as an alternate for the winner if they don't like the 3 piece rims.
I'm waiting to save 50 bucks so i could at least have one entry. My mk4 is on its last legs and this thing would be a dream come true.
Well, if you have to save up 50 bucks you wont be able to maintain the car anyway lol

Can't wait for the car to be done it's gonna look amazing
The car looks 10milion times better now :D
Zach before Donut 😯

frosty A B also inclement weather. These guys mean well but they are just pushing a product to sell.

WAIT I KNOW THIS GUY!!!
These are amazing love the updates and can't wait for the entire unveiling of the finished gti keep up the great work guys
You boys let a real gem go here! Donut Media got a deal
About to swap my lemon GLI for a white silver GTI Autobahn. So excited
I'd like the back end a touch higher. Those wheels do look really good
You're right, looks like there's a 100 kg in the trunk!, but awesome GTI.
Okay, we've had our differences ECSTuning, but I still love you lol. This car is going to be incredible. Chances of me winning are slim, but im excited. Can't wait to see it continue to come to together. PS: how did I not know you had a TH-cam Channel?
Dang you guys knocking out this build! Love it !
This is SPARTAAAAAAAAAA
What size wheels and offset did u guys use? They look sick!
The wheels are 18x8.5" et45 all around, but we used 10mm spacers in the rear to get the fitment a little better. Tires are 225/40/18
Golf R brakes: am I a joke to you?
Rotors don’t warp? What are you talking about.

That wheel and brake combo!!👌
Beautiful GTI. Amazing
I need a stop tech upgrade like that for my mk6 great video
Wow, what a difference those wheels made. The new ones that come on the mk7.5 are so ugly anything would be better but these really look nice. Sweet brakes too.
Damn those wheels looks good
wheel specs?
What’s the weight of old and new breaks? How many pistons have the original one? New wheels are lighter then the original?
I've never laid that kind of money on a garage floor before, but if I did, I Imagine it would look just like that.
Isn’t that the dude from donut
It is!!
Performance wise, how does that compare to brembos
Are those neuspeed wheels 19s? I wanna fit a BBK but dont want to deal with 19s. Currently running Rotis KPS 18. Will they fit?
This build is hot.
How did you solve the problem with an ABS pump, to knowing that your car have six piston calipers instead of single piston caliper ?
Assuming the new wheels are 19” x 8.5 ET45? Since you said the original 18” Austin’s aren’t big enough for the new brakes to fit etc?
Should brakes be bedded on a brand new car too?
I never hear anyone recommend doing that with new cars.
Sooooooo clean....fantastic!!!!
these kit fit probably on a Tiguan MQB too!????
Sick wheels! Are those 18” or 19” wheels?
i know the caliper and rotor was only installed for the front. but what about the rear. was it just left stock?
I have a mk6 gti and I’m so confused with brakes. Would the stoptech 328 be a good brake kit for the front?
6 piston brakes are overkill for this car. It's too small to need brakes this big and a lot more unsprung weight when a 4 piston caliper would've done just fine.
yeah pretty much, but they look good lol
Can never have to much brake
making more purchases soon!
What colour where the neuspeeds? Trying to pick a colour for myself
need a brake service soon anyway, how much is the caliper, rotor and pads taken off from the gti?
what measurements are those wheels.. look so amazing
The wheels are 18x8.5" et45 all around, but we used 10mm spacers in the rear to get the fitment a little better. Tires are 225/40/18. They look great, don't they?!
Perhaps I missed it, it would be helpful to show modifying the dust shields.
Those brakes are no joke.
What CBE is that in the end shot? Bull X, B&B or Neuspeed?
what spec are those neuspeed RSE 10s????
TIA
Anyone know the official name for this colour? May do a wrap on my GTI next summer
White Silver Metallic
Hey ECS
can you ask >>>>AP
Great video! I have a question, I'm owner of a 2015 VW Sportwagen TDi SE, and wonder if those brakes may fit? It has original 17" wheels.
Nice video whats the background music its dope
Nice man what kind of coilovers are on the car?
Will those brakes fit with the stock OEM wheel set?
Are there any stock upgrade kits that would work such as an RS4 brakes on an 8p A3?
Looks awesome already !
What are the tints on this car? Is it like 20% all around?
Truly a waste of money on a 3000lb car that already has a great stock brake system. I know of several heavy +4500lb SUVs and minivans that need this brake kit more. And reality check, this kit will set you back +$4000 😎
wheelslook sick!
Are the neuspeed wheels 18’s are 19’s? I want the brake kit but I wanna go to 19’s. Lol
What are the specs on the Neuspeed wheels such as size, width, offset, bolt pattern?
Guys saying six pot is waaaay overkill, clearly have never been on a track before.... Could never have too much brakes!
This car don’t need brakes like this, don’t matter how fast it goes,
My c36 amg don’t even need that.
Distinct AMG no such thing as brakes too big. Idc how fast your car is. If you can’t stop what’s the point of going fast?
Yeah I see your point but it’s a bit over kill on a vw golf.
I want it .. I’m going to get this car ... but do you need to be local??? Cause I’m from Boston..
were the windows tinted? they look darker
Could you take the old front breaks and put them on the rear
Are those RSE10's hyper silver or machine silver?
Awesome video
Do you need to make an account on ECS to be in the giveaway??
Damn that a nice car love to have it
why is zack there lol
Does this car have e-brake? If so how did you replace the rear rotors?
Daniel Mejia I believe the rear rotors were replaced with the stock size and the stock calipers were retained.
How much for the stock brakes you just tool off?
The winner of the car will get all the stock parts!
what he means is, they will win the car with the aftermarket parts installed and givew the stock parts back incase you need them. Think a little bro, come on.
is this guy from donut media ??
Looking good!
Would that big brake kit fit a 2018 Passat GT 3.6L?
Not sure if that specific kit would work, but we have some options for your Passat: www.ecstuning.com/b-assembled-by-ecs-parts/v-volkswagen-passat_b7/c-braking-performance/
@@ecstuning thank you
what size are those wheels?
I love it!!!
Can these rotors fit on 18" Austin wheels?
Did you lower it or is that just the effect of the custom wheels?
He lowered it in the previous video
yst42 whoops, thank you.

Zack?
nice works
I'm in love.
Which Coilovers did you go with?
Those are H&R's Sport Plus coilover.
mm... quite strange, the surface of contact of the pad on the rotor seems exactly the same, I guess that the pad will be bigger but the contact surface seems the same.
Cool!
