Just replacing the back box is like inserting just the tip. When you have the car lifted, you may just go all the way and do the full exhaust system.

I would install a Wagner intercooler and a EWG Downpipe.
Not for only Tuning reasons but for health reasons.
With the intercooler the ECU will not pull Timing so fast. (It will have the Power for longer time)
And the downpipe will transfer the Heat faster .
For the cost of the Akrapovic mufflers, and to only save 10 pounds, you'd be better off just keeping half a tank of gas in the car.
half a tank would save around 30 more lbs of weight than the exhaust did. with fuel weighing about 6.2 lbs per gallon and the tank holding 14.5 gallons...
Though if you're going for fuel efficiency the opposite is true, you want to run from full to just about empty without putting any extra in. especially for gas engines where fuel vapors can escape more easily. i mean its not a significant difference, we are talking maybe 5-10 miles difference in a full tank of gas...
Or start running on the tread mill 3 miles daily , lose some body fat :D

Spinal2111 Lol How about deleting muffler, deleting resonators😂?! Those mods are guaranteed horsepower gains. Not only you save weight, you're increasing airflow, less restriction.

“More power than we ever believed the car would do”?????? Come on guys....my grocery getter mk7 got +90 HP and +120 lb/ft just from stage 1 APR flash. Everyone knows 2.0 TFSI is capable of crazy gains. You, sir, should especially know (and believe) this.
This is a MQB GEN3 TSI engine. Not TFSI because the fuel strategy is different. Just by the way.

Just Sum Guy Is VAG (Volkswagen Audi Group) still lying to customers about performance, efficiency, emissions, ABS failures, engine control, exhaust systems, and CEOs joking about the holocaust? When the golf Anti-lock Braking Systems have a 15.8% chance of failure, what will determine your path, during hard braking? What about during panic braking? When a car is unsafe at any speed and made by a firm which is directed by criminals, what’s not to love ❤️?

two real simple mods to gain more then 60hp is a downpipe and these can range from anywhere from 200$-1200$ or more but you can defeinitely find one in your price range and then get either a Cobb AP or another tune of your choice and then you can get a EQT tune with I recommend fro the highest power gains with the Cobb AP which can get you around 330hp which is around 100 hp gain.
Any idea what rear tow strap they have or how they got it to come out of what looks like the bumper without any noticeable hole?
Looks nice.. That's a lot of camber in the rear isn't it? Seems like it wouldn't rotate that well. More negative in the front, and less in the rear (plus a rear sway bar)?

You also need to have a fan pushing air to the intercooler and radiator while on the dyno!

We are currently setting up our S3 track car with KW V3 as well. How many MM of toe did you end up using fro tans rear? And what dampening and rebound settings did you find works best?

Best bang for buck is Apr stage 1.
United Motorsport tune all the way. $800(if you have manual)$1200(if you have the dsg) gain 100whp and toque
Until the factory clutch starts slipping some 12,000 to 15,000 miles later.
And oh, VW won't honor warranty claims on any failure that's deemed to be "related" to the APR mod.
Next time THINK before posting things you've no understanding of.
Pete shea Anybody who gets and ECU tune knows you void the warranty. You pay to play. Also a DSG tune increases clutch clamping pressure. Kettle ... black. If you look into the history of this engine people have comfortably had 450 horse power out of these.
@@Stevo3032 Actually, plenty of people do NOT know that, based on personal conversations and posts I've seen. I never addressed the DSG as being as being problematic with tunes. It's the six speed manual's clutch that's the issue. I also never mentioned engine durability, though will note that the VW group's engineers specify substantial mechanical upgrades for factory engines that are even modestly more powerful than the GTIs. Do you think they're going that for no reason?
Also, you may wish to consider taking a more respectful tone with mechanical design engineers (including engines) with more than 30 years of experience under their belt as well as multiple registered patents.
REAL engineering is vastly different than what most car enthusiasts are even remotely aware of.

Simple mods? For the cost of this akrapovic exhaus he could buy my GTI mk5... And ECU? Those are not SIMPLE mods xD I hoped that he ll get like two screws swapped and boom! magic happend you got 60 HP more XD BTW those two mods are like most basic mods that every petrolhead should have done as the first ones if he pursuit more HP and for better sounding (+hp #justexhaustthings). :|

Why not to upgrade the intercooler? running at the track it will be heat soak pretty fast.

No it won't. Swapping to a large intercooler for a factory setup just increases lag
That is true but unless this build is restricted by some rules there’s no reason to not upgrade to a 3” downpipe, a bigger intercooler and bigger turbo. With that we’re talking about 450bhp and this GTI would be much more interesting.
And less reliable.
im not familiar with this vehicles intercooler, but the 1.8T and 1.9TDI side mount intercoolers should always be upgraded because they have are really pretty bad intercoolers often with issues of filling up with oil. while this is normal, there is no drain plug and eventually enough oil will collect in there and can potentially damage the engine...

I thought that using the car on the track would void the warranty. Perhaps, once the car us out of warranty, there’s more freedom to tune. The box 📦 may be cheaper?
Akra exhaust, suspension, expanded body... for sure you will keep the warranty... it just look like full reverse changes are possible with 3 days of work and full body repaint....

Liam Casey EWG means eintragungsfrei and downpipes are legal. HJS manufactures legal downpipes with 2 metall katalysators

You have to disconnect the battery to install. When reconnecting the batter all the systems go haywire. Has nothing to do with the mods and standard procedure for a VW car. I just went thru this with my car less than a week ago.
MeltingRubberZ28 lol. They faults will come back trust me I’ve worked on Audi/vw and Lamborghini got 16 years. Disconnecting the battery is a temporary band aid lol
Maybe you're not understanding what I'm saying. I'm not saying disconnect the battery to clear codes which it seems like that's what you're saying. I'm saying that when the battery is initially reconnected, while the systems are relearning, there are warning lights galore. Those go away within the first few minutes of driving though.
MeltingRubberZ28 I understand. Did you do work on this car? I’ve disconnected plenty of batteries and never had all those warning lights. Lol on vw the only ones that might be on if everything is working correctly is the epc and tpms light. That’s due to the steering angle sensor not being adapted. So it’s not due to the battery disconnecting lol
Cobb accessport is better, no need to deal with sensors, it's just a plug and play, then get it dialed in with a pro tune.

Its for computer boards and it helps keep circuits from becoming loose from vibration.

243 HP base line how is that accurate if the car stock has less than that? Is that at wheels are crank? Dyno rigging not accurate for sure.
They typically make 230WHP stock on 93

Daniel Turner Volkswagen advertised the GTI with 220HP. He said 240hp.
However just about everyone is finding that when getting base line dyno runs, the car actually generates upwards of 220-230whp. Stock. Suggesting the vehicle is underrated.
Most goof stage 1 tunes will bring MK7 GTI's to around 280-300whp. Depending on tune, fuel and additional mods.
He said at the ending at the video it made 243 hp. So i believe it the gti performance with 245 hp.
soo...i just bought a golf 1.4 tsi, do you think that is worth it to make all of these modifications or is better to just wait for a better car with a better engine to modify?
