I bought the Omega Speedmaster after saving for 2 years, and it was a dream come true. I flew from Amsterdam to London, took a quick coffee break, and returned. Now, I'm eager to research its current value. As for the refreshed Speedmaster with the white dial, I'm not particularly fond of the recent release.
Great that will fetch you some cash. *I used to be a collector, but I liquidated my collection to venture into real estate. In January, I acquired homes in Malibu for $45million, and the returns on investment far exceed what I earned as a collector.
How did you grow your portfolio to $45m, I'm impressed, I have a lump sum in the bank, the rates are not impressive so I'm moving it, what's your cash flow like?

You can get the Grand Seiko (SLGW003). It is a regular, non-limited release. The limited edition one is the one in Rose Gold (SLGW002). Thank you as always for the great video!

The date being at 4.30 is I believe a requirement from ISO 6425 updated: all markers need to be lumed. Helm does it by luming date windows.

Kudos for a comprehensive and well done episode. Of all the watches featured, the one that speaks to me the most is the Piaget Polo 79. I have always loved this watch since its introduction in 1979. It made quite the splash with the upper class back then and it is a true work of art that can be worn on the wrist. Cheers!

During Watches and Wonders, I felt there was a collective *sigh* and the general consensus was the industry was taking a very conservative position in an unstable global economy. As this video shows, we've had a lot of great watches so far this year.
I should've opened with that line, it felt very flat at W&W, but seeing these pieces individually, man there were some standouts (that didn't get the coverage they deserved: GP, PF, Angelus etc) 😉 Well said Austin 🥃
@@austin73 🤝 concur. Luxury watchmakers were probably seeing a slowdown middle of last year and shelved (or held back) some pieces. They knew that many countries were in recession despite the economic numbers being cooked to say otherwise. Rolex is the best example - released 2 pieces (all gold Sub and platinum 1908) targeted at the super rich who tend to ignore recessions.

Thank you for this video. The Angelus timepiece looks really nice. I like the Tudor pink dial as well. Have you ever considered the JLC Tribute Reverso chronograph from the 2023 Watches & Wonders?
Last years JLC Chrono was the knock-out AND being the pond scum I am, I'll be giving it a year (or 5) wait until the price is semi-attainable. Absolutely looking at the Reverso with great interest 😉

I've recently began my obsession as a watch collector. And i must say- out of all the luxury brands I've been researching, for me the amzwatch's watches are the most intriguing.
I actually love the date window at the 12 on the longines
It's a banger, right? Conquests in general have a nice touch with the Date at the 12, the added PR on the dial is the cherry on top 🔥

@@ID-Guy Agreed. But given its price, I'd recommend the Moels 528 to get a similar vibe at an affordable cost. Another funky looking watch.

I tried on a prototype of that Grand Seiko yesterday. Matched it up against the Omiwatari and I couldn't believe GS made a dress piece that absolutely blows the Omiwatari out of the water. The slimmed down Evo9 case is absolute magic. It dances between dress and sport so easily.
I can’t get that angular AP out of my head. I’ll never see it, I’ll never own it, but hot-diggetty do I want one!

For me the standout release at W&W this year was the Czapek Promenade Goutte D’eau. Absolutely mesmerising dial complemented by an amazing movement, and being a limited issue I ordered one on the spot. At a price of just CHF18K it's surprisingly reasonable, but the only downside is they won't start deliveries till next year.

Tudor pink, hands down. Followed by the pro cycling, I just wish they were a wee bit smaller. 43mm for the FXD is too chonky for my wrist.

I've only ever handled an OG Datograph from '99 and that one blew my mind... can't imagine what a machine like a Tourb, Perpetual etc etc would be like 🔥

Once again, another fantastic analysis of the newest watches and of course, being an Omega fanboy the white dial Speedy is my personal favorite, but don’t tell anyone I really like the IWC Portuguese. Thank you for your content your passion, and keeping these videos coming!
Some great looking watches in that list, my favourite from the potentially affordable end is the Dato 9. Until yesterday I had managed to try on most of the glass house watches but none left me really wanting one. Yesterday someone I work with was wearing the Dato 9 and it’s gorgeous. The whole concept of it feels really flawed, take a chronograph and remove two dials, put the date in a weird place and sell it for the same price as a real chronograph, nuts. I love it.

Someone should add up the total value of these watches and let us know the tally. For me, the Rolex 1908 ticks so many boxes regarding what I simply desire. Arabic numerals, small seconds, exposition case back, and the guilloche dial. I can admire this one even without owning it.

Strong picks... +1 for the Parmigiani Toric, TAG Carerra (tho silver bi-compax for me) and the AT black. I just hope PF do a steel variant of the Toric... I do also like the white dial Speedy and the grey bezel GMT

Glad you mentioned the Timex Jet. Timex keeps producing these designs that are really appealing but something about them just comes up missing.

For me, this and the previous year has been the rise of tag heuer. I feel like they’re pulling a longines with all of their latest releases and really stepping up their design and value game.
That Dato 9 Glassbox really caught my attention (because it's so ballsy, y'know?) Who releases a Chrono of that kind with confidence today? Great comparison with Longines too 🔥 Well said!
Oris Hölstein editions are always so weird and wild. There are so many awesome ones released along the years, I would prefer the newly reelased forest green 65 over the blacked out one.
Anyways, that AP cybertruck looks absolutely amazing, the best one out of all of these.

Great recap. There are two standouts for me. The Omega "Blacqua Terra" and the Tudor BB GMT. I also would mention Longines overall releases. One watch you didn't mention was the Seiko Shog-Urai, which I think is really cool. I am curious what you think the second half of the year will bring from Tudor, as they seem to always release something interesting. Personally I would love to see something in the standard Pelagos line
I'm all about the chronographs so far. Definitely like the white dial speedy. The sort or reissue of the Zenith Chronomaster Triple Date is also pretty cool, too.
The GS Birch Bark is regular production, by the way. Only the rose gold version is a limited edition.

Pink Tudor is actually made in collaboration with Inter Miami - David Beckham is a co-owner of Inter Miami and also a Tudor Ambassador, so there it goes.
There is also Inter Milan collaboration - but that is for Tudor Black Bay 58, also released this year
Grand Seiko SLGW003 is not a limited edition so you can pick up yours.
Wonderful first half review! Honestly, I think Zenith really steals best watch with that Big Date Pilot Chronograph. What a great piece! I also agree the Darth Vader from Tudor was their best release this year. I just saw it in person this week and it looks the business in person. Fantastic dial and the composite construction black/grey case makes its size look more restrained.
I'm very interested in the Longines Heritage PR!! I also prefer the new Tudor FXD Pro Cycling to all their other watches - I agree with your velodrome lines similarity statement, and love black and red dial combinations - Thanks for getting so much info into a compact vid!!
Great video, thanks for keeping me updated on all the nee watches. This is a brilliantly concise vid! Love the way Tag ripped off the crown with those gmt, its perfect and serves the crown right for being so unattainable. My favorite watch is that Cartier and why are people going crazy for pink bb chrono? Makes no sense when you can get the W or B at a discount. Oh well
Just got the ESKA amphibian yesterday. It’s a beautiful watch. Wish it had a better movement and I might swap it out in the future. The bezel is a countdown bezel which I think is awesome. I also wouldn’t say the watch has a faux patina, they just chose a different color for the indices, hands and bezel.
Nice Q3 Overview; good work. Of the listed pieces, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the AP REMaster2! I normally care NOTHING for AP, but this work of art - the Sand Gold, the beautiful Blue, the AP signature, my Lord it's gorgeous - and unobtainium for me and the other 8 billion minus 250 on the planet. Plus, even if I had the money, it's actually too big for me, but one can dream....

Excellent list. I thought FC new moon phase was a great watch for them.
About half these watches I'd call enthusiast watches. I'd say that enthusiast watches (regardless of the brand name) can be defined as 'too cool for department stores'.
The others would then be connoisseur's watches (a higher level). However an enthusiast would still notice Genta style designs, so it's hard to define between the two groups.

I personally love that Tudor Chrono pink. Even though I was born in 70s, that watch reminds me of old American movies from 60s. I feel like that period of time was the most fun out of all. The time when my parents was young. Also very important time for music industry that brought us the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan. Ray Charles and much more. Chrono Pink is about 60 years late, which makes it a vintage in its own way.
Why is no one mentioning the zenith chronomaster original triple calendar? That watch looks amazing!

The Audemars piguet re-master is looking really good. I wonder how much the retail price is on these. Definitely a sleeper in my opinion.

But it needs to be quartz like the Omega Seamaster 300! What's it with Swiss brands not including quartz movement options for models that deserve them? This is clearly almost a homage of a quartz watch! Make it quartz!
And the Aqua Terra gloss black is wonderful! Not the most thrilling release, but still wonderful.

The ivory Angelus is incredible, but 17,000 Swiss Francs, ouch!!
Angelus was most impressive but the price!!! The rest struck me as more of the same. I have a large collection and I'm getting to the point where I have something that looks like most "new" watches, at least in my price range. The Longines Conquest 38mm is competing with more expensive watches within and without the Swatch Group.
Can you show us your thoughts on what a new SMP300 generation may look like? And what you would do if you had to do it

Insert watch brand rings you and gives you full creative freedom for a current model refresh, or new model to fill a hole such as a dedicated Omega GMT for example

Wouldn't mind hearing what you think of the Breguet double tourbillion - the best and the worst of Breguet.
I’m a Zenith fan, but their small divers are too small and their big divers are too big and thick.
The Revival would be in my collection if it was 40-42mm and the Extreme would be in my collection if it were under 14mm.
They just badly missed on the dimensions of their divers imo.
They really brought us some oddities... 100% on the money with their Extremes being too OTT. I just don't get it, they have all the design prowess, amazing skill with the likes of their Defy Skyline Chrono, Skeletons etc BUT they drop the ball 🥃
The zenith diver would have been a 10/10 if it was thinner.
Quite a bit of competition for our money in the first half!

May I proffer the Tiffany & Co. 27 mm Union Square on a brick bracelet with either the real Tiffany Blue dial or white dial? Or perhaps the NORQAIN Freedom 60 40 mm Chronographs with a choice of pastel dials and dark subdials? Wonderful timeless designs.
I think the Tudor Pink Chrono was made in partnership with Inter Miami and not Milan as stated.
