I would love to hear your thoughts on these wheels, I think they have come a long way from there original design and also I love the new look of the non butterfly weave, but the price raise does it make them the wheel of choice??? I am excited to see how the wheels perform with the new inner width 23mm. Let me know if you have any questions at all and if you are interested in the wheels feel free to use the discount code for 10 percent off "gcperformance10" at checkout

I think the price increase is a little bit of greed mixed with delusion. Winspace are not quite there with there brand in the west so bumping price up to compete with more well know western brands is not a good move in my opinion.
I have CRW 50/60 and they are far lighter. Should be $1400/1500 wheel market is saturated so much better offerings out there for the money.

    • @dzrdza
      @dzrdza หลายเดือนก่อน +5

Super expensive, even their 2.0 are super expensive now. I think their prices will soon go down, not because of competition from Europe or USA, but because of bigger competition from China. Also, saving of 2.2 watts at 48kph/30mph is so puny, it is not worth the mention.

A lot will depend on the aero data/ride reviews. So far with this set it looks like they actually have seen some aerotesting. Other than PT's tests I am not sure the previous generation did or the CRW's. You have to ask what the go is if brands like Swissside/DT Swiss leverage all their F1 gained engineering knowledge, are out performed by brands the perhaps just ran a few CFD models. Is there a decreased margin somewhere that allows CRW to go lower on weight and spoke counts that other brands both chinese and western won't go to or do they just have better control of the manufacturing process being a Chinese based company?

The irony with Winspace’s pricing of the new wheels is that in some of their recent social media advertising, they point out and attempt to capitalize on the fact that bicycle industry prices have become so inflated! Maybe the new version 3’s should be renamed HYPO-CRIT”.

Farsports offer a much better value proposition for their carbon spoke wheels with in-house hubs. I have a set of Lun Hyper 23 wheels and I like them a lot, but I wouldn’t pay $1,699 for the new version 3’s even with a 10% discount.

  • @suhdud4646

I've got a set of the new Elite Wheels Helix 68Ds and they cost $1599. They basically have the same specs interms of spoke thinkness and by the looks of it they have the same bearings and weigh less and for the same money, I can buy Bora WTOs.
For $1700, you're only really getting a wider internal rim width and a heavier wheel in comparison.
FYI - Im in Asia at the moment and the rachet hub is pretty much everywhere and I have a wheel set that has 3.3mm carbon spokes, exact same bearings and hub (52t), 21mm internal, 50mm deep and a 5 year warrenty and they cost me less than $800. I cant see where the extra $1000 is coming in.
I think that with the new products being released out of China, their prices are pushing their products into the range of equipment that is being used in world tour races.
    IE: Reserve 52/63 w/DT350 hubs cost $1799.
I think that China wheels as fantastic as the top tier stuff is, they should stay in the $1000 - $1500 range. That is their niche and their niche is the appealing price.
Im not hating on Chinese wheels or frames, I exclusively recommend Chinese frames and wheels to everyone asking about upgrading or wanting to get into the sport. I love Chinese products from the top players in the game.

I have a pair of LUN Hyper R45 Rim brake and have been using them for over seven months now. They have been great, no issues at all. I bought them on a Black Friday special, so I'm especially pleased with the price as well. As for the sparse grease found in the free hub during the video, if I was servicing the hub I would be more generous with the grease, however, the ratchet wheels are the only part of the hub that moves so functionally there would be no issues with the ratcheting of the hub and worst case it would need servicing sooner. Also, the bearings are sealed so no grease is needed on the exposed bearing. I'm so happy with my LUN wheels that I will very likely buy a pair of the Hyper3's for my next bike. Obviously a promotion like Black Friday would sweeten the deal, but the discount code in the video is a pretty good start. I went to the websites of the wheels mentioned in the comments and saw none of them that were 23mm internal width. Seems like if a person is going to buy a new set of wheels, getting the most advanced available is a good move.

Way to much money, i think winspace are trying to capitalise now they have been excepted into the market. Unfortunatly my experience has been mixed. I supported the brand as they catered at what i beleive is a fair / value product but there bearings are crap, the hubs do not provide adaquate protenction for any bearing when wet so your lucky to get more that 1k miles before replacing, winspace offer to replace them foc but want the consumer to cover shipping which is more that buying a premium enduro or ntn bearing locally. I wont be buying any winspace products again im sorry!

2024, the bare minimum internal rim width is 25mm imo. Not a fan of the carbon spoke.

Extremely heavy for a carbon spoke wheelset, it's easily 100-200g too heavy before even starting to compete with the lightest hoops, and it's extremely overpriced. You can contact any OEM like Farsports, yuanan, carbon speed, and a solid other dozen, get exactly the spec you want, and it will cost you potentially HALF, AND weigh less.
    It's actually shocking.

yea thats what I was shocked by but last gen models as well had carbon spokes and skinnier rim and they were in this realm, I get it this is almost a 70mm depth wheel in the rear but companies right now with 50 front and 60 rear are in the realm of like mid 1300s I think these wheels need to be like 1425 for the set

Huge missed opportunity here. They should have gone to an external width of at LEAST 32mm. By increasing the internal width it just means a tyre will come up a bit bigger than before and therefore reduce the aerodynamics.
CRW or Exar look a better bet than these.
