    Absolute love the look of these wheels I went to put them on my winspace bike today was about to ride but I forgot to charge my ltwoo group so I had to take a tarmac sl8 expert, But very very very soon I am excited for these wheels...
    are you excited? do you think winspace is drifting to far out of there lane by making this more expensive items, or do you like the innovative approach of going after the whole industry and putting out a new piece of equipment for every category??

      I'd say that Farsport currently is more attractive. $1k for a 1170g 45mm deep carbon wheel with carbon spokes.
      I feel like 1 piece carbon fiber is a potentially expensive repair. Especially because there is no life-long warranty with Hyper

    I quite agree with you, I'm going to put this budget into wheels and they will be Roval Rapid CLX. we have experienced Hyper and when it comes to resale people don't like them, they want brands like dt swiss, Enve, Roval etc.
    Here we are on a premium price with a wheel which does not have a premium look, at this price we want an impeccable finish, a worked writing which stands out from the rest of the production but which remains sober and elegant. there it's a bit "too much" even if the technology is advanced. I don't find it attractive and I would never spend €2500 on these wheels.

    I think if you “need” wheels of this level and up someone should be giving you them as part of a sponsorship. UCI says that all parts raced have to be available to the public so they are.

      Good to see companies thinking about balancing maximal performance with practical versatility. Equipment damage is part of the game in competitive cycling. I remeber racing on early one-piece carbon wheels back in the '90's and having to change out an entire wheel when only one part sustained damage. I had sponsorhip at the time, so it cost me nothing to do so. But, if I was personally paying for all my gear, I'd think twice about such trade-offs.

    I feel like $2600 is steep for a relatively unknown chinese wheel. I get it, cutting edge spoke setup, meanwhile everyone shrieks about what ENVE/Zipp offer being too expensive. Also, for the price, I’d like to see wider internal rim width and deeper section options. On looks, I agree, I’d rather them be black or something than have the same look as the wheel they sell for half the price.

      U been living under a rock?
      Its not an unknown chinese wheel. Winspace has been making frames and wheelsets for bigger western brands for 15+ years. They've sold hundreds of thousands of HYPER over the last few years. Watched this twice. Hopefully this will help you to your Ferrari goals.
    AFAIK, the choice to manufacture a single piece carbon wheel had less to do with performance characteristics and more to do with carbon fibre manufacturing limitations at the time, constraining them to using bonded spokes. A choice they decided to stick with even after the release of threaded carbon spokes.
    If one piece carbon wheels provide superior power transfer that's great, but I think that is more of a marketing afterthought in response to companies like Winspace and Elitewheels releasing high performance threaded carbon spoke wheels for a quarter of the price.

    Interesting story there about Mad Fiber, which was a Seattle-based company. If it was a Chinese company, some racist jerks would have claimed Chinese can't do cutting edge or innovate, like they did in response to the isolated QA issue with those new Craft Racing Works wheels.

    • @GCPerformance18
      @GCPerformance18  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yea that is true but those mad fiber wheels were out long time ago, like before cycling youtube was big, before amazon was only on kindles and stuff like that, this was all just like riders ocming into shops sharing there stories on items

      @Dee-Ell 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@GCPerformance18 Regardless, as you said, those Mad Fider wheels were "ahead of its time", which means Mad Fiber were trying to innovate, doing cutting edge. But they ran into failures, until, as you mentioned, some other company perfected it. So, the point is that failures while trying to innovate happens, regardless of the country. It is part of the innovation process.
