It’s Friday. You come home from school. Your teacher did not assign any homework. You get home, grab a soda and chips from the fridge and turn on your PS2 to play Jak 2. Life is good.
Then Jake 3 came out when we had got the ps3 and that was even better imo

Those Salamanders and Chameleons took me way back. Every time I see anything that looks like these two creatures I always remember Jak 2 loooool
It’s not even that it was ahead of its time, games nowadays are too far behind😂 this concept wasn’t revolutionary, it was packed with good humor, good characters, and good gameplay. Why games can’t get it right is beyond me. The industry is getting dry with no fresh ideas. You’d think it wouldn’t be so hard after all the fantastic games that have been released
too bad there is still no remake in sight
This game was so hard as a kid, that when you got to a cutscene you actually earned all the praise that Jak gets. So good.

Jesus Christ when I was a kid this game was impossible to beat and now it looks so easy
It always seemed to be in those hardest games ever lists, thats why i decided to play it again. It really isn't that difficult at all. A couple of missions are a pain in the ass but that's it

Man this game was amazing as a kid. They pulled a whole 180° turn in the story compared to the first game and I loved it so much

When I was younger this game took me forever to beat. Hard to believe it can be an 8 hour playthrough. Thanks for uploading!
Thanks dawg. This game really isn't that hard, even on hero mode i didn't find it very difficult. One or two sticky missions but that's it

SourceSpy91 I almost finished it but I lost my memory and my memory card
I admid that Jak 2 was the hardest of the trilogy. But it was the best one in my opinion.
I beat jak 2 many times and just recently I beat it in 3 hours and 27 minutes through the tomb of mar glitch which allows you to go in the tomb of mar at the beginning of the game if you glitch through the right walls
Not many people know this, and i havent yet seen you do it (i'm only 3 hours and 44min into this) but...
Did you know that if the Krimzon Guard lose line of sight with you, and you press yourself against a wall (holding the stick while next to a wall), you'll enter a "hiding" stance where jack places his back to the wall, and looks around, the Krimzon guard will run around like they've completely lost you for a moment. They'll start shouting stuff like: "He's dissapeared! Suspect not in sight! Where'd he go!?", and when they leave the immediate area, after a few seconds they will drop their alert and stop searching for you?
All of this of course applies to all *non-scripted* Krimzon Guard chases.
I used to abuse this all the time, if i got bored and went on a KG killing spree, i would lay low for a few seconds and then go back to doing missions.

HP McDoogle yeah, they kept that mechanic in jak 3 as well but nerfed it and even give Jak a surprised look animation for when he's caught. Funny you caught that, I discovered it as a kid as well lol

I Played this game several times and didn’t know about it.
When Daxter actually does something cool and wins the class 2 race, you probably expect him to bask in his own victory, but he shares his victory with Jak even though this one time, Jak literally did nothing. that's wholesome and i love it.
Daxter probably learned a lot in the 2 years he was away from Jak on his own, and the whole him getting an exterminator job probably taught him a bit of discipline too.

Haven City is such a beautiful place. I love the different districts and plazas. I can only imagine how it would look under a remastered version of the game.

This game shocked me in many ways, when i was 7.
Jak was in danger on a cutscene for first time.
The city looked so different from the places in precursor legacy.
Jak talked.
You could attack civilians.
Jak got guns.
You could attack Ashelin and Sid, even if they were on your side.

Grew up in post soviet country. Im the only one in the neighbourhood to have ps2 and jak2 is the only game i have. A lot of nostalgic memories heading back to 2002-2003.
As a kid I spent way too much time messing around in the skate park lol. Thx for uploading this so many great memories

Jak 2 is the hardest game in the trilogy, I remember beating the whole game when I was 10 back in 2003 when it released
Hmm I see . I struggled this game too . the year it was released. And two months later in 2004 January I finally beat it. I was 12 in 2003.the old times
I was 9 when I first got it for Christmas in 2003. It was hard, but with some help from my dad, we were able to beat it. ^^
this was such a prominent and amazing experience as a kid because the first one was a random gamble when i decided to rent it at a game store and then instantly ended up LOVING it. From the characters to the humor to the maps and the physics. Then number 2 was coming out soon and I was prepared for launch and my parents bought it for me for christmas and I was so excited because it was the first game I didn't have to share with my brother as he got a gamecube so I was allowed to bring the ps2 to my bedroom. I still remember feeling the game case, looking at the art and smelling the inside. The mystery of popping the disk in and waiting for the intro to load. I laid there all weekend experiencing the game. It felt like a more mature and dark version of the first game.This game truly gave me so many amazing memories. All the challenges and cool guns. I remember printing a poster of the game cover and taping it on my desk in school haha. The nostalgia hits hard.😢. Getting old sucks and makes me wish I could go back for a day. I still relive these days playing the game at my apartment but it'll never feel like it did back then.
I kinda miss being a kid and sucking at video games, because it made them last longer. Stuff like this would take me a month or two to finish, but nowadays I can tear through it in a weekend. :-(

I've played this game for the first time in 2003 when I was an early teenager, and I've been regularly replaying it ever since, it just never gets old. 1 and 3 are great too, but there's something about 2 that literally never lets me get tired or bored of it, definitely in my top 10 games of all time.
I'm an early teen rn but my older brothers made me play this game as my first game when I was young and it etched into my childhood 😭

Ratchet and clank too but I only played the remake (our PS2 doesn't work anymore and my bros couldn't find the og version on PS4 so they just got the remake with me)

The driving/ vehicle operation in this game was amazing when you master switching zones at the right time. This game was truly ahead of its time

I remember playing this game and “Jak 3” with my brothers when we were younger. We used to tell our mom about the game and all the guns we’d unlock/get and she’s kinda get mad cuz supposedly this game is “too violent” and it was rated T and we were just kids 😂. Oh how much I miss my childhood. And now I’m 18 😅

Man I was around 10 or 11 when I first played Jak 1 and 2, I don't think I ever beat either of them. I'm 25 now but I swear I'm going to buy an old ps2 and buy these games again. So much nostalgia.

I played this and the other games at a friends house when I was a kid since I didn't own a PS2 lol. I miss cartoony platformer games like this. I also miss when games had more of a sense of wonder to them. Wish I could go back.

The story of this game is excellent. Jak 3s story is even better
i remember that i played this game without memory card, i played 18 hrs per day, and i reached pass all game in 7 days
Think a movie series of this would be pretty dope, especially in 3d really futuristic and colorful
this game brings back so much memorises. So long ago that i dont remember much about it but you every once in a while have that feeling that your done that part of the game before.
It's hard to believe that the game is only 6 hours long. When I was 5 this game was so hard it took me forever but now when I look back on it the game looks relatively easy. Btw thanks for the video your really good

This was literally my first contact with video games. I remember having a hard time even to pass the moving platforms of the first level, also remember to be stuck in a lot of levels cuz i didn't know english. It's cool to see that it's good as i remembered.
Wow. Revisiting some formative moments here. I put hundreds of hours into this game when it was the only one I owned for the ps2. This and Resident Evil 4 are the pivotal pieces of my childhood. Sweet, sweet nostalgia

The only Jak and Daxter game I cannot finish. I’ve been stuck since 2005 because of Very Hard difficult in a freaking kid’s game while I set it on Easy!

The back of my jack 2 disk is sooo jacked up .. I played it till it didn’t work I would carry my jack 2 everywhere with me with my red memory card 😂 so my friend could help pass some missions
So many memories seriously ! 🤭 It was this series, the ratchet and clank trilogy plus deadlocked, halo combat evolved and 2, most of the spyro games, crash bandicoots and manhunt that were my childhood favourites ! 😁

I must applaud your performance in the mission at 3:53:39 because this mission is extremely hard, and I have searched for tricks, none of which really help, it proves that Dark Jak allows you to pass easily while limiting the damage. Well done.

I'll never forget the shock of going from TPL (a fun platformer with no actual violence) to Jak II as a kid. It was GTA lite to me.
I love this GTA meets Half Life 2 thing they got going on. I'm so glad it didn't slip into Shadow The Hedgehog territory!
For everyone saying I remember the graphics looking better , there’s this theory out there that when humans are younger the Brain works more like a psychedelic trip ( visuals and thoughts ) then when ur older
