14:04 "This isn't a game." Jak and Daxter both looks directly at the camera as a funny 4th wall break acknowledging they're actually in a game. Funny detail I noticed.
I feel like special attention needs to be drawn to the scene at 26:10. Specifically, when Sig says, "Nothing personal." Jak made no attempt to fight back or run. He just stared Sig straight down because either A: he knew full well Sig wouldn't shoot him, or B: he was going to make Sig look him in the eye if he did kill him. Pretty powerful stuff, looking at it in retrospect.
Jak has worked with Sig for too long to know he wouldn’t shoot a brother in arms even if he only knew Jak for say a few days before the Metalpede in the ruins under the Port.Sig knew Jak had the makings of a true Wastelander so he wouldn’t strike him down
@@WelshGiraffa It's also a pretty heartfelt reunion between Da Boyz when Sig shows up at the end of Renegade. He's pretty much Jak's Wastelander Coach/Teacher/Mentor
Also I can't help but wonder if Sig could actually take Jak. In Renegade he tanked that giant metal head falling on him, possibly swallowed him. If it did swallow him, and he used the Peace-Maker to get out, he probably would have blasted himself too. So like, how badass is Sig really? Lol. I always kind of figured Jak had to have made him the King of Spargus after his father died.
Jaeho Jeong Well they were both created by Naughty Dog, drawn by Bob Rafei and both Orange in colour. I guess they wanted to tribute crash by giving Daxter a similar outfit.
Jak 3 is my second favorite of the game series. Erol's first scene in 36:33 was my favorite when it reveals that he's alive after he crashed into the dark eco barrels in Jak 2. And he was badass and creepy when he was a cyborg and the main villain here. :)
He flipped the bird at... the bird. Not to mention that you can literally hear the crowd in the background going "OHHHH." That made it even more hilarious for me lmao
Is no one going to question how Seem knew Daxter was a precursor? Like it was always a mystery until they are revealed in the catacombs but when she gives you the artifact she mentions how she’s grateful to have seen the “face of her makers” as she proceeds to pet Dax...........so how in the hell did she know?

Some people say Jak 3’s story was a mess that’s hard to follow.. I don’t get that. There’s events happening simultaneously, sure, but they’re generally more streamlined in pushing the main narrative (just wish the game wasn’t so short). If anything, Jak 2 was a longer & (arguably) more complex game - with branching quests that generally served world building, until they bled back into the main story later on.
You know Kleiver kind of looks a bit like Damas. Could he be a brother? They work super closely together. Kleiver's mom is Dead, we never see Jak's mom. Kleiver is Blonde like Jak, but significantly older. My guess is this. An Older OLDER brother, OR. Jak's fat racer Uncle. What do you people think? Jinx could also very likely be a relative of Jak, very similar threads and hair color. You don't really see too many blonde main characters in the series, and when they show up you could assume they are tied to the Mar bloodline one way or another. I always got the feeling Damas, Jak, Kleiver and Jinx possibly Tess have ties to the same bloodline. My suspicion about Jinx is even stronger in the third game since they overhauled his design to be a lot more 'Jak' Like. And there's some irony in Jak rolling his eyes at Jinx showboating, as it's a very Jak & Daxter thing to be braggarts To further break it down how they could make hints at being Jak's relatives besides Damas. Damas: Heroic/Leadership talents with a complicated moral compas. Kleiver: Possesses a love of all things competition (Be it Shooting things or Racing) Jinx: A showboating Braggart with a tendency to only take on the most dangerous missions and making it seem like no big deal, a dare devil. Tess: ??? Cute at first glance, and an absolute psycho on the inside- Not to mention a complete Gun-Nut. I don't think this was the case in Jak II Renegade at all, but they might have had the idea during Jak 3 to give Jak a lot more family hidden in plain sight. The only thing that kind of throws a wrench in the gears with the Jinx idea is that he doesn't complete the Blue eyes an Blonde hair motief. But he could be a distant cousin, and he's more like a re-representation of Both Jak and Daxter (Max Casella's New York'ish tone). OH also Jinx contains the first letter of Jak and the third letter of Daxter and is a word associated with trouble which both charactes get up to plenty xD (I'm stretching here)
So many classics, Jak & Daxter, Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper, ‘twas truly a renaissance of gaming. Yet so many can’t play these games in their original format and even with some making comebacks on PS4/5, it still doesn’t feel the same
Ghoffman91 Yeah, the Monk ( voiced by Tara Strong) said that Daxter carried the colours of the creators. Also Jak briefly sees them or thinks he sees them at 59:24 which is why he says “ wait a minute ... Daxter?” He thought he was imagining it but they showed themselves to him but not to the player.

Started with jak 2, when my mom refused to get me GTA3 because it was to violent for my preteen self, so the gamestop employee recommended jak2 because it was a GTA3 without all the blood, lol. I don't know where you are random GameStop employee, but you did good and I have alot of great memories because of it.
In my case I tried out Jak 3. I wanted to get it for my PS2 but instead I got Jak & Daxter. But afterwards I was able to play the 2 and the 3. And boy did I have fun.
I swear this series has some of the best writing I've ever seen in video games. Daxter's lines alone are gold. Its unfortunate the lost frontier is most likely the last Jak and Daxter game we'll probably get. I'd love to see this turned into an animated series. Not likely to happen I know, but a man can dream eh?

The trilogy needs a revamp. And I'm not talking about another 'remastered in HD'; I mean expanded gameplay, DLC, 10" Daxter collectable statue, a 4th game, the whole shebang.

I remember when i was younger, i had a ps2 with the jak trilogy but i was trash at video games, so i stopped playing. After we moved, i lost my ps2 and kept thinking: "Why didn't i finish the jak games!?". It was somewhere between 5-8 years later when i remembered the jak games, so i went online and purchased an old school ps2, and the jak trilogy. I spent about a month playing all 3, and when i saw the credits of jak 3 roll, i legit almost cried.
For a period of a few months halfway through my 20s, played all my old PS2 games on evenings after work. Just living alone in my apartment, playing all the Jak games, Sly Cooper, Ace Combat. Never really did that again. That was about 8 years ago. I still look back on that memory fondly.
SourceSpy91 The story to Jak X is actually pretty decent, the cutscenes are really well done and are nice little rewards for beating races. Plus they reinstate Keira as the love interest rather than Ashelin, which fixes one of the weird things that always seemed off about Jak 3.
She purposefully moves her body hip wise in a way SHE KNOWS is sexual and she's been like this since Jak 2. There's no way she doesn't notice, fr broads like her need a damn burqa.
1:04:39 to 1:05:37 - It gets me every time, my first ever gaming plot twist moment. It's like Naughty dog wanted to screw with us like the last of us. I asked Naughty Dog about the reboot that never was... and the guy running the Q&A said they couldn't answer it because of NDA's and all. Why the heck is there still an NDA on Jak & Daxter? One theory I have that you will like is we are getting a New Game or A Remaster or a Reboot but I can only hope. what do you think @SourceSpy91
@@CrazyDevoYT Hi, I'm a paralegal and I might have a little info that might help make clear why the NDA is still active. Typically, an NDA is created when a company has a forward rolling plan that, if information on this plan got out, could affect the outcome of said plan. The only reason they'd have an active NDA is if they're planning something new with the IP, selling the IP, or it's simply about to expire and the agreed-upon date hasn't come yet. In my professional opinion, they're probably planning to remaster one of the games (probably the first one) and don't want any word out on it, but that could just as well mean anything at all.

Some NDAs definitely can, but with high profile ones (especially in the entertainment industry) the lawyers know that most employees can't (or won't) keep their mouths shut for very long, so they don't really bother with indefinite contracts because there would be no case in court to fight, and it'd be a huge waste of money and time for all involved specifically BECAUSE they have no future plans with the IP. Again, I haven't read these contracts, so that's definitely not a guarentee, but in my opinion they could and should definitely sell it while it's worth something since the domain won't be public until 50 years have passed without any renewal whatsoever. Personally I don't want nu-naughty dog to touch J&D because they're very social justice oriented now, I'd rather another company, with real creative talent behind the wheel, to take a loving crack at the games. It just wouldn't be a decent investment on naughty dogs part, especially now. Sadly that's what it comes down to for their board members: a return on an investment.
Watching this now, its hard to imagine where another sequel would fit. What would be reaaaally cool would be a prequel maybe when praxis backstabbed damos or the story with all the sages and gal or even how jak founded haven city
I always thought based on what Samos said about Gal and Maia probably being dead it would've been cool having them comeback in in final game. Bring it all full circle.
With the whole deal about the Dark Makers and this"incomplete world", the ending and what Lost Frontier is, I always thought it eventually take us to space

Honestly it feels like the Sony formula for potential mascots is 3 story games, racing game, certain amount of canon spin offs, remastered version of the original trilogy, remaster of the racing game. Plop, finished
@@Mac14329 A tiny amount. I was more interested in the art style and Naughty Dog's status at the time, and never personally owned a PS2 like that until I was in my teens, transferring regularly between foster homes throughout the greater half of CT.
@@Mac14329 i did, first Jak 2 then 3 and finally 1. I was 7 years old when i played TPL and i like it a lot even after 2 and 3. In some time of my life my mind said "Jak 1 is your favorite" then i decided to play them again and the top ended like this: 1: Jak 2 2: Jak 3 3: Jak 1 In this year after 4 years without playing any entries of the trilogy i decided to play Jak 3 cuz i remember it like almost the perfect Jak game aaaaaaaaaaaaand....nope, Jak 2 is better in almost everything (for me) and Jak 1 is very good but this one feels like in ND they said "guys we have to finish the game NOW"
After playing Jak 2 i was so weirded out by keira being mute and irrelevant for much of the third game. I only recently learned about the change of voice actress halfway through the third game and that explains a lot. Pretty jarring stuff nonetheless.
I noticed she was pretty absent back in the day and how they seemed to be pushing Jak x Ashelin. Never figured that was the reason. Well Keira got her place back for Jak X.
Eh, I wasn't a fan of this twist. I prefer the direction Jak X went, even if Jak 3 has more story to it, and Jak delivers the exact same line for a different twist at the end of Jak X.
I wish they would be animated series in our own though haha. I love animation and think all three franchises would be awesome if adapted (and done right).
My favorite of the entire saga. Back in the day there were PS2 that played the Demonstration version of this one. I got amazed by the Giant Metal Heads Battle

There was going to be another game that they were thinking about and making concepts for, but at the time, uncharted was the thing and the studio tried to work out how a more reaction Jake game would look and feel like, but they said it didn't feel right and they might come back to it in the future. I wouldn't mind them keeping the style as ratchet and clank did, though I thought the grittier look was cool. I'm sure it was hard to balance with the comedy the games are known for.
Because Naughty Dog and Insomniac are sellout ass clowns studios, operated by a bigger sellout ass clown publisher, Sony. Otherwise there are tons great newer games, just none with the PlayStation branding.
Yeah but the game doesn’t use that fact, basically daxter got turned into a god and nothing comes of it, I’d at least like to see the other three teach daxter how to use his powers, maybe in jak four
I wonder what happened since then that caused so many games to feel like they all have exact same pixar-ish animation style. I can never shake the feeling that I'm watching the work of a college student who's been told the "correct method" and has lost all individual character.

I’m still to this day wondering why they did that I mean ye you could have seen Jak and Ashekin together if Keira didn’t show up until the Metal Head invasion instead of the races in 2 granted the scene in the desert if they didn’t cut the part where Daxter persuades Jak to go back instead of just here’s the mission go to the temple right after you meet with Ashelin
I love Jak 3 it was my favourite game when I was a kid. I still have my PS2 with all Jak and Daxter games. Nostalgic... When I completed Jak 3 I was 9 years old and I was sure that Jak 4 would be released by the time I turned 15. Now that I am 25 I just can't imagine my reaction if I new that Jak 3 was the last game of these series...(The way I see it, the next games have nothing to do with the original story) I played both Jak X and Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier but I didn't like them. Miss those days...

I'm content with no Jak 4. Uncharted and TLOU are both very boring to me and I think they're a good sign that ND wouldn't be able to recreate the magic. I feel like this is a fine ending to the series, Jak X and Frontier not included (Kid me would probably just be happy that they're making a new ratchet and clank)

ND definatly shifted tones completely though they called jak kid friendly which is wasn't there was alot of adult jokes and themes in the 2nd and 3rd game that made it more for teenager. Only one kid friendly was the 1st one and that's cause they wanted another platformer mascot and tried the trio (ratchet,sly and jak) to try and fill the void crash left

I remember when i was younger, i had a ps2 with the jak trilogy but i was trash at video games, so i stopped playing. After we moved, i lost my ps2 and kept thinking: "Why didn't i finish the jak games!?". It was somewhere between 5-8 years later when i remembered the jak games, so i went online and purchased an old school ps2, and the jak trilogy. I spent about a month playing all 3, and when i saw the credits of jak 3 roll, i legit almost cried.

For a period of a few months halfway through my 20s, played all my old PS2 games on evenings after work. Just living alone in my apartment, playing all the Jak games, Sly Cooper, Ace Combat. Never really did that again. That was about 8 years ago. I still look back on that memory fondly.

SourceSpy91 The story to Jak X is actually pretty decent, the cutscenes are really well done and are nice little rewards for beating races. Plus they reinstate Keira as the love interest rather than Ashelin, which fixes one of the weird things that always seemed off about Jak 3.

Typically, an NDA is created when a company has a forward rolling plan that, if information on this plan got out, could affect the outcome of said plan. The only reason they'd have an active NDA is if they're planning something new with the IP, selling the IP, or it's simply about to expire and the agreed-upon date hasn't come yet. In my professional opinion, they're probably planning to remaster one of the games (probably the first one) and don't want any word out on it, but that could just as well mean anything at all.

Some NDAs definitely can, but with high profile ones (especially in the entertainment industry) the lawyers know that most employees can't (or won't) keep their mouths shut for very long, so they don't really bother with indefinite contracts because there would be no case in court to fight, and it'd be a huge waste of money and time for all involved specifically BECAUSE they have no future plans with the IP. Again, I haven't read these contracts, so that's definitely not a guarentee, but in my opinion they could and should definitely sell it while it's worth something since the domain won't be public until 50 years have passed without any renewal whatsoever. Personally I don't want nu-naughty dog to touch J&D because they're very social justice oriented now, I'd rather another company, with real creative talent behind the wheel, to take a loving crack at the games. It just wouldn't be a decent investment on naughty dogs part, especially now. Sadly that's what it comes down to for their board members: a return on an investment.

After playing Jak 2 i was so weirded out by keira being mute and irrelevant for much of the third game. I only recently learned about the change of voice actress halfway through the third game and that explains a lot. Pretty jarring stuff nonetheless.
I noticed she was pretty absent back in the day and how they seemed to be pushing Jak x Ashelin. Never figured that was the reason. Well Keira got her place back for Jak X.

Such a great time playing Jak 3. I completed everything in this game and still played it even after beating it countless times just to enjoy it.
In some alternate universe/reality Jak & Daxter, Sly Cooper & Ratchet and Clank are animated series instead of videogames.
I wish they would be animated series in our own though haha. I love animation and think all three franchises would be awesome if adapted (and done right).

There was going to be another game that they were thinking about and making concepts for, but at the time, uncharted was the thing and the studio tried to work out how a more reaction Jake game would look and feel like, but they said it didn't feel right and they might come back to it in the future.
I wouldn't mind them keeping the style as ratchet and clank did, though I thought the grittier look was cool. I'm sure it was hard to balance with the comedy the games are known for.

I love Jak 3 it was my favourite game when I was a kid. I still have my PS2 with all Jak and Daxter games. Nostalgic... When I completed Jak 3 I was 9 years old and I was sure that Jak 4 would be released by the time I turned 15. Now that I am 25 I just can't imagine my reaction if I new that Jak 3 was the last game of these series...(The way I see it, the next games have nothing to do with the original story) I played both Jak X and Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier but I didn't like them. ND definatly shifted tones completely though they called jak kid friendly which is wasn't there was alot of adult jokes and themes in the 2nd and 3rd game that made it more for teenager. Only one kid friendly was the 1st one and that's cause they wanted another platformer mascot and tried the trio (ratchet,sly and jak) to try and fill the void crash left
