Oh god, yes!! I've been asking for the Ratchet & Clank trilogy for years.. And, I wouldn't say no to God of War either.
And the Jak and Daxter games need to run on the new PS2 emulator

Lately, I've been playing more retro than recent releases.. So, I wouldn't say no to any of them.
This is the only Jak & Daxter game I ever played as a kid because it came with my PSP and I loved it. Completed it 100% every orb.

The memories I have of playing this on the psp as a kid, man time flys for sure gonna have to run it up for nostalgia especially the bug fights and when he would have the black suit with glasses 😤💯
I say this is the definitive way to play Daxter! Finished playing it yesterday, got 101% and it was just so cool to be playing my favorite PSP game on my PS5! very happy how this port turned out and I'm hopeful Ratchet and Clank's PSP adventures can be added next!
Its better on Vita or PPSSPP but ill give it that its the best legit way to play it
@@SamFimple Did you unlock the Jak X scooter and goggles? I was wondering if they changed the unlock requirements since they removed the save data scan function.
@@IAmLordKoros The only things I was able to unlock in that game were the behind the scene stuff, the masks, and Daxter's pants. I 101% the entire game and I couldn't unlock those, assuming they were kept for the PS5 version. I had two cheats supposedly locked, which confused me since I'm sure I collected everything there is in the game.
@@SamFimple Yeah those two ??? are the Jak X Scooter and the Goggles. Sigh... maybe they can patch in an option to unlock them in the emulator menu, like how you can toggle Infected Mode in Resistance Retribution. Why remove the Scan feature? Jak X is on PS4/PS5. Why didn't they just fix it to where you can scan for that save data?
@@IAmLordKoros Yeah, I would've loved to have unlocked the Jak X scooter! That would've been cool to drive around with! I even own Jak X on my PS5. It would be cool to use my save from that game to get a chance to get those last cheats unlocked.

I remember struggling to even get bronze as a little kid. Not I can get gold no problem. But I miss that feeling of finding pure gold of a game as a kid

I feel ya! It was one of the very first Jak and Daxter games I ever played. But also the hardest PS2 game on my own as a child. Besides ratchet & clank going commando.
Platinum’d Sly, Playing Daxter now and *AGAIN* this rewind feature is *GOD LIKE* and PlayStation may need to look into adapting this into more games 🔥

@@StephenStepzIt’s pretty cool, not too hard, not too easy. Just the perfect middle. You will definitely have a great time with it. Sly belongs to the TOP 3, alongside Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter.

You won’t get them all in your first run, because the game is set in a way to actually go back to some maps and play again to get certain trophies.
But they are quite funny and easy to do.
@@StephenStepz honestly the hardest part is maybe the time trials, but the rewind feature let me scroll RIGHT back to the parts where I lost the most time and correct it vs having to restart the *WHOLE LEVEL* overall the platinum is a fun run
I like that in Jak 1 Samos actually says daxter could be a good exterminator. Kinda making that a bit of foreshadowing
I always loved Daxter. I got it when it came out on PSP, and then I played it again in 2014 on a PSTV. Got the PS5 version free since I bought it digitally before. Funny thing is I haven't played any other games in the series but I have a fondness for Daxter.
I had bought this on the Vita years ago so it was nice to see it free on the PS5 with their cross purchase thing

Daxter also mimics Jak’s attacks from the precursor legacy (the extra moves you unlock for completing the dream mini games)
Ready at Dawn. Another developer taken from us. Due to Order 1886. We will never know why that game didn't pan out, but seriously an Order 1886 sequel that would build upon what was there could have been excellent.

Daxter was my first psp game

Mad that this was the first Jak and Daxter game I ever played. Love this word and am glad I can experience it again on current consoles. Still praying for a new Jak game
Always wanted to fully play through Daxter but never owned a PSP. This port was the first time I really got to sink my teeth into the game and I loved every second of it! Just got the platinum trophy the other day and I still plan to keep playing and unlock everything.
Interesting fact about me: this was the first jak & daxter I played, I didn’t know about the rest of the series until some time later (didn’t have a ps2 until 2009). So for a while I assumed this was a stand alone title, didn’t know daxter was a sidekick or that he was a “human” at one point.
Maaaaan this was a great game on the PSP. My goodness the memories.
Now we pray to god that Jak and Daxter will get a remake or a new game. PLEASE
What I love about Daxter is that it's really a platform game with combat, not the other way.

Recently got the platinum for Daxter and absolutely loved it! I missed out on this for the longest time so I was super excited when they added it to the classics catalogue.
I've learned something awesome! I owned the Vita version of Daxter, and because of that I got to download the PS5 version for free!
i wish i knew this i only have the pstv and for some reason could never buy daxter on it i think it was blacklisted on that console for some reason BUT that gives me hope in the future if they add other games i do have on there or maybe from the ps3 like the ratchet and clank series
Ready at Dawn were such a good dev during the PSP days. It's kind of a bummer that they gave High Impact Lost Frontier but I guess Ready at Dawn were busy and Size Matters was successful somehow.
I had the original on PSP, but I didn't have any clue about the story since I'd never played the series before, so I sadly didn't finish it. But I do remember enjoying the game though!
It was also my first game in the series and I finished it. I loved the story.
Earned the Platinum Trophy in one day, seeing this added onto PS5/PS4 was a dream come true. Enjoyed playing this on my PS Vita back in 2014.
Remember the glorious platform movement Jak had. The dodge then jump then ground pound. No game can touch it to this day.
Finally, I can play my favorite PSP game from my childhood😁😁
Ready At Dawn did a great job with this game. It would be great if Sony gave the franchise to them!
Sony made a huge mistake not acquiring Ready at Dawn when there was a chance to. Now Ready at Dawn is owned by Meta, so they likely won't be working with PlayStation again.
Didn’t realize how much this game plays like Mario Sunshine with the levels being designed around a mechanic that allows you to thrust and float around.
Daxter was my first handheld game
Has anyone else had an issue with Daxter not being able to walk in a straight line? It's not stick drift as I've tried multiple controllers on both the ps4 and ps5 versions. I've tried setting the motion inputs to the d-pad. I've even tried using my new dualsense edge controller AND replaced one of the analog sticks to see if somehow the factory new $200 controller was defunctional. I cannot get Daxter to walk straight and it's frustrating because I want to enjoy the game as much as it seems the rest of the comment section is
I have the exact same issue. Hitting up makes him go forward-left. I have to hit up-right to make him go straight ahead.
Glad I’m not the only one having the issue but also I have no clue how to fix it? Seems really weird

I know there's not exactly a lot of competition, but Daxter is honestly one of my favorite games in the series. It's just a fun, feel good platformer with a lot of heart and gives an unexpected amount of growth to the comic relief character of the series Daxter is easily my favorite PSP game (sorry Birth By Sleep I promise I still love you)
I've never played Daxter before even though I had a PSP. The only game I played on that was Parappa the Rapper. But now I finally have a chance to try this one out. Hopefully we'll also get the rest of Sly Cooper and the Ratchet & Clank trilogy. If Sony wants to squeeze more money out of me, they know what to do.
I'm so happy that this game is available for PS5. I literally had no idea this was available until I read about it on Reddit the day it came out. Overall, I'm just glad it's here, there's even trophies for it too. All 6 J&D games are finally home.
I beat this game on PSP and you couldn't pay me all the money in the world to play this again.

Randomly had some painful glitches during the final boss but it was mostly enjoyable! Really hope we get more retro platformers soon.

Never played this game until it came out on PS+! It's so much fun. I got the platinum today :)
Daxter™ feels more like a real Jak game because the creative director (aka lead writer) Daniel Arey was responsible for key beats of the story, and members of Naughty Dog (who did not migrate to Ready at Dawn already) were providing hands-on guidance throughout development. Key people who made Jak 1 to X great were really helping out. In contrast, Lost Frontier was outsourced to High Impact, who made several bad decisions, including changing the original rough story draft for the worse with stupid additions, and give the overall package really meh execution. Though Sony's strict schedule did not help.

Yeah, this was the first time I ever played Daxter, really fun game, and I can see just why it's looked on more favourably than Lost Frontier, or even the Ratchet & Clank PSP games.
I love all these older games coming to PS Plus. Reminder of the time when games were actually fun to play, something modern gaming seems to have forgotten.
I'll finish Sly Cooper on my Oled then hit this up! One of my favourite and best Jack And Daxter games.
For sure, agreed with your takes on Daxter. Fun to control, great way to integrate Jak 1 concepts into Jak 2 & 3's world. And graphically it looks gorgeous. Glad PS4/PS5 fans finally get to play the game easily.

I just finished Daxter for the first time since i somehow skipped it as a kid and it was really good. It did feel like The OG trilogy.
Kinda funny though how the gameplay looked so clean, but as soon as there was a cutscene everything went full blurry, low resolution lol. I mean i get why, but wish they could make them clean as well.

Jak 2 and 3 has a lot of platforming and adventuring. To dismiss 2 and 3 as nothing but GTA clones because it's open world, has weapons and missions? 2 and 3 is Jak 1 plus a more open world, more vehicles, weapons and missions taking the place of power cells
No framerate update (still 30fps), no 4K resolution on PS5, and more frame drops than the PSP original. Not quite an “excellent version.”

I didn't experience that bloom effect that high on The Lost Frontier. Maybe it's because you have HDR enable? My TV don't support it and it looked good (I played it the first day they released it)
I grew up playing these but when I play them now on my ps5 I start to feel sick? Like motion sickness or something and I cannot figure out why.
