Totally agree. He didn't find the combo Luka/Agent all by himself but he built the entire deck that allows the combo to be viable and competitive

The list was starting to be discussed on PERF’ a French speaking community for competitive Magic players when Crokeyz started to make it popular just after loosing to... wait for it... Elliott Dragon. The cards belong to everyone, decklists too. But I wouldn’t like spending a lot of time in R&D to break the format to see someone else take the credit. It’s a Bill Finger situation we have here 😂

Playing Agent means you have a smooth brain that can't think of a win condition outside of what's in every youtube video and standard deck build for any color combo with blue in it.

@@sladjanavukas5420 Witches oven isn't the problem, all artifacts are the problem. It's the artifact priority they need to fix. They should just make it that if I set a stop and hit auto pass on my opponent's turn it actually passes unless my opponent targets my stuff it would save minutes and like thirty clicks a game. Also food should just auto sacrifice like treasure tokens, just give priority to the youngest food to avoid issues with animation and give an auto pay button.

But to be honest, the REALLY boring decks to play against is Cat/Oven decks (almost every variants); Mono Red, but I guess that we are already used to it by now; and the cycle decks that are starting to appear to often, but very beatable, always depending on Zenith Flare (in my opinion).
That's obviously just my personal opinion, but I prefer to play against a "Yorion Deck" than any one of those I mentioned, just because of the amount of times they appear on the ladder (and basically everywhere). Because my problem isn't about loosing to Yorion/Lukka/Agent, but playing against the same decks over and over again instead! That's the definition of boring to me, like Cat/Oven, Mono Red, Cycle, etc...

I don't disagree with anything you've said, I find the cat oven deck incredibly mind numbing. But also your definition of boring is also why I hate anything Agent of Treachery, because it's all I ever face at the moment, again and again.

Cgb, I stumbled into your channel sometime in the last couple weeks and I thought you would like to know I'm watching ever single day. Sometimes not with single minded intensity, in fact usually when I am doing something else that doesn't need my brain too much, but every other mtga streamer I've seen is boring compared to your feed. I recommend searching the history for "Dance of the Manse". There are several iterations of the deck in there, and it's the kind of Magic CGB seems to enjoy most (even when it isn't top tier).

This deck is everything wrong with Standard at the moment.

Those are all a part of the the game whether you like it or not. This is just another example of consistent turn 4-6 wins born from free casting and cheating out crap combined with companions being a guaranteed 8th card in your opening hand that also sometimes just so happen to be combo pieces.
The current state of monored and ludicrous amounts of early mana (particularly mana doublers, Nissa and Wilderness Reclamation) are problems, but this is ridiculous.

So you use Fires to freecast Lukka who freecasts Agent while Teferi stops the opponent from doing anything about it. I didn't know a deck could be more cancerous than Fires Superfriends. Ban them all.

FOR EVERYONE THAT HATES THE META: we need to take away their zenith flares. their agent of treachery. their embercleave. I present: yorion esper control. 2x unmoored ego main deck, fae of wishes to grab another plus lots of graveyard hate and the shieldmage for hexproof. the deck isn’t meant to win, but meta decks scoop when you cast unmoored who or side in your hate
God flash is toxic.....turn 5 agent "hold my beer."
I really dislike these solitaire decks personally. I get they have their place and I don’t want them banned or anything, but white weenies and mono red aggro are even more appealing. Appreciate the constant uploads though!
This isn't a solitaire type. Self-mill is solitaire, temure rec is close to solitaire, Gyruda is solitare. This is a weird hybrid of control and combo where the combo leads to better control.

i created a similar deck in historic with the "sigil of the empty throne" after seeing the lukka-agent combo on channel fireball. sofar i won got about 20 rares and +10k gold from the historic event, several times going 7/0.
ps: "time wipe" is real nasty too, pseudo-blinking the yorion after it exiled all the agents while clearing the board.
This video was so good! Too bad so many people scooped would have like to see you take it to the end. I would love to play this deck, but I feel like this is one of the decks I copy thinking cgb wrecked with this I'm sure I'll do the same, I jump on ladder I get stomped 10 games in a row. Hahahaha. Definitely need to learn how to anticipate like you CGB, I'm always playing to stop what my opponent just did instead of stoping what they will do. You mentioned something to that effect on stream yesterday when you were talking about what to fetch with wishes. Sound advice! Thank you!

You only hate them because...let's all be honest...Planewalkers used to fucking suck and now they feel as powerful as they should
@@TurtleBoxOfficial I wasn't so adamantly against them when they were just used to spice up the play, but now as people are running all-planeswalker decks it changes the game completely into something else than magic (read: makes it boring). This could be fixed if there was enough planeswalker removal, there should be two-mana removal just as for every other card type (disenchant, terror, etc).

This deck seems far more creative than other agent piles. Lots of different decisions to make and cool interactions to try and maximize the power level of your turn.

The version I saw was running the hippo as the companion. Lukka comes out, you sacrifice one of your adventure creatures, and you get a spark double that copies your companion to draw more cards.

There is one Jeskai deck left you should try (it's not even a control deck/fires pile :P). I've seen a Jeskai Heroic deck running around with Lurrus, Sprite Dragon, Tenth District Legionnaire, and a bunch of cantrips and curiosity effects, and it seems surprisingly legit. Similar in some ways to M20 Feather; with a sufficiently explosive start against a slower deck you can be smacking them for lethal on turn four pretty easily, but the addition of Lurrus and Staggering Insight gives the deck a surprisingly solid longer game; able to recur threats that might have been wrathed away, gain life, and generate card advantage in matchups where that matters.
I made this deck yesterday out of frustration with my decs that got me to mythic were going down fast. This one has me going up. Lovin it. So powerful, I dont think people know whats going on.

What I really hate with fires decks is that you can have a pile of removal for it. Like.. 15+ cards in your deck that can remove it. But THEY ALWAYS have one more just after you removed it. Aaand the circus is afoot. Cannot wait for the deck to die, in a fire.

Passive plansewalker abilities, things to steal permenants, hell planeswalkers with double effect on plus(Nichol Bolas), and mana costs on the most powerful cards so easy to fit into every deck type.. No one is testing shit at Wotc.

Bobby Corwen he knew it was almost impossible to cast it without being countered, given how many cards the opponents gone through in his deck. Later we saw he was holding up multiple counterspells, so the streamer was correct.

I think it probably would have been better to play the lukka over the narset in the first game, pod out the agent, force the alseed sack, let the lukka take the 8 damage and then blink agent and sun with the yorion. It might have been risker if they take out both lukka and the agent but when you have the pieces for a combo I think you have to give up control and 'throw the sodium in the puddle' and make someone else clean it up while you go do something else. But nevertheless you're a baller
This deck is amazing. I've tried so many ways to build the Jeskai Yorion deck and I believe this is the best so far. I added in 2 Shark Typhoons. I really wanted a Fae wishboard but then could potentially hit Fae with Lukka. Super good brew, thanks CGB
Just an addendum to my comment. I think issue I was having and many others is the decks are far too greedy. 80 cards is already greedy enough. Lukka/Agent is the win-con...don't add in Cavaliers or Ultimatums...theres zero need in this deck. Play it with the mentality that Lukka/Agent is your plan and the plays/sideboarding make themselves. My 4 Color Wishboard Yorion Fires deck was too greedy too, but after seeing this one, I was able to slim down and focus on what my plan was and won a few matches in a row now.
Long comment summation: This deck/video is an excellent example of the maximum amount of greed that should be in a deck without being too win-more to play well.

Well the point of the card is to play your opponents deck so yeah I don't think originality was intended.
Yeah better play monored or Lurrus. Those are so original, there are so many possible combo in monored, so many lists. I love it. It's super fun to play also, not annoying doing everytime the same things and win or lose by turn 4
When agent was first released it was a nice anti control card but over the last few expansions it has received far too many enablers in my opinion.

@@garrettrast5186 I don't really see how it's anti-control, it's in the colour with the most control support. If anything it's anti midrange since it's best used in in ramp and control, but really it's just a control payoff to take a win con from decks that actually play win cons and not just like four cards that might slowly grindout a game.
Permanent stealing is such a petty aspect of the game. If white can't have symmetrical land destruction because it swings games too much and actually punishes ramp, blue shouldn't have access to permanent stealing which swings games and punishes everything but especially non ramped decks. Stealing land is just way too far.
Borrowing effects are find but one off effects that can't be reversed is just too powerful compared to other colours. White the "good exile"/"powerful removal" colour can't even exile anything for less than five mana with it being reversible in 4 out of five colours for two or less mana. If white got a 1-2 mana instant or enchantment that said "all permanents on the battlefield return to their owners control standard would be a much more balanced place since the most unanswered effect would have a check.
-TLD White needs cheap theft reversal or a way to punish ramp. Sorry for the rant.

at 12:08 you should have played Conquers Death instead of Omen of the Sea and goten rid of the Baneful Eildon instead of playing Omen of the Sea.
Is there a reason you're running omen of the forge over something like deafening clarion? Just to shore up yourself against aggro? Also, kasmina instead of narset gives you another sacrifice piece.

Why is wizards of the coast favoring control so much in standard right now? ikoria gave all these great control decks all these awesome cards when they're already top tier i'm looking at you jeskai and bant. Like they really needed that Yorion for a free extra card and it's only 5 mana and running 80 cards is not even a bad handicap for control decks. I can't even think of a deck that mono red or any other aggro decks beats anymore it's just jeskai fire's/control, rakdos obosh/lurrus or bant ramp yorion. Like maybe if you're lucky enough to find the 1/10 chance to play vs temur reclamation you can win since they usually don't main deck board sweeps so they can counter the other tier 1 decks. Companion cards are maybe a little too strong ?

I'd cut the agents down to two or three (rarely one uses lucca more than twice in a match) and add a couple of sarkhan the masterless for another finisher option with planeswalkers
Among other things crokeyz ran 2 lazotep platings in a more final version
